    Such a great idea. I was searching for a lamp shade replacement instead. This looks much boho themed exactly what I wanted. Im thinking to use poster paper from dollar use and use the original circular wires inside of it and make it cylindrical

    Omg I love this! I was just getting ready to purchase a new lamp for my desk area I have the same shaped lamp but the paper has ripped. Thank you Dan!!

    I finally have an option for my torn up large rice paper lamp 👍 I found one store that charges $12 plus $9 in shipping for a round one but can't find a square one. All the diy's online use fabric and they create some metal frame or use the top and bottom square with fabric and looks too loose. You're the first diy that is affordable and uses no fabric (I was concerned about flame resistance) I will use dollar store poster board , kitchen plastic, and they carry those jute twines about $9 total and just splurge on the titebond wood glue might be$4. My base is already. square.

    Just bought my first home and this and your smaller ones is just what I was looking for but I added some shells in my yarn by drilling a small hole in the shells and threading the yarn through and spraying it a ombré colour of 3 different blues as I wanted a Beach Country theme lounge room. I’ll upload the pic when I get a chance to your blog page on instagram

      first congrats on your new flat !!! :)
      and the shells are very creative idea!, the weight of the shells does'nt demage the structure ofthe lamp shade?

    Hey, not sure I'd get a reply after all these years but do you think I could use a different color string? I'm just worried the glue would show if I use for example black string, thoughts??

    • @danshachar7406
      @danshachar7406  3 роки тому +1

      lol
      It is, if you're using a black string and white glue it will be shown.
      but you can use clear glue, it will be invisible but a bit shiny like plastic.

    Two questions:
    1. What is the type of cardboard you used?
    2. What type of glue did you use to glue the cardboards?
    Thank you.
    Amazing job BTW 👌

    • @danshachar7406
      @danshachar7406  6 років тому

      Ricardo Zea 1. The cheapest cardboard you can found ( it use for mini architectural models)
      2. Scotch glue - dries really fast

    Dan I have one of those lamps, and no shade at all, so no frame. any suggestions as to how to make a frame for it, either round or square? I basically want to make a twig shade (upright twigs) but need some kind of framework to attach the twigs to.

    • @danshachar7406
      @danshachar7406  6 років тому +1

      princesslehaha maybe you can build a frame from tall dowels (wood sticks). That way the frame would be light but stable. Is that useful ?

    • @princesslehaha
      @princesslehaha 6 років тому

      The metal parts though is what I'd be missing. I can use any kind of sticks or dowels or whatever for that wood part, but I have no frame; the metal parts.
