I've been EDCing a Gerber Prybrid for ages now and couldn't be happier. It's built like a tank and combines a pry tool with a ulility knife in a compact sturdy frame that saves space on my keychain. Truth be told, I don't really trust folders when it comes to heavier duty tasks, so Palmer and Bob the boxcutter would be my top picks here. Thanks for a great video!
The Palmer is dope I got one as a gift. The bin looks great too
That blade change on the fourth was smooth asf
Yes, I got a Milwaukee.. the tyrant Razor has had my eye for a while
Just ordered one too with the intent of eventually upgrading to the tyrant razor if I like it. Did you end up buying one?
@evilmarc very cool I never got around to ordering that Razor knife
These are sweet. I’m astounded by the high prices however. As a carpenter, I use and depend on utility knives daily. I have some dewalts, and of course the ole faithful Stanley.
It’s time for a new one, but I’m hesitant to spend $80 on a utility knife. They seem like they’re built tough, all of those, but considering these are EDC products I worry they simply won’t be as durable as purpose built construction ones. I’d pull the trigger on one if I could find one that’s non-folding, and full size. Those last two are very cute and I want them, but it’s not what I need.
Side note, how is it that the titanium one and the aluminum one are the same price??
I got a walnut handled craftsman folding one that wasn’t made in china from Lowe’s and a green hi-vis craftsman fixed handle one from Lowe’s, better to search for the good quality deals and losing 12$ then lose 80$ when forgetting stuff at the job site
I just bought and started carrying the Reate Exo gravity utility knife.
Oh man looks like a beast!
Been rocking a coast from Amazon utility razor - purchased the tyrant a few days ago I couldn’t help myself it’s just too beautiful and for someone who uses one 15+ a day this will be awesome!
I EDC a topo TPT Slide for the past year and before that the Gerber EAB Lite for years. I really want to get the TiRant.
Just ordered a couple of days ago the tpt slide from bigidesign. Cant wait to receive it 🎉
Also look ti utility knife from bigidesign, you should like it if tirant is your style
@@brainiac006 Awesome! The TPT Slide I carry always in my pocket, very useful.
Yes I carry a utility knife James brand palmer in blue
I love the Palmer I just wish it gave you a little more blade to work with
Same. I have a handful of utility knives and the Palmer is my absolute fave. Just something about the way it looks and handles is just perfection to me, but i really wish it let out more blade. I haven’t had any actually problems with the blade being too short in real like applications but it makes me feel like im wasting blades changing one that still has like 70% of the edge brand new after using both sides.
I understand why it’s so short though, the only thing stabilizing the blade is the blade carriage inside the enclosure so i feel any longer and you’re gonna start getting wobble and a bendy blade but im sure that just depends on the size of the carriage. I’m sure as shit no engineer though.
Is it a magnetic detent or a fully magnetic system?
Give me the palmer or the tirant, bob the boxcutter is $50 overprices, the rest are just a no thank you, but the palmer, sheeeeeeeeyooooo!!
Haha yeah i saw recently they did a supreme collab on the palmer looked really great! Definitely the smoothest opening mechanism I have ever used on a utility knife.
@@UrbanSurvivorits a gorgeous knife man, i have the tpt and I HATE THAT TURD, swapping blades is so difficult, the knife just sits in a drawer now, i use the $10 itokey (they literally have the exact same capabilities aa the $85 tpt) and never had a complaint. Love your channel by the way, always good content my man!!!
I’ll stick with my $10 Gerber EAB. You have to be delusional to pay more than $25 for a utility knife.
