A really great performance, Thanks for posting. I love the mix of solo, band with harmonies and the solo and canntaireachd. Good tune too. Archy Campbell would be turning in his grave at this 'tuney tune' ha ha!
SFU has played several Piobaireachds and performed the Canntaireachd (singing) as part of the presentation. It does add something to the performance and exposes many not familiar with it to Piobaireachd. One of my favorites they did was Andrew McNeil of Colonsay. But this now ranks quite high on my favs now. Thanks for posting.
that was the caintaireachd (sp ?) of the tune, wasn't it? Very cool arrangement idea. I like it when an innovation in traditional music comes from a deeply rooted source and adds, not detracts, from a performance. Goodness knows it's hard to do well and most of the time it fails but I think this works well,
Very, very moving. I like the Ceol Mor but don't get to hear it very often, the audiences aren't very discerning and only want to hear "Amazing Grace."
Mind Blown
Absolutely Fantastic. Well done one and all
congrats!!!!What a sound!!!
That's good Jack to here it as a band very good!
