Do remember we will not even be in the Top 50 , in GDP per capita, in 2028, but still overtake the NFL speaks volumes about the brand which IPL has created.

It's often said that CRICKET is a RELIGION in India. Majority of the Indian population loves this sport. I personally am a huge fan of the sport, and I feel happy to see the future prospects of this sport as BRIGHT.
I had watched a few IPL matches in the stadiums over the years. One thing I enjoyed was the atmosphere. It never gets very serious with all the entertainment. No one really cries when their team loses. Big difference from international cricket and all the life-and-death like tension.

What will happen in 2030 when India will have 10 trillion dollars economy and middle class rises and have more purchasing power? IPL is going to explode and will become richest and most successful tournament out of any sports especially if you are talking about financial side of the game.

No. This will be a big loss to the Indian economy. Do you have any idea how much money BCCI generates for India? The brand value of the IPL is because of the brand value of the Indian players. Once you allow indian players to play other leagues, the IPL will lose its business.
@@tamberlame27 first of all, most cricket audiences are Indian. If we allow indian players in other leagues, Indian/ipl audiences got divided in other leagues. So result :- IPL down, other league up. 2nd :- UAE, American leagues can offer more money than India. UAE allowed 7-8 foreigner players in a team. In short, without indian audiences no league can grow that much as ipl. If our players go in any league, indian audiences follow them. Don't do too much of cricket. One league (IPL) per year is ok, for indian audiences point of view.
Well the thing about IPL and T20 cricket was, that it wasn't BCCI's idea. And BCCI were actually not Interested in T20 at all, a media group know as ZEE, and it's chairman actually saw the potential in t20, and decided to make a t20 tournament called "Indian Cricket league" but the ICC were against the idea since in the 1970s an Australian media also made a cricket tournament with limited rules and coloured jerseys and it looked way exciting then the test matches and it forced ICC to adapt the match format, so they will not let a media company rule cricket again. So with the help of BCCI, they destroyed every possibility of ICL to Happen ICL went bankrupt few years later, while IPL was the BCCI's final weapon.

Just give 5 more years guys. Around 2028 when India becomes 3rd largest economy in the world then I am expecting IPL to overtake NFL in brand value. Do remember we will not even be in the Top 50 , in GDP per capita, in 2028, but still overtake the NFL speaks volumes about the brand which IPL has created.

Cricket faced lot of discrimination and racism , specially by nonwhite teams .
Sa cricket was banned for racism unless Nelson Mandela came to power. England cricket board intentionally offered beef to the Indians , The Indian cricket team was literally on a sandwich playing a 5 day test cricket.
Aussies treated every brown team like their enemy unless IPL came.
Yeah it definitely forced them to be more humble
India has weaponised cricket, using it to stoke communal hatred at home and even exporting hate to UK and elsewhere.
Also 3 percent Brahmin community representing more than 60% Indian players with power they get with their birth.
@Reeshi Tas dai venna onum purilada
@Reeshi Tas their ancestors were discriminated , but taking revenge from today's generation for that is stupidity!!
Many low caste Hindu also discriminated against , but they ultimately look at the future ,
Concept of caste is getting vanished slowly in future generations.
Unpopular opinion. Stakes in India Vs Australia matches are higher than India Vs Pakistan. These Aussies be coming with meanest intentions for the game. High level of cricket can be seen between these two. Especially the tests.
Not an unpopular opinion at all. India v Australia is a game of high skill and technical ability.
yes ind vs aus is something else ,but in test and test format is the only format I hold true and difficult format
a foreign media talks about Indian population and doesn't show footages of old Delhi ? *MindBlown*
It's often said that CRICKET is a RELIGION in India. Majority of the Indian population loves this sport. I personally am a huge fan of the sport, and I feel happy to see the future prospects of this sport as BRIGHT.
Same
Also for every foreign player play in IPL, 20% of player fees goes to that board which can be used to improve their own team. Everybody wins.
If builders stop encroaching playgrounds and BCCI set up talent camps in school and crickets, there's a lot of untapped potential left
I had watched a few IPL matches in the stadiums over the years. One thing I enjoyed was the atmosphere. It never gets very serious with all the entertainment. No one really cries when their team loses. Big difference from international cricket and all the life-and-death like tension.
India have taken show cricket to another level 😊

Cricket, especially IPL is going to become huge. You are comparing it with NFL but just look at the size of US and Indian economy. Also just see the purchasing power of consumer in India and US. It's huge difference but still IPL is just behind NFL in per match cost. What will happen in 2030 when India will have 10 trillion dollars economy and middle class rises and have more purchasing power? IPL is going to explode and will become richest and most successful tournament out of any sports especially if you are talking about financial side of the game.

I am one of the minority traditionalist that still believe in the beauty of intellectual arguments and long test match duels. As a bowler myself I felt increasingly that the advantage of batsman have been increased year after year in name of entertainment. If you ever had the ability to play 4-5 day format you will know how much fun it is to play that format and how much strategy is involved instead of just slogging every other ball.
Well said the 4-5 days of test match have a lot of fun than the t20. And the strategy to build each session of the test match is 🔥🔥🔥
@@dkine5586 We all love test cricket but you know our life has become fast paced these days. We can't give 50 hrs of our week just for a test match. That is the reality
Me too 😁
T20 tournaments needed to let people like you keep enjoying test cricket, keep the game alive.... because without financial attraction less and less youth were playing cricket.
Bro test cricket is so boring half the people die before the game ends. India perfected cricket into what it is today. The adrenaline rush you get when your team needs to make 6 runs in 2 balls. That's what cricket should be about.
What’s world cricket without game changers like Sachin, Kapil Dev, Sunny, MS Dhoni and many such greats who made game great success, success brings money

Cricket will grow because India is growing but it won't grow in countries like the US or Finland. Just like how baseball is so very popular in the US and aside from Japan not very many country play it seriously.
the next T20 world(2024) is going to be held in US so there's hope. Also this year female Cricket was part of Commonwealth games.
IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHETHER CRICKET GROWS IN THOSE COUNTRIES OR NOT SINCE MOST OF CRICKETS REVENUE COMES FROM INDIA. EVEN IF IT GROWS IN FINLAND IT DOES NOT MATTER SINCE FINLAND HAS A VERT SMALL POPULATION

Most associate nation cricket teams across the world are made up of Indians, Pakistanis and Srilankans overwhelmingly. If this helps in atleast the popularity of the sport in those countries it'll unearth more local talent in the future.

@@Kris7na if nobody gives a f about cricket in those countries and has to buy players from non local population then this has no use. Why would they even care about it? Just like in India, do you care about india has a national baseball team?

I think BCCI should allow indian players to play in leagues around the world. This will be a big favour for the game of Cricket.
No. The players will be burnt out.
No. This will be a big loss to the Indian economy. Do you have any idea how much money BCCI generates for India?
The brand value of the IPL is because of the brand value of the Indian players. Once you allow indian players to play other leagues, the IPL will lose its business.
@@aditya-ml6km why will it be a loss? Which league outside of India is capable of paying as much?
@@tamberlame27 first of all, most cricket audiences are Indian. If we allow indian players in other leagues, Indian/ipl audiences got divided in other leagues. So result :- IPL down, other league up.
2nd :- UAE, American leagues can offer more money than India. UAE allowed 7-8 foreigner players in a team.
In short, without indian audiences no league can grow that much as ipl.
If our players go in any league, indian audiences follow them.
