That’s funny. I saw that pop up in an ad on IG or YT and whoever was riding it made me want to try it. You just did the same thing. I want to try it more!
Never stop doing those airs. You and I are surfing nearly the same so when you land one I can mimic what you do. I also would like more info on surfers air surgery cos I need to get it done as well..
Aight, it's all I needed to hear, I will keep trying. Regarding the ear surgery, just make sure you pick a doctor that has experience with the chisel method. Almost no pain and recovery time is about a 3rd the length. I went to UCI and used a doctor name djillian. I think the best guy though is up in Santa Cruz.
Tic tacs! Haven't heard that in awhile ....... definitely a forgotten "OG" phrase i e skateboarding. I 100% agree, I judge a board on the fluid level of seamless "tic tacking and i know on the first wave if it's magical but yes fin change ups can be manipulated to a degree. Board looks alive and spunky ....... NICE hidden gem find! ❤
Great ending with the patented 360. That board looks fun - you were surfing it well esp backside. Throwing it up towards noon on the clock dial. I didn’t realize til the end how small the waves were lol cause the board looks like it was shredding bigger surf with how it was reacting. Water got cold too right, thanks for another sick vid.
Another great review! At some point it would be amazing to see a video where you put all your boards on a leader board of sorts for different conditions: uber-grovellers, groverllers, average and good condition boards.. or some other split that makes sense,.
No I didn't notice anything in particular. The volume is probably only 1 L more than I would want for that type of board. I like the length although I think a 5-4 would feel more scatty especially with that wide tail. I don't think I'll get another opportunity but if I ever get the chance I definitely want to test a 5'4 just to compare.
wow,it looks like there is lots work to do at the end of 2024 ,hahhh. can't wait to see Aloha 5'4 Black Panda andMick Fanning 5'4 Little Marely Soft Top . yewwwww!
Super cool board, I think it’s safe to say it can microwave if sized according. I’m wondering how this board would compare to the AIPA Supernova in similar waves?
that would be a great comparison. This one has it's wide point forward while the SN seems to have it's wide point back and a much wider tail relatively to it's outline. I'd love to try it at some point. I don't know anyone that has gotten it though.
it's been harder to get hold of Firewire boards, not sure if they don't like me or my reviews but they ghost my emails. :( All I really want to do is just do a long term demo like 3 weeks but they don't seem to want to do that for some reason. I just watched Kevin Schultz review it. interesting board. I'm curious what the difference is between the Boss Up and the Long Rider.
You mentioned comparable to the WT, but looking at it, wouldn't it be more/most comparable to the Gremlin being as it has more rocker and width at a given length than the WT? Anyways, great review as always 🤙
I just mean the rocker. not the board itself. Tough to know for sure though since I lost the rocker pics. :( I ended up returning the board before confirming that I still had the pics.
unfortunately, I don't have a Plasmic. :( it is a board that I want likely more than any other board at the moment to test, but nothing my size has come along at my price point. Having said that, I would say the Plasmic is more of a groveler board. It is thicker and carries more volume for it's height. Meaning a 5'8 BF would have way less liters than a stock 5'8 Plasmic. Anyways, these boards are not in the same category. I see the Plasmic as something that can handle smaller waves better and big soft waves better. The BF, as AIPA noted, is a performance fish made for hollow punchy beach breaks. Hope that helps. I am finally getting around to doing the Twinsman, LOL. Hopefully some day, I'll get a crack at the Plasmic.
Makes sense! I was curious because I’m also intrigued by the plasmic particularly the way Asher Pacey surfs it. The tail looks similar even though as you described they are very different I see. What about comparing the Dark Twinn experience you had with this Bonefish? Looked quite similar the way you surfed the weaker smaller waves. Which one seemed faster? More maneuverable? Caught waves better? I suppose the Ahi twins would make a difference. I actually ordered my first cuatom board ever from Duke, a Dark Twinn in xtr should be coming in any day now.
@@marcosmacau77 for me, I'd take the Dark Twin for my break. If I lived in San Clemente or Newport, I'd take the Bone Fish. The DT, at least the one I tested handled soft waves better. I didn't have to work as hard but not sure if it's cuz I rode it at 29+L Another consideration is whether or not you like a Twin vs Thruster/Quad. The fins are further back on the DT. You could even ride it as a pure twin. I personally like twins so I would lean toward the DT.
@@ThomyeSurfsSounds good, I appreciate your perspective on that. Listening to other’s experiences helps a lot when figuring out which boards to try which we know can be expensive. Great job man
Nice review! Just got the 5'10" and am really looking forward to trying it now that we finally have waves!
Another fantastic video. Appreciate that you’re including your positioning and take offs.
Nice review! Ripping with speed!🤙

ripping per usual! That board looks super fun!
Excellent work 😎
liked before watched...i'll be back after i digest the review

I thought about that but there are so many facets to it. The variation in boards and waves make it really difficult. But I will try. :)
Thanks
Wow really nice pop off that wave 👏
Did you notice any downside with the extra volume for you?

That air🎉 Ok my new series direction is going to be "Help Me get a Straight Air" 😊
straight airs are much easier to me, but in when I do those don't punt it. I tend to just lay up and get like 1' off the top.

Theres another mid length fire wire has! The longrider. Will you review that too? My goodness. They have too many now. Like 4 midlengths.

Hey Thomye, would you think that the FCS II Mark Richards Twin + Stabiliser Fins would be good for the hypto krypto?
I like the HK best as a 2+1 so definitely yes.
Of course you will land it. No worries it will happen.

Hi Thomye, how would you compare the Bonefish with the Plasmic? I know you're Plasmic is bigger but could you give some insight into this?
