Thank you, it is really fun to work with the inks, they are so beautifully translucent!

I’m in love with this!!! I think I told you a while back that I mixed cold wax and alcohol inks in an art journal (no real texture.) It came out really beautiful and translucent! It’s on my channel in the Cold,Wax playlist. I’m going to play some more, on that you’ve piqued my interest again! Have a wonderful Christmas! ❤

love your presentations. Have you tried metalic mica powder with cold wax?

Thank you Kathie, I did try the mica powders a long time ago, should get them out again! When you mix the with the cold wax, it looses a bit of its shine but when you sprinkle them on your wet underlayer and press them in with a palette knife the effect is beautiful!

Alcohol inks are beautiful, but they really are not light fast and will fade. Even uv varnish will not prevent that. They even fade when used with polymer clay.
It annoys me, because I love working with them, and your video looks amazing too.
But I've used them (ranger) on flower pots, coated with several layers of uv varnish (Lascaux) and they do fade over time.
So do be mindfull of direct sunlight. (Obviously my flower pots are in the window, facing the sun.)

Yes, I love the inks and the lightfastness worries me too. This was just a practice piece but I am working on a portrait and I really love the transparency of the inks. There are painters that paint with alcohol inks and sell there work, I wonder what they use as a protection! Will see ifI can find the answer
