it was a surprise as i knew about two lines, but i didn't know about this one, anyway seems to me extremely dangerous to have lines like that without any sign...
Hey petr kotyk, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix
Dann that was close. I've been flying maybe 100m next to that location and almost decided to fly there as well. There are pictures at the website and on the wall of the building that have the wire's positions marked, but I wasn't able to see them from the ground. Really sketchy, maybe I should try to find other safer routes up the Alpspitze in the future
different story in alpine places and without motor -> you often got the best lift there. But very dangerous of course. Apps like xcontest will support you with loud warnings though.
I bet with you that this cable car is entered in flight charts or a GPS vario. I'm just saying "flight area planning"! 2 m higer and you had a big problen. Lucky man.
Since you are betting I see you haven´t checked, unlike me (I was checking FLARM obstacle database), and no, they aren´t there. And I was lucky, yet it is a questionable desing to have steel ropes like that without any proper sign.
@@With_bear_in_the_air no, I didn't check the route because I don't know where you flew either. If the obstacle was not recorded then that's bad. Lucky for you that you got out of there. Hope the flight was nice after all.
@@With_bear_in_the_air You're always smarter afterwards. I probably wouldn't have found the information beforehand either. I had to search a long time.
Well i crashed into the steel line and was lucky, that I didn't hit the rock afterwards. So it's an accident with happy ending... Dunno what is your confusion about.
@@danizweifler6061 accidentally hitting a steel line with happy ending without an injury is still an accident. So take your sour attitude to someone who gives a hoot. :)
typical beginner's mistake, too close to the slope. If you haven't mastered the glider yet or the thermals are too strong, keep more distance in the terrain.
Lucky You!!! That was so not good. They should put flags on lines like these so pilots can avoid trouble.
It should be marked by some flags or balls like powerlines are.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you're OK
Me too:))
1 m higher and that would have been a "once in a lifetime" zipline experience. Glad you're ok!
As you say. Probably was not time to go, phew
holy cow that would be scary, just out of nowhere a steel cable across your path.

Hey there Felix. My email is: matse.kotyk@gmail.com contact me there :)
For soaring, we have the FLARM system which knows about such obstacles and gives a warning. Maybe that is available also for your sport.
i was checking FLARM and these lines are not there...
@@With_bear_in_the_air Hups - you might want to report this then to the Flarm company to protect others

Yeah i knew about two of them, but i missed this one.
on which website are these pictures, can you post the link?
Noo
Glad you were able to recover and go back to normal flight! I think you need to buy a lottery ticket or something
Haha you are right:)) but for me it means that i probably still have some work to do here, so this was not my time to go.
Great safe. Was your glider ok?
Thanks! Yes fortunately the glider was okay
Even I got sweaty hands after watching this. Lucky man.
I was actually completely calm knowing that if I hit the rock I'm done... But no panic
@@With_bear_in_the_air Sometimes it’s better being calm than overreacting and stalling the wing by yourself.
Sec 7. Why no Flags on that Line?
im asking myself the same question
So glad he was ok, damn that was scary
I would say it was unexpected. And dangerous. But no time for fear 😅
No Ty pííísničko. Právě jsem se po.. Ale šťastný konec. No a Tvůj závěrečný komentář nemá chybu :DD
Jo bylo to zajímavý :D
Wow you are freakin lucky to still be here enjoying your body.
As you say
BRAVO!!!!
this **** is not secure...what is this ****?!
Soooo closeeee
Scary!
No time for fear :))
Il y a bien longtemps j'ai installé des boules sur les câbles de haute tension, la ça aurait dû être fait 😁 ...
Happy birthday
Exactly:)) thanks
Ya know, one of my top 5 rules when flying my PPG Trike is.... stay away from granite cliffs & wires of any kind.

Tvle to nechceš. Ja bych použil asi jiná slova než jejej 🤣
Nejsi první, kdo to říká :D Já byl překvapivě celkem v klidu a spíš se mi honilo hlavou, co všechno musím udělat, abych se nerozmáz :))

Yeah something like that should have more attention and should be well depicted in some map...
@@With_bear_in_the_air maybe you can be the first one to mention that to the mods an they might add this info to the servers...😁
How is that an “accident”?

Stephen, were you waiting on a death or drastic injury to meet your definition of an accident?
He didn't fly into it on purpose. That's the defining element of an accident. Don't be a jerk
Clickbait. This is an incident, not an accident.
You must be fun at parties:))

Not what happened. There was a steel cable I crashed into ;)
Which bit was the accident?
Uhm the bit where my glider colided with steel line?

Yes, I don't understand why it's not there too
