    I have been using chain wax for many years to lube my chains. It's really less messy and stays on the chain to protect better once dry. It protects well from rust as far as I'm concerned. I have a 2022 Triumph Tiger Sport 660 in blue and I have done 1 season with it in Canada (I bought it new in March 2023!). I'm quite enjoying the heated grips, hand guards, the quickshifter and the side luggages! It's only missing a cruise control (unfortunately not available... would've had to go up to the Tiger 900 for that) Unfortunately can't ride here in winter, too cold and too much snow!

    Great video, I also own a 660 sport and I recommend fitting some bobbins to the swing arm so that you can use a paddock stand when cleaning and lubricating the chain.
    Also fit a radiator guard from Renntec, and front and rear fenda extendas from Pyramid plastics. Check tyre pressures regularly otherwise they will square off quite easily.
    Hope this helps, ride safe and I look forward to your next video. 😊

      Awesome those are the things I have been looking at. Do you have links for those bits so I can check them out. Also the guy did say that I need to keep an eye on the tyre pressure. I am waiting on the bobbins to arrive as that was the first purchase. Next as you say is the fender extender and radiator guard.

    Miss my bike sometimes in the Summer when its nice. Always hankered after a 900, but other commitments got in the way.

      For me biking has always been a way for me to get out and get some good fresh air in the face and do a bit of a reset. I love the smells and weather changes that you can get in one ride that you can never get in a car. I also try and make sure I can use the bike as I dont want to be paying for something that just stands in the garage. I cannot wait for the rain to stop so I can start using the euc to go to work. Thanks for the comment

      Awesome, I am glad you are liking the bike and I am also so looking forward to getting out and exploring the countryside. Do try the Calimoto app if you want to find new roads to explore and enjoy your bike. Mine just had the 600 mile service and will do an update about that soon. Keep well and safe riding.

    Great vid Andre, I got my 660 delivered this week…what a piece of art this thing is! Lots of good pointers here so all appreciated. Seen some videos about the removal of the small plastic plugs inserted by Triumph for the bobbins, many say it’s best to drill out carefully with a small central hole and pull out using a simple screw…not sure what you think? Thanks again and stay safe 👍

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  2 місяці тому +1

      Awesome glad you did get one. Its a pretty special motor and sound. Enough power for me and the type or riding I do with a good amount of wind protection. I did get the handguards and heated grips, think this is a must for the UK. For the little gromets I used a wood screw, just screw it in and then pull it out with pliers. I went with the triumph bobbins as they are well priced and looks great. Good luck with the bike and thanks for the feedback.

      haha, that KTM is a nice bike but when you ride this one its like a really massive step up. Its really smooth, sounds good and its comfortable for tackling the smaller roads and this is what I like. Its also nice and narrow so filtering and using it daily is a gem.

    Very informative thanks. You confirm quite a lot of what I thought about the Tiger 660, which I am considering buying. The main thing that puts me off it does not apply to you because you are 5'11". I am just under 5'8" with a 30" inside leg measurement, and on a test ride I found it a stretch to plant a foot (let alone both feet) firmly on the ground. That's OK in normal road conditions, but with my decades of motorbiking experience I know that, once in a while, there will come a time when a steep road camber or an unseen pothole will catch you unprepared when you put a foot down expecting solid ground, only to find empty air.

      @Andre-Mostert  Рік тому

      This is very true, its happened to me a few times when riding the big BMW 1200GS bikes. I can only counter to a certain angle and then its get off and let the bike lie down. But this bike is so much lighter for me. But I do understand that you can get caught off guard. Thanks for the feedback and it might be worth to check if they have an option for a lower seat or even getting a lower seat made.

    Excellent video, I'm considering this for my next bike. I want it for commuting and weekend/small tours. What do you think of the pillion capability? For a fully grown human, not a 9 year old 😂

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  Рік тому +1

      I have not had my wife on the back and will get this tested out in a month or so when the weather is a bit better. But the seat has enough room and its nice and flat for the pillion. The pegs is also in a nice position with the leg bend. Its not a Tiger 900 seat as my wife loved that one but its a good solid size. I will feedback as soon as I have her feedback.

    Thanks for sharing. Two questions, any wind pressure on your chest on this bike? And secondly some riders complaining about 900 gt pro's disturbing engine heat on knees. Do you agree?

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  Рік тому

      When the screen is at its lowest the wind hits me on my lower part of my helmet and I am 178cm tall. So I get really good protection from the wind on my body. I have been out in allot of rain too and the hand guards keeps my hands parts dry.
      The heat issues I think is going to be where you ride. Here in the UK its mostly cool and I have not had any issues that the bike was heating me up too much even in the summer. This is for my 900 GT Pro and this bike. But then again we are coming out of winter but the 900 did never have a heating problem for me. Only bike I can think that would heat up my knees was my BMW GS. Hope this helps.

    • @paulprice107
      @paulprice107 Рік тому

      I’m 6ft 1 and inside leg 32inch. Higher screen setting causes wind turbulence at motorway speed so I keep on lower setting unless it’s raining. No problems with heat even on hot days with spirited riding.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  Рік тому

      Same on the screen side. Its a bit noisy on the high setting, really weird as its not that difficult to shape a better screen. I ride 3 clicks from the bottom on the screen and that is a good inbetween.

      Awesome and thank you for the comment. I would say yes. I have been riding bikes for a long time and I am no expert but man this is a nice and friendly bike to ride. The clutch and shifting is easy, the weather protection is good and it looks good and sound very nice. From stuck in the traffic to the open road this bike can do it and you will have fun. The screen does buffet on the motorway but this is the only little grip I have. There are aftermarket screens if you really need to change it. I usually ride with the screen on its lowest setting and it gives me enough protection in the winter. Hope this helps and good luck with your choice.

      @@Andre-Mostert Thank you for the reply!! I've been this morning to Triumph dealer in Belgrade and saw the bike with new colours (pearl white and all black) and loved it!! The Tiger 660 suit me perfectly!! Have both feet on the ground, very light handling, nice seat, the sound is excellent, my wife seat also as a pillion and liked it ( still need to see on longer rides). They didn't give me a test ride because they are already sold but i tried the Trident 660 and loved the engine, gears, handling, sound... I decide to buy it and must wait december or on january 2024 to have my first new bike, the Tiger 660 pearl white!!! 😎 Can't wait next spring to ride with this beauty!! Cheers mate ✌️👍

      Awesome, I did a 4 hour solid ride with only stopping for fuel and it was really comfortable for me. My daughter also love to ride on the back and the only comment was that on really long rides the rear seat made her slide forward. But this can be because she is a bit shoter. That is not that a long wait and it would be an awesome bike to get your new year started on. Enjoy and let me know when you get it.

    I have a 17 plate Street Triple 765S. How does the Tiger 660 compare to a Street Triple?

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  2 місяці тому

      I also had the Street Triple and what a great bike but I do like the more adv styling of the 660 and also the riding position. This might just be because I have always had an adv bike and not a lot of street/naked bikes. The Street does have more punch but the upright seating and the wind and weather protection on the Tiger is for me a win. Its fast enough to have fun on and its all usable power. Sounds good and easy to ride. The screen does buffet but there are so many aftermarket bit to help with that. It never bothered me that much. Its just an all round fun bike. Hope this helps.

      @@Andre-Mostert Thanks. Apologies for the late reply. I'm from the other direction, never had an adv bike. I've had Yam Fazers, a Speed Triple and now the Street Triple. I love the 3 cylinder engine and the power. I guess I need to test ride a Tiger 660. I don't really need the power of the Street3 anymore (I'm 68) and I'm sure the 660 is all I really need.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  2 місяці тому +1

      Then you will still love the sound and the upright position. Its a great looking bike that is easy to get on with even in the traffic. For me the key was to get something lower but also that looks good and have good weather protection. This one ticked all the boxes. But yes best to get out and test ride one. Even with the screen on its lowest it gives a nice clean wind flow. Its only when the screen is on its highest that its a bit noisy. Keep me posted if you go for a test ride.

      @Andre-Mostert  8 місяців тому

      If you ride with the screen on its lowest setting its not bad at all. I have 178cm tall and that worked well for me. I found going mid to high to be noisy on the motorway. Lowest to 2-3 clicks up worked a treat. Great bike and I must say its one of the bikes I miss the most just because its a great riding bike and have so much to give for that price. Sounds great, looks great and rides really well. You can also look at aftermarket deflectors if it gets too much. I was using it mostly on the B roads and only really sit on the motorway to get to nice road. Let me know what you decide.

      @@MrTrek164 That is so true, my wife was more happy with the seat on the Tiger 850 and 900 compared to the 660. The 660's slants forward and that is not as comfortable at the flat seat on the Tiger. I must say I only bought the 900 GT Pro because they had a demo and I could not get the Tiger 850 Sport.
