In the 90s when I started riding(legally riding with a license and insurance), I could identify 90% of the cars trucks/suvs on the road by the size, shape, distance between headlights and the position of their fog/parking lights, height of the vehicle and tire width(back then 16' and bigger rims were just becoming common to the road and affordable)
