To me that is one of the best songs or the best one that Papa Roach has ever come out with and I've been a fan since their first album. Where that song is on the infest album if he ruins it or sjw whatever is it I will forever never be a fan of Papa Roach again.
23 years later, these words have not lost their meaning or importance. Life flies by so quickly, it's great to take a break for a moment and think about what a gift it is.
Papa Roach and Linkin Park always blended rap spittin lyrics and vocals with that basic power chord early 2000's sound the best...only way i can put it
It's funny how when this song came out, it was a middle finger of sorts to the nostalgic elitist music taste of prior generations. And now, 20 years down the line, this is "our" nostalgia, "our" back-when-music-was-fire moment...aaah nostalgia is a hell of a thing
I’ve always loved that scream, it adds a lot to the song. But from a technical perspective, he’s more so just yelling and not performing an false chord or a fry. I’ve heard him hit some great high screams though live though, and they sounded a lot better than this.
I remember I was about 16 years old when this came out. Full of rebellion and hate. I swore to myself I would never give into and be part of the system. Fast forward 20 years I am part of the big corporate, 'clocking in' and earning a decent pay cheque to support my wife and two kids. This song is bitter sweet to me. I only do what I do, like most of us to survive and be comfortable. Deep inside though, I still feel the same way I did all those years back. The irony is even bands like this that preach anti-establishment etc, are all part of the system too to some degree. It's just the way it is and there really is no way out. So I just focus on some of the things that make me happy outside of work - my family, my friends, and my guitar.
I'm just thinking it must be hard to have to get into a similar mindset over and over especially after 20 years. Though this song has a good message and meaning do it must make it easier. I dig it.
He is among the few singers that sounds just as good live as he does on a recording. His pitch is great and he can do anything from melodic singing to rapping to screaming.

Amazing! They performed this song live & sounding almost identical to the record version even after 20 years. This is why Papa Roach is my favorite band! 🔥
Back when this song was launched, I was into it because of the music and the flow of Jacoby's singing. Now, with a family, job, debts it gained a whole new meaning.
I am so happy you guys did this re-recording, but in a studio live version. This is golden and the album saved me in so many ways. Sometimes I wonder if Jacoby still remembers me. Back in 2000 when infest came out in the US and you guys came to Berlin Germany, I went to the show and since I was super early at the venue, Jacoby came out and talked to me, asking how I liked the album. I told him only last resort has been out, but not yet infest. He invited me into the tour bus and played me snippets of the album, which was really amazing. Ever since that day I went to every show in Berlin and he always recognized me in front row, coming down to give me a hug and ask how I was. He is just such a kind and down to earth guy. I am so happy you guys are doing well and are happy with healthy families. Lots of love 💕

My favorite Papa Roach song. Can't believe it's been 20 years. I miss the late 90's, early 2000's, & Nu Metal.
It was the best...
If I could only live in a time spaced bubble. Those days were the best and worst. The memories are irreplaceable.
i wish nu-metal come back.
Me too bro, me too. Was 18 when this album came out. Reminds me of those who are no longer around.

Dude, this exactly how i feel. You just help me put everything into context.
There's no money, there's no possessions
Only obsession, I don't need that shit
Take my money, take my obsession
I just want to be heard, loud and clear are my words
Coming from within man tell them what you heard
It's about a revolution, in your heart and in your mind
'Til you find a conclusion, lost out in obsession
Diamond rings get you nothing but a life-long lesson
And your pocketbooks stressing
You're a slave to the system, working jobs that you hate for that shit you don't need
It's too bad the world is based on greed
Step back and see
Stop thinking about yourself, start thinking about?
There's no money, there's no possession
Only obsession, I don't need that shit
Take my money, take my possession, take my obsession
I don't need that shit
Because everything is nothing
And emptiness isn't everything
This reality is really just a fucked up dream
With the flesh and the blood that you call your soul
Flip it inside out, it's a big black hole
Take your money burn it up like an asteroid
Possession, though you're never gonna feel the void
Take it away and learn your best lesson
The heart, the soul, the life, the passion
There's no money, there's no possession
Only obsession, I don't need that shit
Take my money, take my possession, take my obsession
I don't need that shit
Money, possession, obsession
Present yourself, press your clothes, comb your hair
And clock in
You just can't win, just can't win
And the things you own, own you
No!
Take my money, take my possession, take my obsession
I don't need that shit
Fuck your money, fuck your possession
Fuck your obsession, I don't need that shit
Money, possession, obsession, I don't need that shit
