I'm 26 right now. I remember being in my first rock band at 12 years old in 2006 (it was my brother on bass, a friend of us on drums, and me on guitar and vocals), and we used to copy these guy's moves in this video when we were playing this very song. Good old times.
I wish Nu-Metal never faded out as it was, it came out of nowhere in a blip and went out the same in like 10 years or so. The bands that "survived" completely changed their sound and their fanbase pretty much all changed. I feel like teenagers in the 95-05 era we just used Nu-Metal to exorcise our demons and cope with society and then moved on with our lives without giving much appreciation for what the genre meant to that generation. I may be totally wrong but that's how it feels like to me.
I see it more that both the bands and the fans all grew up the fans moved through the antsy edgy teenage years and then we didn't need to edgy sound we had in our teens so the bands moved to a more adult sound.
This song talks about the truth how people are based on greed and only care about money. Papa roach is the best they are true performers who are passionate about music and thier fans. Rock and metal music will never die see you in tinley park boys. Huge fan.

‘Diamond rings give you nothing but a lifelong lesson’ - when I was teenager I thought the line was funny, but after 20 years it hits completely different. Amazing song.
I saw Papa Roach live recently in Glasgow. It was very ironic when they played this song, a song that is anti materialistic, there were tonnes of people holding up their iphones recording. TheNeoton Remove myself from UA-cam, because I am capable of understanding that sometimes people run out of amazing art to make? The top people in the Nu-Metal genre have topped themselves about as many times as those at the top of the rock genre. Everyone more or less knows who ACDC is, but I doubt many of them have heard more then four to six songs. Most artists release an album and everyone only wants to hear one song on that album. And then they burn out after three albums or less. So be grateful we got what we got, a lot of musical genres burn out a lot faster.
One of my favorite songs when I was 13. This is the kind of things which really marks a generation. I'm 19 now, and I think that hipsters' music can't even really face the 2000's music.
I just turned 16 and I don't see what the deal is about people singing and rapping about ass, money and drugs, like really, why would you listen to that... But yeah, I fully agree with you.
I was never a huge Papa Roach Fan but was really into Nu Metal in high school. A few years later I worked at a rock festival in Jacksoville and actually got to meet the band. They even asked me to be their security guard at the autograph table we has set up. Anyways I just wanted to say this is got to be one of the hardest hitting songs from the Nu Metal era and the meaning behind the song is so true. Love this track and gained much respect for this band.
The song that started it all for me. I'd listened to rock music before, but Papa Roach were the first band I "discovered" for myself. I'm 32 now and this song still hits as hard as it did back then.
same, first rock song that I heard ...I remember I was eating pizza in a buffet and while I was eating I started listen this song , all ppl complaint about the video and I was enjoying it so much
Can't say the same. I was bullied at school dayly. My father treated me like some kind of dork. Our family almost had no money. How did i survive all this? Music.
This song was my high school energy. It powered me through, along with Last Resort, Snakes, Scars, Broken Home, Forever, and my other favourite, Revenge. Am 36 now, don't listen to these sort of songs on a daily but the fact that I can still enjoy them immensely on the odd night says much! Great music.
Holy shit dude. I heard this song in MIDDLE SCHOOL, but I was so young I didn't have a sense of remembering the cool songs I heard, they were on the radio and I forgot them just as quickly as they rotated. Now more than 20 years later all my old memories come flooding back. This is such a surreal feeling 🤘🤘
There is still good music out there, they are just not trend this days thats all. A great number of this bands are still playing today and writing new music, but for some reason they are not in the pedestal that were back in those years you say. Internet changed everything becouse now you dont need support from a discographic seal or tv to grow as an artist, you simply use social media and work hard and if the product is good sure there will be audience for it.
thedoctorzeus I'm only 14 but I'll always buy CD's. there's something about having a physical copy of an album, also I still have really old iPods and need CD's to download onto them😂
These, POD, Mudvayne, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Adema, Static X, spineshank, deftones, as well as Nirvana, Metallica, Guns.. made me the fine 33 year old I am today,... take me back to those days Amen
@@furryroadkill The Infest album came out in the year 2000, this was the 3rd single from it, maybe released in late 2000 or early '01. I would've been 15 (June 17th 2000). I am now 35 (August 2020). Not trying to be a pain in the ass, I just think maybe you remembered wrong. I remember the exact time this came out as I was just starting guitar lessons, and watching a lot of Simpsons, Futurama, and Family guy and also listening to KoRn, Slipknot, yes, even Limp Bizkit (wasn't in to Linkin Park yet, as they haven't yet been fully established to the record-buying public).
This album has gotten me through so many rough times. Thanks proach!
2020 and stills be a really good fking sh*t that almost 20 years ago.
Yep, artists were artists before...
Your extra chromosome must be kicking in because there's not just rap and rock dumbshits
One of my favorite songs when I was 15. I'm 29 now and I think that hipsters' music can't even really face the 1990's music ;)
*****
lol was just about to point out this song was 1999 :)

Same! Man seems like yesterday I got the Infest cd thinkin damn this is awesome! I'll be 34 this year lol.
same, first rock song that I heard ...I remember I was eating pizza in a buffet and while I was eating I started listen this song , all ppl complaint about the video and I was enjoying it so much
Damn straight brother! I'm 32 too. God bless
same here... 30y old, this is where it all started.
Heck yea bro! I'm 33 myself, and this was my favorite PR song growing up, and it still is amazing!

This song has aged tremendously well. More important lesson now than ever
More important lesson ever my brother.
No Tiktok, no Virus, no worries, I was sad no reason, great times.
Stills ongoing on coivd 19 mask
Yup.
Can't say the same. I was bullied at school dayly. My father treated me like some kind of dork. Our family almost had no money. How did i survive all this? Music.
Yes
Only angels and insects
Between Angels And Insects is perfect everything well forever here! Never ending life.
Im 47,i 1st heard this band when they 1st came out, they still give me shivers. Love it.. Be yourself people. But love you x
Oh my word wat an absolute tune deverstates still to this day this tune was so far ahead of its times
Great music.
same here man! class of 05
same here , class of 03
Holy shit dude.
This is so good but you must hear “Cage” or “City” by SLT 🤘🌇🎧
80-90-and early 00's were the epic decades of music!
Also 50s/60s/70s
There is still good music out there, they are just not trend this days thats all. A great number of this bands are still playing today and writing new music, but for some reason they are not in the pedestal that were back in those years you say. Internet changed everything becouse now you dont need support from a discographic seal or tv to grow as an artist, you simply use social media and work hard and if the product is good sure there will be audience for it.
@@alan138 cause the music you see in a pedestal is a bunch of autotune shit and brainless artists!
that's why we don't see real music these days.
Listen to Papa Roach, Nf, Eminem, The Living Thomstone, Evanescence, Iprevail.
2018's music still rocks.
@@enbychichi Omfg! You really miss those days?
Yeah... Those were the best years of your life.
*_Shitting in your pants and eating crayons_*

well l'm from the 90s and this handfull of bands (roach, POD, SOAD, etc.) really helped me get into the 2000s happy. Too bad they didnt survive
MTV killed them.
You do realize that the papa roach fan base is alive and thriving! A new album just released, the band is very much alive!

Loads of Truth in this song 💯💥💣🔥
This song should be re-released in 2021, wow how it would relate.
Bought the CD for this song...back when buying albums was a thing
Yep...I still do that but I feel like a weirdo doing it...and old...
thedoctorzeus I'm only 14 but I'll always buy CD's. there's something about having a physical copy of an album, also I still have really old iPods and need CD's to download onto them😂
I still do sometimes lol
Good for you! I feel the same
I always buy albums. I love having them as a CD, you know?
These, POD, Mudvayne, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Adema, Static X, spineshank, deftones, as well as Nirvana, Metallica, Guns.. made me the fine 33 year old I am today,... take me back to those days Amen

The best times
This song is still so good and even more relatable in 2021
23:01:2022 💪🤘👍😁🤝♥️🎧🎤🦾🦾🦾🦾
Even more in 2022. Things are just getting worse every month now..

can't believe that the quality of this clip still match the quality the of nowadays video. These legend doesn't seems old to me.
I was 18 yrs old. Now im already 34 yrs old
Ha, the same.
How is that possible? When this song came out I was 15. Now I'm 35. You only posted this 7 months ago.
@@Skunginoggin345 I was 12 when this came out and gonna be 33 in a month. Still as good as it was then maybe even better. Shame they went emo.
Again not trying to start trouble or anything.
oh, sorry I'm an idiot! I meant for that to be for JPAmazingstories. My Bad!
