From ghostly sightings, weird time slips and bizarre reality glitches, Liverpool it seems, has something of an obscure history of strange occurrences. But an incident in 1961, which saw multiple witnesses incapacitated by strange figures, would add the possibility of inter-dimensional gateways to the city’s ever-growing list of unusual happenings. Join us as we explore the Wavertree bus incident.

I'm a city bus driver myself, and I agree that those late night trips from around 8pm - 1am always bring out some cursed interactions with night-folk and spooky shit
The first bus of the morning at 4:00 or 5:00 am is creepy too.

@andrewhall7176 it was one of the freakier parts of my life I've lived through. I did live by the nvajo nation too, might have been a skinwalker but I doubt it. This thing was BIG. My ex pointed it out first, then I saw it and said "that's not natural, walk with me slowly and don't put your back to it." Still fresh in my memory. Fountain hills, az has some strange stuff. Let alone the navajo nation, I have another story about the "witch house" and the black trenchcoat entity I've seen if you'd like to hear about it. Probably the most unnerving experience I've ever had and witnessed.

I was born & live in Liverpool. It's good to hear a creepy tale from my home city. We do have a lot of stories like that here, a heck of a lot. Nearly everyone from Liverpool has a tale to tell...

Amazingly spooky story re: the bus - "phantoms" encounter. It almost sounds like they were preparing to abduct all the bus passengers to who knows where and for unknown purposes.

Obviously glad you guys shouted out Beyond Creepy. Mr. Black definitely deserves way more subscribers than he currently has. As you said, he is the premier resource for extremely obscure, almost personal, encounters with the supernatural and paranormal. One of the big problems with channels similar to his is that they tend to have major overlaps. Two channels of 300 videos, for example, tend to have 200-250 of those videos be about the same thing. Not Beyond Creepy. This is the only time I've ever seen another channel cover something he did. He's also the only channel to consistently get rockhard goosebumps out of me every single time I watch a video.
First Beyond Creepy then Wartime Stories, then LEMMiNO and now this? wow!!!, what a weekend we got my friends!

I am 65. From 21-60 years of age, I was also agoraphobic. Mine started immediately after the birth of my oldest child, in part due to undiagnosed depression at the time. At that time period, counseling was of zero benefit to me, as most had no idea how to best help me. So, during the raising of two children and helping my husband start his business, I never went more than five miles from home alone, or the panic attacks would be unbearable. This eventually contributed to my divorce which, of course, made my anxiety worse. Eventually, I found healing through prayer and spiritual intervention. At age 61, I took my first plane ride alone from Kansas to Arizona. Had zero issue. Traveling or leaving home for errands are no problem now. Thank you for coming forward. There is hope and healing for you. Let it happen at your pace, not someone else's. I will be praying for you in the meantime.
Thats awesome, well done ❤
So instead of therapy you went with magic woo...get some therapy it's okay to need help sometimes but it's reality based not voodoo and spells

I also struggle from a phobia- emetophobia, and it's impacted my life horribly. It keeps me from wanting to be in the car, try new restaurants or go on rides at theme parks. The fear of it always lingers over my head and no matter how silly I think to myself such a phobia is, I can't make all the anxiety around it stop. Thank you for sharing your personal story of your own phobia, it makes me feel less alone in my struggles. I hope to get myself to a much better place soon!
Have you considered getting a prescription for an antiemetic? I feel like most docs would be much more willing to prescribe one than any antianxiety med. I dunno, I feel like when I've struggled with nausea in the past, docs have been pretty willing to prescribe an antiemetic, and maybe that could help you. It might ease your mind, you know?
Anyway, hope you find what you need. Cheers, friend.
Invisible phantoms fill the air around us, usually we cant see them but they're there, when they want to be seen.
I respect your courage, Mr Presenter, and the other contributors who admit to these problems. The more we all talk about them, the better we're prepared to cope with them. And, given the popularity of this series, its a very good use of the platform.
It is not silly just part of who you are.
I`m agoraphobic on and off and its not fun but I have strategies in place. Does not always work but maybe you can look at some to try and help.
All the best and good luck.
Had to look that one up and honestly, emetophobia is probably one of the most reasonable phobias I've ever seen.
I once encountered a horror from another age while roaming the streets of Liverpool in the late 2000's. I believe it was known in ancient times as a 'shell suit'.

I always listened to Bedtime Stories on Spotify in bed before going to sleep. But 2 months ago I developed tinnitus and no one knows why. My life changed drastically and one of the things I missed was my nightly podcast, because I was now forced to endure white noise to drown the tinnitus. But I've gradually been able to drop that and get to a new normal, and that thankfully involves listening to Bedtime Stories again. Thank you for the wonderful stories x
Did you take the C-19 shot? There are now reports from people that they have developed tinnitus or a "whooshing" sound in their ears. Just a little info drop on that.

Couple things... I love the Bedtime Stories logo on the screen by the bus driver at the beginning of the episode! Also, I have noticed that A LOT of weird creepy paranormal things happen in the 60s and 70s....anyone else pick up on this? And its so good to see u reference Beyond Creepy! Yes, when the world seems to be in absolute chaos, these sightings and strange phenomenon increase. I don't think it's a coincidence.
Yes, and I noticed that a lot of alien sightings/encounters occurred in various places in 1966. Since that was the year I was born, I often refer to it as the year I landed.
I imagine the strange occurrences of the '60s and '70s also coincide with the increase in heavy and hallucinogenic drug usage as well.

Beyond Creepy UA-cam channel really is such an underrated GEM 💎of a channel. I’m always so surprised he doesn’t have millions of subscribers. As so many UA-cam channels LOVE to copy, recycle, regurgitate & repeat the same tired ‘’mysteries’’ over & over , I can say without a doubt that hands down I’ve heard some of the most scarifying mysteries (mainly in the 👽 possibility arena) that I’ve ever heard . Me being an American that grew up in the 90s - the original Unsolved Mysteries w/ Robert Stack was my favorite show growing up💗 So imagine my surprise when I kept hearing the word Fortean & thought they were saying Freudian, I had zero clue what that was really all about. I’ve been introduced to some other really good content from Beyond Creepy because he’s very good at respectfully giving sources including other UA-cam channels & in an era of a bazillion a.I. content farmed UA-cam channels & others that just essentially read off of reddit or other UA-cam channels & use dubious titles like ‘’I ENCOUNTERED A… (fill in the blank)’’ making it appear like it’s them that had the encounters (What Lurks Beneath) likes to pull that type of frustrating shenanigans. I respect it even more.
Weird World is another amazing channel although it’s fallen off a bit in the last few years.
But undoubtedly Top 5s, BEDTIME STORIES & Wartime Stories are a constant invaluable source for the best of the genre, I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that your brother would & is SO SO PROUD of you.

This is from a book by Tom Sleeman who just makes stuff up. He's well known in the fortean research community for it.
Loads of these creepy stories lead to some book or other and don't have any provenance beyond that. There's a massive giveaway at the start when he says it wasn't the usual bus driver. Just in case it turns out to be possible to verify exactly who drove the 79 bus during that period.
@@simonsimon325 That's what I was thinking. I asked the channel/video owner is there any mention of this incident having been reported in the press/newspaper at the time and all I got back was it is mentioned in Tom Sleeman's book. Sorry but that isn't proof that the incident/s actually happened. Where are the accounts in old newspaper reports or police reports from 1961 of the driver talking about it, passengers talking about it the policeman who witnessed the passengers and driver in a trance?. I couldn't find anything about this online. I do believe that things can and do get covered up, so maybe it has been covered up.
@@Embracing01 I'd bet if you asked Tom Sleeman where this story comes from, it'll be from a letter/email he received from the supposed replacement bus driver whose real name may even have been changed to protect his identity (carte blanche to make up any old shit). Which other witness apart from the policeman could have known the name of the driver and that all the other bus drivers were ill at the time. The fact the policeman isn't named suggests the information doesn't come from that source. If Sleeman had a police report to verify this story, he'd be very keen to say so. I lost interest in a lot of these paranormal things when I started noticing most of them came from anonymous sources and first appeared in anthologies, letters supposedly sent to authors, people whose real identity is being kept private, blah blah. Only reason I clicked this one was because I live not far from Wavertree.
