The Carron looks like a decent tent, Adam. Space is a great boon if you are not actually carrying the tent on your back from place to place. Hope you haven't given up on canvas now that you've got Renee. Your Carron is a 4. Wait for another 20 years and like me, you might be looking for a '5 tent' to give you standing room for old bones. I'm about to collect a 13 yr-old 'five' which has not only a decent-sized bedroom but a narrower room that might be good for a loo. And six foot headroom! It cost me less than a bottle of Bells.!!
    Best wishes on your adventures.

Hi Adam...you got one then! Enjoy your new found space, not a bad tent for the money. Great for one man and his dog. I always struggle with one man tents as I am claustrophobic, especially when in a sleeping bag too, hence why i called your Akto a coffin ,knowing it is actually a very good tent indeed. I've been enjoying a lot of your videos .I used to cycle tour when i was younger but just keep fit riding road bikes these days when i can't get to the mountains.

Hi Dave really glad you have been in touch - really wanted to say how glad I was to have met you & Basil! And the tour of your tent which ultimately lead me to totally rethink future hikes and trips. I will still carry on doing sporadic wildcamps - for which the 'coffin' is designed - however thanks to now having the Corran, any trips where I base at a site somewhere - like Glenridding, I now have a comfortable and practical 'basecamp' which is what I have now affectionately called my new Vango! So thanks for the inspiration - cheers for watching my vids - and I hope to meet up with you again one day on a peak in the Lakes! All the best Dave - Adam 😀 Give Basil a pat from me. Never stop the adventure. I like it. Might pinch that. 😉

Haha - seems like a palace after the coffins I have slept in! But I do still love my coffins though - will always be a place for them 😉 Cheers Dave - Adam 👍

Great stuff, just add carp fishing bed (so comfy), a table, butane gas ring/hob, kettle, and a cast iron skillet for making one pan meals.

I'm not gonna need a base camp, so I just got one question for you. Where'd ya get the blue "shorts"? :) Forget the tent! Cheers mate.

Just found this vid as looking at this tent for myself. So now you've had it a while, how are you finding it? I'd be camping solo, do you find it easy to put up on your own? How does it stand up to the British weather? Feedback from a user is so useful when making purchasing decisions, so any you can offer is extremely helpful. Thanks :)

Hi Claire... Well, I still love this tent. Regarding pitching on your own, as you can see on the video it is possible, however stating the obvious it would be far easier with 2... but I solo camp with mine and obviously the more you pitch it, the more refined the process becomes! But space wise its fabulous. I ventured into the 'Blow up' tent world a little - I will be uploading a video very soon - and TBH the space that this tent offered was far superior. I guess I have been a bit of a fair weather user, so have not exposed this tent to extreme British weather, although a couple of very heavy showers and it remained water tight! Good luck with your purchase, it is so difficult with so many similar tents on the market, spoilt for choice! But where this tent is concerned, I still love it! All the best - Adam 😃

@@justgetoutthereguy Interesting - looking forward to seeing what inflatable tent you have chosen because also debating that as a solo camper.

I’m gonna make some suggestions. Hope I’m not teaching you to suck eggs...
    - once you’ve installed the inner, is there any need to remove it to pack the tent away? As long as it’s bone dry, or you air it once home, leaving it in makes pitching next time much quicker.
    - when you insert the poles, I’d leave the clips off till the tent is up, so there’s less restriction on the poles or pull on the tent fabric as you lift it
    - before you lift the poles, peg at least the back two pegs in the fly base (not the guys), assuming you orientated the entrance downwind. More pegs if it’s windier. Once the shell is up, if it’s windy you risk losing it, especially if you’re working alone. (Pitching all-in-one may add some weight to limit kite flying, too.)

Some excellent suggestions there which I will definitely incorporate when I next pitch. As can be seen in the video I am clearly a novice with this type of pitch! I am used to small simple one pan pitching! So thanks again for the tips - appreciated - Adam 😀

Vango Wango, too heavy.... and too complex too, looks like it took ages to put up. It's a Autumn/Winter season tent I guess. That thing would be wrecked in bad weather. I like your garden :)
