Many Orchids can be propagated through dividing their pseudobulbs, but there are a few rules we need to keep in mind to make sure our divisions develop normally! Since seed propagation is next to impossible in our homes, dividing is the next best thing, at least for some Orchids!

Your videos are so helpful! I always admired orchid growers...in last 2 years, i have finally grown a few orchid seedlings to flower, and im soooo thrilled, and starting to acquire more orchid types. Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge for us newbees.
Thanks for this guide! It was super informative for me in pruning seedling pseudobulbs with no roots off my cattleya. Now she's growing more uprightly and has all of her healthy roots in the bark to absorb a little more moisture. Fingers crossed her recovery from severe root rot continues! Your detailed descriptions and demonstrations are so helpful.
I hope to be able to try this one day, most of my orchids are too small right now. This information has been stored in my brain until further notice 😂😂
Another chapter in my orchid education. Thanks Danny. Pete from Canada
I learn so much from your videos
Very good video. I enjoyed watching it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.🤗
Great video! Really helpful. Thank you
So helpful!
난꽃 영상 너무 잘봤습니다
😃👍👍💕💕💕
Thanks!
Great video and very informative! Also kinda scary to makes your cuts in the proper place!! 😊
Hehe you get used to it after a few divisions ☺️
😂
Thank you for your help
I'd get a mini-heart attack with each cut. 😂
I got pics for you on a example of moth orchids to divide
Where do you buy your decorative containers? I love that they are so bright and colorful!
Very informative 👍 I always have problem deciding how deep to pot simpodial orchids considering new growths. If you could direct me to some videos of yours regarding that issue... thanks
Thanks a lot Danny!!! Can you show me how its doing your macodes petola in your next video???
Hi, I prerecorded a video already showing it, it will be on Friday ☺️
MissOrchidGirl Yeyyyyy great!!! Thanks 🙏
My orchid has developed a new set of roots and leaves up the top of a long stem. Should I just leave it to grow like that
what about Snake orchid? Someone offered me a division of her Snake orchid - i mentioned the rule of 3-4 pseudobulbs and she said it's totally fine even with one bulb and she'd one it many times before....
I have an orchid that started rooting at the top, what can I do to transplant?
Thanks Danny. Very informative video. How do you water after division, ro water ? When do you start fertilizing.
Hi Thomas, just like after repotting, I wait a month or so for the orchid to settle in ☺️
I have a orchid with 2 keikis and I don’t know what to do. cut them, leave them on the plant, or what
Hi Danny are you please able to provide a name of the dendrobium in the video. I think I have one and have been searching for what it is for ages with no luck. Love you videos btw I’ve learnt so much from them 🙂
I've visited the Repotme.com many times these days but they don't ship internationally (or atleast Turkey) anymore! (teardrops flowing)
Im wondering what light you use on your five tier shelf or is that just for videos?
Thank you for this video. I noticed that you didn’t seal the rhizome where you cut. I take it that’s not necessary??
Hi, no it's not as important as sealing a cut pseudobulb or leaf. The rhizome is a lot woodier and not as prone to pathogen infections from cut portions ☺️
Thank you
Can you divide an Orchid if it’s still flowering?
Hi, better wait until the flowers are done if you'd like to have them for a bit longer ☺️
Can anyone help me, I recently for the first time bought two orchids from a nursery, they are phalaenopsis hybrids with actual labels and who their parents were, which I am really happy about.
The condition of them wasn't great, I ordered them off what I thought was a UK site considering it was all English but turns out it was a polish website, they are called purple Martin and bellina.
The bellina came in a tiny plastic pot, maybe about 2 inches and the purple martin came in one of those horrible one time use pots, it's much bigger but it was rammed with sphagnum moss and unfortunately a lot of roots were dead but it had enough roots to keep it going.
What my question is, is can I fertilise them as normal? Meaning I have two established and blooming phalaenopsis that I use rain mix on, but I am not sure how to fertilise younger phalaenopsis that haven't ever bloomed yet, if someone could help me I would appreciate it, I have rain mix which I know can burn the roots but with my established phalaenopsis I only lower them into the fertilised water so the mix doesn't touch the exposed roots and I water the exposed roots with plain RO water. Would the rain mix be ok for the younger plants and should I dilute it more than what the pack recommends. Thank you
Just got to the bit in the video where you identified it sorry
Why does my orchid only grow leave no flower spike?
Hi, it's hard to tell without knowing what orchid you have and how you care for it. I linked a lot of care tutorials in the description, check them out, maybe you'll find the answer ☺️
MissOrchidGirl thank you so much for replying. I love your channel very much, learned a lot from it!
