An easier way to put the needles back to where they need to be without using power is by just pressing them back on to the pins and rotating them counter-clockwise and stopping them at 0. Make sure you are moving them counter-clockwise though! The best way is to connect power and turn it on, connect to 17 - Instrument Cluster with VCDS and perform an output test which will locate the speedometer to 100, temp to 90, and I forget the values of the other two.
I am lead to believe that i made a mistake first to remove the cluster before disconnecting the battery. Two things I'll see when i get the chance is. I'll have to go for a drive so see if it'll go away, witch is the most case for several of the lights when you work on anything electrical. And or go on vcds and see what it says and if it can be fixed that way
Nice video 👌 I also ordered a mph -> kmh background change for my USA model from Poland. I haven't changed it yet, but I'm also interested in calibrating the needles before installation. I also have the vcds but haven't checked to see if there is anything.
I haven't hooked mine up to vcds after the install to play around with the instrument tab on it yet. I know there are people out there that have the set up to connect vcds with the cluster out of the car. As for me I only did just to give it power
Great presentation of the work involved. I'm amazed with the work and detail you have put into your Audi, great job. Additionally you have kept your hair sorted. 😁👍

Thank you. Haha, yes, there are days where I have it somewhat undercontroled. Not easy to maintain curly hair looking good all the time 😅
