Good stuff
Best mechanic I've seen recently. Keep up the precise work!
Thank you!
Thanks man! What was the overall benefit? Car works better?
Car still performs the same, all this does is limit the carbon build up tremendously by not recirculating the exhaust fumes (dirty air) back with the clean air from the intake side. By having carbon build up in the intake portion the inner diameter of the intake gets smaller which then limits the air interning the engine bc the carbon just keeps on building up over the years
Thanks
Thank you so much for your support, greatly appreciated
So all this time on from install, hows she running? Still no issues?? My tuner is majorly concerned about turning off the coolant bypass code thats been thrown since removing the egr and coolant solenoid. Said it connected the two heads and helps regulate temperature? Curious how your experience has been without this component to "regulate" temps. Thanks for any input ! ❤️
@@jstyle_designs no issues from the install. Still running strong. Reason you are getting a code is bc the EGR cooler has been removed from my understanding from your comment. There is no harm in removing/ tuning that out. All that the EGR does is recirculate the exhaust fumes (dirty air) back into the intake with clean air. And that's why there is so much carbon build up in the intake portion. And prior to doing the delete kit I had the Q7 tuned and it had the EGR deleted in software even tho I still had the physical EGR still installed. That's why when I removed the intake at first there wasn't too much carbon build up. Got the tune out around 31k miles and when I finally removed the tune I think I was around 70k miles, so for about 40k miles I had the EGR tuned out and had no issues. No issues at all on temps. Colder weather is around the corner here in Colorado but I don't believe there will be much difference from last year's cold weather.
@markb6s4 thanks for the input man ! I was more referring to the swirl flap or whatever the coolant thing is on top of the EGR but from your vid that was removed so I gather it's all smooth sailing ❤️ really appreciate the input man not a huge amount of knowledge here in aus for these!
@@jstyle_designs the solenoid will come out with the EGR which is actually vacuum lines. The vacuum lines will get removed and some will get plugged. Now I am no tuner, so I don't know if that vacuum lines will be the same with the EGR or if it's a different coding needed.
What site of the rims?

Great video. I plan on doing the same. My Q7 is a 2012
Hi Mark, thanks for the great video. I would like to ask mine has a 2016 Cayenne diesel and ut has the same Aisin 8 speeds as yours. Do you know why my mechanic here told the fluid color should be yellow, thus not the same as you used as red ? So I’m confused about he correct fluid to use. I’m based in Europe. Thanks for your help !
That is strange. With that said it may be different since you are in Europe. But in reality I don't think it should be different since the oil we get is from Europe. What really matters is that it be the correct spec ATF.
Can't you just electronically delete the egr function so the valve stays closed? Same with the swirl flaps you can just turn them off and they default to the open position?
As of right now and I may be wrong. The only way to shut off the EGR is through a tune. I do have VCDS but even that I don't believe it has that feature to turn on/off only bc it is emissions related. If that was a feature I think VCDS or other scan tools will then have to commercialize their produce for " off road use only" to avoid any lawsuits from who ever is in charge of the emission in the government branch. That why alot of tunes one would get for any car a big majority adverse it for (off road use only)
After coming to own an Audi myself, I later conceded to handing my credit card to the snap-on tool truck salesperson and then drove off with the truck.
@@Slowcarfastbeans haha, that's how it usually goes
I love how much room you gain in the valley with the EGR cooler gone, you can actually see in there!
@@TeamAtterz totally agree 👍🏻 and if you accidently do drop a bolt down there it's easier to retrieve it 😅
Where did you get the Bentley manual from to have all the diagrams for tq specs?
@@SKLLY-gg1nf found it online for free. As for the link, unfortunately I don't remember or have it since this was a very long time ago I stumbled upon it. My guess would be I found it through the Audizine forums bc someone posted a link to it
If you disable EGR .. what happens to DPF ??? It will clog up quickly? ..
@@shhs6127 the EGR and the dpf are 2 different "features" (I think that's the correct description.) but there both part of the exhaust system So the EGR resuculates the exhaust feums back into with the clean air coming from the air filter. And that's why there is so much carbon build up in the intake portion. By disabling the EGR, the exhaust feums ( dirty air) does not get resuculated and send now 100% to the exhaust tips and only clean air goes into the manifold which reduces the carbon build up significantly. The DPF has to do with another part of the exhaust but neither or effect each other. DpF uses the Deff that gets filled next to the fuel cap. All that does is ( chemistry stuff) Deff mixed with the exhaust comes out "cleaner' emissions... Hope that makes sense
@markb6s4 It doesn't make sense why cars engine is build with egr and dpf ?.. it just makes trouble for the engine ..
@@shhs6127 this solely my 100% opinion and I believe this is just all politics and money unfortunately. Not trying to bring up oh it's the left or the rights idea but at the end of the day they dictate these type of laws. Here in the US you will never see any new Diesel engines from VW/Audi group newer then 2015 bc of the diesel gate scandle. But In Europe they still make diesel engines and they are so profishant. I was in Spain for work a few months back and my rental car was an 2024 Audi a4 TDI, amazing engine. But bc of that scandle politicians said no more. And they add these emission stuff like you said that do more harm then do good to the engine. But this can easily go down a rabbit hole type of conversation 😅
Hey Mark, can you tell me all the exact parts I need to order off SusTDI to get the delete done? Lots of parts and I don’t know what to order. Thanks in advance
@@Swim403 at the @1:45 min mark of the video I go through all of the parts I ordered for this delete kit
@ Thanks so much! I just bought a high mileage 2013 porsche cayenne diesel 3.0TDI and wanted to delete it and get rid of the codes. Any idea what engine oil I should use for snowy climates? Some people are saying Liqi Moly TopTec 4200 5w30 is good all around, but 0w30 is also an option. Thanks
@@Swim403 I live in Colorado, so we get winters and we also get hot days. And thats exactly the oil I use on my car the liquid moly top tec. I have not had any issues with that oil with my Q7 ownership
Hey hey there Mark what is your exhaust system set up u running with, thanks in advance
@@AndreSolomon-v6h I have the JHM v2 headers (catless), 2.5 in from headers with xpipe, and the mufflers are an Amazon brand the that has held up really good. It is the equivalent of the flow master super 10. The muffler guy has the FM super 10 at his shop and compared it to my Amazon brand and looked inside and he said it had the same welds as the FM. Great video, I am preparing for this but also the harmonic balancer. I have a feeling the cold weather is all the sudden causing some of them to fail, I already saw 3 posts about it on FB. My EGR is disabled at the moment but the delete is coming next. I already hate how long it takes to warm up.
@@CateraMV6 the harmonic balancer is a must for sure. I took have seen the post on FB for some unfortunate people as it that rubber going out mid drive
Can hou have both rear fog lights on the Q8. I have left hand drive but need RH fog lights to work in UK. Regulations.
@@christinepatterson1185 I have not changed out the rear fog lights on the Q7, they are still OEM. With that said I can still drive with the front dog and the rear fog lights on at the same time. I just have to have the light switch by the steering wheel in the correct position
Great video! Is it easier to remove exhaust side pipe coming from turbo when you were replacing oil cooler gasket?
If I am understanding your comment, you are referring to the EGR pipe that comes from the hot side of the turbo to the EGR cooler. So with that pipe it doesn't matter which side you remove first
Any suggestions on an 09?
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the 2007-2012 generations of TDIs
And there hard to find a y pipe for q7 TDI
How do you have a y pipe for your q7 TDI I want one of those

Am going to replace old bulbs with LED ones. I am encouraged by this good video.
You'll notice a big difference from OEM

Hey Mark, Do you drain the Adblue from the two tanks or leave it there? I was able to drain the small front tank, but do not know how to drain it on the big rear tank? Any idea? Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks
@@svann471 what I did to drain the ad blue was from the hose that connects to the dpf. Removed the hose that connects to the dpf and with a drain pan to collect what ever left I had in the tank. As for there being two tanks I am unaware of there being two
Cmon you can see the car is closer to the wall with the new led lights. Look how much bigger the door appears
For the first and second comparisons of just the headlights, the car remained in the same exact spot. All I did was change the headlight bulbs. Didn’t move the car. When I did the headlight restoration, the car was not in the same spot because time had gone by, but I got it close to where I marked it on the floor and I didn’t record that part when doing the third comparison. Now… for your theory of the door size and distance makes no sense what you are talking about. If the car was farther away the door would not appear smaller, nor the other way around if the car was closer the door would not appear bigger. This all depends on where I am standing as I was recording. I will say I wasn’t standing in the same spot for all 3 comparisons but that doesn't affect the light output of the light because I am not the source of light, the headlights are. And they are at a fixed location. I may move closer or further to the door but the light output will remain the same. If somehow the laws of physics stopped working and your statement was true, then when I did the 3rd comparison @15:43 with the headlights restored, the door was smaller so that means the car was further away and the light output was still better when the door was bigger. Now cmon, were you serious?
Nice content, subbed cause I had a modded B6 S4 and now a Q7 TDI. Considered the EGR delete but I'm in a visual inspection state.
@@Wanderer25 nice! Yes, that is very unfortunate. Don't know how much they check but would you be able to just do the tune with the deletes and just have the EGR as paper weight. This is how I was for few years only had the tune with EGR coded out
@markb6s4 The tdi system is fairly new to me. I didn't know the delete and just keeping the part there was an option. As for the downpipe and cat converter goes it's just like a gas motor? Is exhaust work in the plans for your Q7?
Dude your doing the work of das people 😉 awesome vid very informative. I will definitely be using it when it comes time to tackle my Q7 which is hopefully later than sooner.
@@shawnradtke7506 that's why I make these videos to help out!
Hello Mark, Great video, as always! Since you have stage 2 with Prime-Cat, DPF (Full Delete), do you not need to re-tune with the EGR and Cooler Delete? I wanted to do the same since I have stage 2 TuneZilla. Great that you share a SUSTDI website.
@@svann471 when I got my stage 2 tune. I selected the EGR delete and the other deleted stuff options. So for about few years the EGR cooler was just paper weight on the engine. And when I finally did this kit there was nothing I had to do.
@@markb6s4 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I just deleted my DPF and EGR (block off EGR with block plates). I am considering doing the EGR cooling delete next using the same kit from SUSTDI.
@@svann471 I recommend it and it gives you a good opportunity to also change out the gaskets if the oil cooler. From what I have seen and also experience the oil cooler with time does tend to fail and create a pile of oil / coolant in the valley area of the engine
Appreciate the video very much. Im trying to remove the DPF (diesel particulate filter) and along with Erwin manual and your video, its going. Slowly but going. Couple comments: reason to remove metal hinge fitting rather than rubber hose to SCR additive injector is because this method prevents leak out of fluid. Annnd... access to the hidden 3rd. Nut on downpipe flange is a nightmare that i havent solved yet. Your suggestion for 15" of extensions, with a universal at the 12mm socket doesnt show where to access. And this may differ between cars OR having air ride UP position may be quite less opening than mine without air, but up on ramps. That one is a PITA for sure. Thanks again.
I can happily say , I was able to get my motor removed just by the diagrams and explanations of these videos. Thank you for making these videos and I hope they continue on. 💪 thanks again!
@@SKLLY-gg1nf your very welcome. I'm glad these videos have been of help and that's my main reason for creating these videos
Awesome video, the install didn’t look too bad just looking at my car but this lays it out in amazing detail.
Happy to hear this is of help!
Great Videos as always Mark, where did you see that Malone tune does delete vacuum solenoid valve's which operates EGR and coolant bypass valve. In the add-ons descriptions only says "Remove DPF, Adblue,.EGR, and/or Intake Swirl Flap" on their website. I guess what i'm trueing to ask are you sure those vacuum lines are not needed any more for coolant bypass valve specifically? How was your experience with the kit and using car after install! Any issues ! Thank you for the help!
@@MilanDisljenkovic that is exactly what you need selected as you mentioned. Vacuum lines that are plugged had to do with the EGR cooler itself. Since that got removed, any wire harness to it doesn't send a signal to the EGR any more which means no CEL. Though there is still vacuum on the lines that are left, it's really not being used anymore And no issues at all
@@markb6s4 Thank you for the feedback Mark. Appreciate that. Was not sure how this will affect that coolant bypass valve since that is vacuum operated.
Great video! Thanks for putting this together. 2015 CD here, deleted and running Oakes tunes. I want to get rid of the egr crap and clean my intake, this helps a lot. I do have one question, what is the "solenoid" you are removing at 27:00 minutes?
@@OverHereAndOverThere Audis fancy name for it is (Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Control Solenoid. Part# 1K0906283A). And happy to hear this video is of help!!
@@markb6s4Thanks for the reply. Interested in doing my car?
@@OverHereAndOverThere haha I don't know. It was a two day process.
you should add more hastag to your video, including the touareg and the cayenne, lexus

He did the final fluid check incorrectly but corrected it here! ua-cam.com/video/FXI4AqBXtds/v-deo.html Just reposting to make sure someone does not underfill haha.
Great video but a few corrections. You don't need VCDS, you can check the temperature with an infrared thermometer OR any birectional scan tool that can read the Trans Control Module. Also, you are supposed to check the fluid/let the trans drip out the excess while the car is running and in (P). If you check while OFF you will drain excess. Just a tip for others!
Yes you are correct. VCDS isn't needed and any scan tool to read temps works the same. If I could redo that portion of the video I would of mentioned that. And yes you are also correct on the filling portion, read your other comment. Thank you!
nice videos !
Thank you
Wow what a great video! Just afraid of doing all that work man. I have a high pitch noise on the EGR actuator valve. If I remove the little vacuum line from it, the noise goes away.. any harm driving it that way? What happens if I just disconnect that vacuum hose?
Yes, and because the EGR is exhaust gas recirculation. So what's happening is the exhaust is being sent back into the pipe. And exhaust is HOT air. If the lines are plugged, removed, etc. The actuators inside the EGR cooler won't be functioning. So the cooling won't be happening and you'll be sending hot exhaust straight back into the manifold. Then which will defeat the purpose of the clean air going through the intercoolers. You may be at risk of melting some stuff in the long run. The intake pipe and manifold are plastic. Another solution is if you get the car tuned with the EGR stuff all coded out. And I did this for about 30,000 miles til I finally removed the EGR cooler. With that coded out I didn't get any CEL. So it shuts off the EGR valve so that no exhaust is being recerculated. And that why in the video part when it was time to clean I didn't have a lot of carbon build up. Hope this is information is of help 😊
@@markb6s4Thanks! Vacuum line is still connected, just has a high pitch noise coming from that EGR actuator valve. Car drives fine, just not sure if its actually doing the job or what…

@@chelo9724 The cheapest route is to get it tuned with the deletes coded in. Once it's coded the EGR just becomes paper wait until it's removed. And I had it as paper weight for 30,000 miles
@@markb6s4 who does that? Malone?
Hey mate we haven't spoken in a couple years..buddy I'm struggling to find a engine wiring harness for my Auto S4 here in Australia I've struggled to source any parts for it..itsucks and has put my build on the back burner..can u suggest a company I can hit up whether it be new or used..please mate all the help you can give will be so appreciated I'm getting desperate to get my baby back on the Rd where she deserves to be...talk soon I hope u get this..and hope u still own your beauty
@@FalconCinevision just to confirm. You are looking for an automatic harness, correct?
Hi man i really am grateful for all your q7 videos helped me a ton What problems did you faced with the torn boot And what changed did you feel and when you replaced the differential oil earlier My prop shaft popped off in a pothole Although i someone managed to pop it back it i am skeptical Also my car is making vibration at low speed sharp turns people say its quattro rumble which is fixed by differential oil change
So I didn't notice any problems with drivability. My main concern was for any debre or a rock to some how just perfectly get through the torn boot and do some damage to the cv joints. To be completely honest I didn't notice any difference changing out the rear diff oil. I just new it had to be done since Im 100% sure it wasn't done with the 1st owner when they had it. I have all the records of what was done but diff and transmission oil was not on the list
When you removed the motor from the transmission , did you jack the from the transmission , while simultaneously using the cherry picker , to achieve the angle to remove it as well?
@@SKLLY-gg1nf that is correct yes
@@markb6s4 sorry I’m asking so much, I got the bottom 4 transmission bolts out. Does the intake have to come off to access the top 2 transmission bolts? And what’s the strategy on reaching the bolts on the side and with the starter?
@@SKLLY-gg1nf Sorry for the late reply. Just now seeing this. No, the intake manifold does not need to be removed. But all the sensors that are connected on the top rear part of the engine does help to give you more clearance in reaching the top bolts.
@@SKLLY-gg1nfand for the starter. If my memory serves me right. The bottoms bolt will remain in place bc of the passenger front axle. If you try to remove that bolt it will bump up against the axle. And for the top bolts of the starter that has enough clearance to be removed
Thanks for adding the timer. For those without temperature measuring kit, the time will be a useful gauge of operating temperature. Thanks
Sure thing. Your the 1st person to comment about the time. Good to know it was if value to add
Nice job

I'm far into this rabbit hole to turn back 😅. This is my forever car!
hey Mark. my s4 is cracking but won't start. have any ideas to help me figure what the issue may be ?
probabily crank sensor
Also would start with the crank sensor too. Crank sensor is located on the tranmission bell on the driver side. In the 2 oclock position when looking towards the front of the car. The connection is by where all the connection on the driver side on the secondary wall by the expansion tank is
@markb6s4 ill give it a look. any indicator to look for in terms of it being bad/need changing ?
@@L.da.don345 not really, can be with time the sensor going out
