Man. Normally I shy away from "shredder" drummers, but there is so much GROOVE in his fills, i never stop bobbing my head along with this video! Very powerful sound, very hip ideas, and a very killer groove.
What the hell are you talking about? He came up through the gospel chops scene with some of the best drummers on the planet. He is far from "underrated." People keep throwing that term around as if it has any merit whatsoever. Try again, bud.
VIC FIRTH, the only sticks I have ever used. PERIOD. Since my FIRST. Thanks to all at VIC... couldn't be happier. Nothing against the others, but just as in a happy marriage, never got interest in "trying" others... ;)
At first when Dave came in after Thomas Pridgen to fill in for the end of TMV's tour, I wasn't quite sure what to think. In fact I didn't think he had the technical ability to play his parts. However I came to the conclusion that my original thoughts were very wrong. Dave is a very skilled drummer, and in fact I respect even more for the time he spent with TMV because he played very tasteful. Drummers can learn a lot from the hard work that he has clearly put into his drumming, I'm a fan.
He is really good! Though personally, I think you should check out Benny Greb if you haven't already. I have to say next to Carter Beauford, he is my favourite of all time.
Yeah man same here I also have the snare and floor Tom at the same height and the toms 5 inches or so from the snare so you can move around effortlessly
Very true Sophia. You should try replying that directly to his comment though, instead of posting a new one lol. On a separate note, do you have any other photos or specially videos of you drumming? I would be curious :)
Sabian nano hats. Yeah, and they’re super cool! They were a signature Terry Bozzio cymbal, from his “Radia” series. You might find some on reverb, but be prepared to pay some cash for those! A cheaper option would be some splashes out on an x-hat stand and tightened real nice. Not the same thing, but it’ll sound kinda like it maybe?
@DaveElitch Thanks for sharing this Dave, not sure why your comments seem to appear and dissappear or show as spam. Great playing by the way and the kit sounds awesome.
Yeah, I heard that fill at 1:15 as well and it blew my mind. The dude can play and he is grease lightening fast on the snare drum when he gets going on just it alone. I would love to know what rudiments he was playing on the snare in that and a few other of the fills he did. The guy who is going to watch the kick ass female drummer is going to be disappointed. Anyway, stay loose and keep on drumming. Over 40 yrs for me now, drumming that is. Love it, love it, love it. God Bless all.
Dave, you're so deep, no drum company could ever understand you.
Man. Normally I shy away from "shredder" drummers, but there is so much GROOVE in his fills, i never stop bobbing my head along with this video! Very powerful sound, very hip ideas, and a very killer groove.
Whoa can this guy play. Love his attitude too!
Man Dave elitch is one of the most underrated drummers out there. He’s so good man.
What the hell are you talking about? He came up through the gospel chops scene with some of the best drummers on the planet. He is far from "underrated." People keep throwing that term around as if it has any merit whatsoever. Try again, bud.
This still inspires me in 2020.

Sabian nano hats. Yeah, and they’re super cool! They were a signature Terry Bozzio cymbal, from his “Radia” series.
