And the winner is.... watch to find out!
Winning recipe here: sweetpotatosoul.com/2021/02/b...

Kitchenaid mixer go.magik.ly/ml/150pd/
🍪 COOKIE NOTES 🍪
None of the cookies turned out cakey like I thought they would be from the look of them. They have plenty of sugar and fat, so no cakey cookies here.
One of them was especially chewy and gooey. My favorite :)
I tested the winning recipe again to make sure I really did love it. I actually made a very exciting addition to the recipe, and now I think they are the best chocolate chip cookies. Recipe on my blog sweetpotatosoul.com/2021/02/b...

Flax wins for sure, and don't chill it overnight.. and definitely don't roll it into a ball. Scoop it directly when the batter is made.
I like applesauce as an egg substitute
You can reduce some sugar w that too!
I usually use that too
How do you get rid of the apple taste tho
@@yassine8935 I've use all natural apple sauce no added sugar and I don't taste it
@@yassine8935 There's no apple taste if you use unsweetened and here's an exact ratio that you are supposed to use to replace eggs Replace one egg with 1/4 cup of applesauce in sweet desserts. If you want a lighter texture, add an extra 1/2 teaspoonful of baking powder, as fruit purées tend to make the final product denser than the original recipe.
The sheer number of sweet potatoes you have on your counter is inspirational.
Haha, thank you! And I replenish every week at the market. They are the true perfect snack 😜
1:45 Can we appreciate this INCREDIBLE KitchenAid bowl?! My goodness, it is so so spectacular *.* (noticed it at 0:25 already and could not wait to see it in all its glory)
Had never seen these before, love it!
I need to know where it came from 🙌🏻
@@305nt I guess it could have been from the official website ;P They have plenty of ceramic ones! Having said that, not as nice as this one
Thank you! I love it so much!! So fancy 😜
It’s beautiful!
Wow I got here so early lol but I’m new to your channel since going vegan in January and this video is coming at perfect timing!! Love me some cookies, love your content and also those curls!! Thanks for sharing!💕
Yeeey, I'm so proud of you! Keep going!
Thanks Mell! Hope you like these cookies. I love that you've become vegan 💖
My favorite curly girl has gone vegan!! WOW. All the good things rolled into one!!
@@gibsonlyle5148 I prefer trust and legal actions, no thank you.
🙌🏽 that Bobby Brown remix though 🙋🏾♀️🥰🤭
I was jammin!
Yes!!
I’m distracted by the fashion! You are serving us 🙌🏾
Thank you so much, Joi!
Sooo beautiful!
Awesome. Thanks for that.
Next time, try to beat the aquafaba until it reaches peaks.
Its optional, but you can add a tsp of vinager per 120ml of aquafaba and that will help the aquafaba to stabilize when baking.
Just beat that the same way you would beat egg whites. It takes a little more time but it gets there.
you should try whipping the aquafaba first ever slightly
I love chocolate chip cookies, I’m just glad it can be vegan, I can’t the dairy at all! I’m learning and I’m diabetes and high blood, Just trying to get my life together!❤️❤️
good luck to you on your journey!!! keep trying out vegan recipes 🌱
Have you considered using erythritol? I don't have diabetes but use it often because I honestly can't discriminate between it and white sugar.
I admire the effort, but I honestly don't use any egg substitute in cookies and they still turn out great 🍪
She does substitutes mainly due to Animal Cruelty in factory farms and maybe some for her health as animals health. Unless if u mean that u just exclude the egg and they still are good?
@@BirdmanVeganFuture think that’s what they mean as I made cookies from tasty and there was no egg replacer turned out amazing
@@abbeys1816 sounds good :) I've done it with pancakes and they were fine, a bit better with apple sauce as a egg replacer tho.
@@BirdmanVeganFuture Yes, I just omit them completely :) I follow the "VEGAN OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES" recipe, by "It doesn't taste like chicken" blog.
It's perfection! 😍
@@biancaneves3346 :)
"Good luck! See you soon!"
d'awwwwww ❤
I forgot to add egg replacer once and they turned out amazing so I've never bothered with it for cookies.
Fr??? U really suggesting that I leave out the egg substitute all together?
@@mrs_morrow318 I make delicious vegan cookies without egg replacer! I found a really good recipe on Pinterest that’s my go to!
@@msprissy630 thank you for responding! can you link that recipe? i'll get back to you as soon as I I try it 😽
Would love to see this style video with vegan waffles or pie dough!
Thank you for doing this fun video! I usually alternate between our family favorite oatmeal chocolate chip recipe and new chocolate chip cookie recipes I come across. We always have cookies in the freezer! My favorite egg replacer for these types of cookies is flax as well, and my favorite vegan butter is Miyoko's Creamery. I'm excited to try your final version with the added expresso and cardamom! Thanks again!
They look delicious! Thank you for sharing another wonderful video. I love every one that you post. ☺
I love using the flax and applesauce in baked goods, comes out delicious every time!
I love your videos!!! I appreciate your channel so much. Thank you for all these delicious recipes 😋
I love these experiments and testing vegan replacement ingredients! saves us sooo much time, please make more of these videos
I always do flax eggs as 1 tbsp flax and 3tbsp water
Glad to hear I've been using the best replacer out there!! Love it for the added nutrients and it's so easy to make- always have it on hand.
Love this! You are adorable! Thanks for this video!!
Absolutely loved this vid!!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩
Well I’m just here for the taste test! 😋 I can’t wait to try some.
Demonstrations are great and saved the viewers time.
I love the kitchen aid bowl! So pretty
So glad I came across your channel! I am going to have to try these.
You've made my day! I've been using flax or chia if I don't have flax seeds. I was wondering if there was anything better and now I know. I'll stick with my tried and true! Love your videos!
This video is exactly what I needed!!!
This is so interesting !! Thank you for this hard challenge 😜
Super cool informative and fun! Please do more like this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😋😋😋😋
I'll eat the rest for ya! Thanks! LOL Loved this video, so helpful! Love the old school background music vibes too 😎🍪👏🏼
Thank you!!!
Thanks for this. I was about to recreate my chocolate chip cookies and I was curious about this specifically.
I've used aqua faba but I whip it up into a meringue first. That might help your cookies to spread more.
I do the same when I make baked donuts, just fold in the meringue gently and it should give them a great texture!
Thanks for this!
Informative and fun to watch. I never would have expected oatmilk as an egg replacer.
*and please do more experiments!!! It's interesting, like your channel. :)
I love everything about this!!
Thanks for this test video
Wow I didn’t know I needed this in my life 😻
Great comparison video 👍!! Many thanks
The blue kitchen aid bowl 😍😍😍 so beautiful
that blue bowl 😍😍😍 that cream colored sweater 😍😍😍 that necklace with the cream sweater 😍😍😍 😊
That bowl! I love it!
Yay, you‘re using a scale! Also, these look amazing 😍😋!!
I can't wait to try those recipes Yum 😋
I use a slightly different flax egg (1 Tbsp ground flax + 3 Tbsp hot water), but it's my standard for cookies, muffins, quick breads, etc. I have great success with it in that kind of recipe. I keep saying I'm going to try aquafaba with some recipes that need more of a meringue-type texture. Flax is never going to give you that.
Nice!
The flax egg cookie definitely looks the best 😍 I don’t use aquafaba often, but it makes the best banana bread when whipped. The texture is so light.
Its been so long since ive commented. These cookies look delicious. I was thinking the aquafaba would have been the winner. But im definitely going to try the flax cookies for my road trip snack thursday. Im loving the editing updated style in this video too. As always thank you girl.
Yes. I love these types of testing videos. Could you do one with different toes of flours? Like is there a real reason to use buckwheat flour instead of plain flour? Also to use chickpea flour is “better” for protein content but does it change texture and taste? great video thank you!
Yes, let's do that. Thanks for the idea :)
Great video!! Loved it!
Best cookie comparison video for vegan baking! Thank you Jenee! I love how descriptive your review is (and so expressive and loaded with that sweetpotat energy as always)...
Thank you so much ❤️
Loved this video!! Flax cookies look bomb❤️❤️
Thank you!!!
I love when ur vids are recommended in my feed 🙃
Great video! Love cookies 🍪
Thanks Ronald!!
Great video! - Loved it!
these all look so good now im hungry
Love this!
Wow. Thanks for this. Never thought of using flaxseeds as a egg replacer. !!! Noted
Thanks for the inspiration. About to make some flaxseed cookies because they create a nice consistency. I think if you put one of each onto the baking tray and use the same volume of liquid it would be a better comparison as they would also have the same amount of cooling time.
New here and I am so glad I found your channel. I am a flexitarian and love vegan recipes. Thanks for sharing.
Chia seeds and flax seeds always make the best egg replacers in recipes
yeah I forgot about chia seeds
And that’s why oats are ✨magical✨🤩
Aren't they?!
I love the flax egg one myself! I don't usually refrigerate them and they spread nicely.
Nice! I'll try skipping the chill too.
This is so crazy lol i just finished experimenting with cinnamon flaxseed cookies because my daughter was begging for cookies
Funny! Those sound amazing!
I love choc chip cookies! TFS!
so much fun to do ! I would love to bake them with youngsters for a nice taste test.
I loved this experiment! Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Do you have any oil free cookie recipes?
I love cookies!!!! Thanks
My favorite cookie recipe is Ovenly's secretly vegan salted chocolate chip cookie recipe. There's no egg replacer or butter in the recipe, which means that I usually have all the ingredients at home 😅
The cookies spread nicely and are delicious even without the extra salt on top.
Yummy!!
All of these look delicious. I just love me some cookies.
Beautiful queen!
This is making me soooo hungry.
loved this -- the results shocked me for sure!!
my mom and I have gotten these dash mini waffle and bundt cake makers. We love using the nora cooks recipes for vegan waffles (vegan gluten free version is the easiest) -- would love to see you play around with substitutes for flours, milks, or eggs.
And the bundt cake maker makes yummy vegan cornbread and cakes! Hope you get to check them out -- again: nora cooks is our vegan recipe go to.
PS -- we signed up for Purple Carrot back in Oct using your code and we love it!!! ✨
Why did I watch this! Now I want chocolate chip cookies 😩 I always use flax as an egg substitute in my baking and it always turns out good. The omega 3’s and fiber are a great bonus.
My favorite vegan cookie recipes use applesauce as a binder. My Darling Vegan’s recipes. Especially their chocolate chocolate chip!
Oooh, I will try their recipe for sure. Thanks!
I wanna see something like this again but with different brands of vegan butter
I honestly love all vegan butters. 🧈 I don’t discriminate
I recently made nestle recipe with coconut oil, 1/2 the sugar, and flax (3:1) eggs. They were amazeballs!
I'd love to see you come out with a raw vegan soulfood cookbook. And I always use flax seeds as an egg. Im proud of how they came out with the cookies. They never disappoint.
looks yummy
This was an awesome video! I prefer flax egg over anything thus far. I love this style of video. How do you feel about cooking seitan?
I agree! Flax is always the best for vegan baking
Love this comparison! Have you thought of doing a comparison for Alfredo sauce? Cashew, cannelini, cauliflower?
Flax works great in my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Flax is my favorite egg substitute. Great video!
Same here! Thanks for watching :)
I loved this thank you. I make hummus all the time and throw so much of the water away. My son loves cookies so even though not the best I will try to make it work with the left over water from chickpeas.
A cabbage Turkey? I am going to have to find that now.
I live your channel. Be blessed
Make sure the aquafaba you use isn’t salted!
Love the video! I am excited to try flaxseeds as an egg alternative :)
What would be your way of making vegan banana bread?
Genius 💚 💚
Love your sweet potato necklace!😍
I always used applesauce (1/4 cup) and baking soda (1/2 teaspoon) for my egg in baking.
You look amazing in that shirt 🔥 great video as always
I use flax or applesauce. I make awesome peanut butter cookies that taste just like my grandma used to make with a traditional recipe and just use flax for the eggs. For my flax eggs though I use a rounded tablespoon of ground flax and 3 tablespoons of warm water per each. The cookies turn out crispy on the edges and bendy chewy. They just don’t hold the hatch marks, but the flavor and texture is just like my childhood. Great video. Loved the music. 💚
Thank for the recipes.🥰 What do you use to grind your flax seeds?
Happy Valentine's Day💝
I absolutely love your channel. So if I can't use sugar (cancer survivor), what is a good substitute?
You’re looking extra stunning in this video 😊
This is wonderfully helpful as someone who isn't consistently plant-based, but is very lazy and always running out of eggs but wanting to throw together chocolate chip cookies and healthy cookie bowls.
I made my favorite recipe vegan last week used flax and that thing spread like crazy and was delicious you couldn't even tell
I like chocolate chip cookies made with chickpea flour. No need for a egg replacement and tastes amazing!! Don't eat the cookie dough though...uncooked chickpea flour leaves much to be desired.
You guys are killing the music. Those are classic songs. Let us hear it lol. Love your video of course ❤❤❤🥞
Thanks so much!
I use Flaxseed for my egg in this type of cooking.
"It looks exactly like an egg right?" No ma'am but it still looks good
Okay, but your blue mixer bowl tho...👐😍
🆒 I have done it all the ways, my fave is no egg replacer at all with Chocolate Chip. Cookies. Recipe is compliment from Fuss-Free Vegan.
