Their sound guys is one of the best in the business. The poor audio capture is due to camera microphones not being able to handle high SPL. Regardless of that the vocals are loud as in this mix anyhow.

I think this is probably the worst I have seen him sing on tour for the new album. That being said, his vocals are AMAZING compared to the first album. He has improved so much since the first album it is insane watching him live hitting almost every note.

Whoa Spencer's vocals are insane live
Finally, a vocalist who knows how to wield his voice correctly. So many vocalists today don't breathe correctly for best maximum results, and have terrible vocal tone. Sure, Spencer's intonation isn't always great, but it's a a thousand times better than many bands of today.
i heard a rumor that he is an instructor, either he's a fitness instructor or vocal instructor. either one he have a damn sexy vocal
hey look! Knowledgeable person! Seriously though, I'm still trying to figure out what he does with his notes above A4. It's like he totally shifts gears for those notes, and adds this weird slight rasp to the notes up to C#5, then gets super gritty onwards. Great breathing though
@@dumithegreat3892 that is what is known as a falsetto scream, like the ones at the end of Ragnarok and the last line of Luck as a Constant. Popularized by hair metal bands of the 80s. I don’t think he does any falsetto scream in Make Total Destroy however.
For real. I'm a huge Jesse Leach fan but he's struggled his whole career. Even left KsE for 10 years because of it

They played it for many, many years straight and are mostly sick of it. Especially tracks like Make Total Destroy or Icarus Lives. Would enjoy Racecar on the setlist though.

well they do somewhat a lot of finger movement on the guitar and i guess they'd rather not move around and be tight than move around a lot and mess up a lot
Yeah I won't hate on you for liking his style, but it just does not rub me the right way. Sounds way too much like emo for my liking. If it was a woman singing, I would have no problem with the vocal stylings but Spence sings like he's the victim of an involuntary castration or something. Like I said, just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like some of his parts, but he gets a lil carried away with his emo influences most of the time and it drives me up the damn wall. Can't stand emo.
It's not like the lyrics are emo, so i don't really see how it fits the style emo... A band with this caliber in terms of bass sound and drums, you kinda need a feminine voice to flatten it out, because otherwise, periphery would just sound like any other band. I really think that Spencer is a part of Periphery's identity now, and a big fucking NO to replacing sponce.

Spencer has improved so much. I used to think he just wasn't talented from his earlier performances, but he's shown he just needed a bit of practice. This is phenomenal.
