Hey Ryan, is it necessary for the I formation to talk with the partner where you both move after the serve? And do you need a fast serve or can it be slower as well?
With the rec level we play at I suspect this is the best move on a first serve only (if the second service is very easy/safe)? Thoughts? Also is the server ideally going for the T or does it not matter? Thx!! Loving these videos.
Great video. but What if they return with the Lob ? obviously if its short lob, its easy but what if they hit a good deep lob on the return ?? what then ?
Yeah that’s why if they wanna avoid the big mess of I formation they might try the lob but like honestly I think it’s best to let them lob, a lot will probably be too short or they’ll go for too much. Lob works the same doesn’t matter if you’re using I formation or Australian
This may not work well when the returner can hit a cross-court lob reasonably well. And in recreational tennis, the overhead smash is usually a weak shot that is prone to errors.

Didn't know that this is allowed. But it is an amazing strat.
Yep! The only person who has rules about where to stand on the court is the server. The other 3 players can stand anywhere.
In the I formation where should the server be serving ,wide or T
Serve to the body but the outside ground stroke and the ball will be pulled to the net player a lot.

the baseliner hits the lob back. no different than singles
