I’m sure that Anna has so many amazing qualities and we’ve seen a lot but from this video I think she needs applauding for not throwing her drink over herself while Tom was going over all the bumps!!!
Love Anna being honest with anxiety running loads the first time, but having the confidence to do it! keep up the hard work on the channel tom! love every minute of what you put up!
That young lass did a grand job in those conditions and reversing the trailer through an "S" bend to get into the clamp. Credit where its due to all on that wet silage job and a top video!
What farmers have to go through for very little reward in the grand scheme of things never ceases to amaze. Keep up the good work. And a very educational video as well ❤
Well done Tom you got there in the end. The team worked so well and the girls are great, its brilliant to see young lasses working on farms. Anna has a great attitude to work and a blooming, great sense of humour. Her first go at chopping in difficult conditions and she did it so well, its the best way to learn. 😊. Thank you for another great vidio Tom. 💜
The big ginger fella is right. It looks a lot better in the clamp than in the field.. also top tip when backing silage trailers is to slightly tip the trailer (not enough to spill the load) so you can see under the body….
What a nightmare ..... Hopefully the silage will be ok. Might need to add an anti toxin pinder into your TMR so as to avoid the cows getting sick on bits of soil in the silage. Anna was amazing, taking on the challenge despite her fears, well done young lady and well done all fir getting the job done safely.
Its quite exciting seeing Anna doing it for the first time, kinda jealous to be honest, I (67 young) have never driven a tractor, so I would be crap, but it would be good to try.
Tom , Anna and Katie done a great job, Well done ladies 👏👏👏 I would cringe at the thought of driving a tractor and trailer forward let alone reversing it around corners . You don’t realise just how wet the ground is until you see the tractor marks everywhere in the fields I’m sure I heard somewhere it was the wettest May on record but I could be wrong. Great video as always and great teamwork with everyone 👍
Anna is doing a good job in difficult conditions. It amaze me that you can rut/track the field up like that and not have long term damage. I live in the US mid-west. We have very fertile land on my farm here but if we rutted/tracked it up like that it would reduce yields for years. The subsoil compaction would be horrendous. I am guessing that with your high water table that your soils must be very porous. The differences are what make your videos interesting to me.
I adore Anna and I don't remember the other young woman's name, but they really are stars. This is the year that you will be telling stories about to Harvey some day. Oh Harvey, you should have seen the summer of '24!!! It will get better, Tom.
Hey Tom Anna rocked it big time and you two together are tops. Working with women is great fun as an ex-chef I loved the banter and everything else when working with them. Great to see more of Anna as well.Hope you are all well and safe take care, Matt.
Well Done Hannah!! Fair play👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 think you need a vibrating motorway/tarmac roller to remove the ruts. You’re all doing the best you can with the hand you’ve been dealt. Get the slurry on and get better second cut!!! Hopefully it will be a silk purse out of a sows ear.
You need to do farm drone shots of the entire barn/clamp compound after each addition so those of us that look at Birks Farm on Google Earth can see the difference. Huge difference in the last 3-4 years. Well done Tom.
Girl power, like how they instantly took over your channel. To be honest with how wet those fields are, I don't think it would have mattered when you cut the grass think you were just lucky to get around with the mowers. 👍
My first time driving our New Holland T7.315 next to the harvester, i was terrified. But soon got the hang of it and even in the dark i could steer clear of the harvester and stay in formation...
This is maybe the first you experience the wettest way when you're going to chop hay & drive on a wet soil! Great video Tom, When I am done with working I said YES, New video from Tom Pemberton! Much love to all the farmers in the world to give us the best milk, crops, vegatables,.......
More of anna and katie please. For us girls our there, it is heartwarming to see, even the oldies like me, who have changed careers ar a lste stage from the corporate world to growing medicinal herbs. Great video as always. Pxxx
If you are trying to improve your silage, I am going to be so bold as to suggest side sheeting your pit. I find you get a much better seal around the edges, so less wastage. As you clamp is now covered you won't get the same rain water collecting in the low spots. Side sheeting, clingfilm, then the excess side sheeting pulled over and then a top plastic sheet. Covered with galebreaker webbing and weighted down with straw bales or sand bag, whatever. Unlike what the weather throws at you, the clamp is 100% within your control. Hellish weather. Hard luck 😢
Oh my word Tom, that field is more “than damp”. It is soaking wet. What a difference between 2023 vs. 2024. I know you know there was little you could have done with the weather. Horrendous rain in your region.
Holly crap Tom your first cut nightmare this year! It happens us all some times we got caught last year on first cut but thank fully here in the west of Ireland it’s worked ok
Anna is a female version of Clarkson's Kaleb. Breath of fresh air. See what the analysis of the silage is. If not great it would do as a buffer feed when your cows are at grass. Cows out during the day and in at night works well and try and get better silage from the other cuts.
Ye must have right bad weather there. We are in the south of ireland. And the ground and weather have be very good. All first cut were taken out with good conditions. Second cut has started in some places now.. but its not to bad.. cuts are light. But dry..
The only consolation I can offer is that you have not been alone with the issues. Seen a number of Tractors and Choppers stuck in fields across the last few weeks in my travels around the country. No help? No didn't think so!
Fantastic video Tom very nice to see your letting the girls have a go it’s great to see one thing I think would benefit your silage clamp is having lights in the roof the light it up when your working at night it’s a difficult job but your making best of of the situation and getting it done maybe look at subsoil the paddocks ? 🙂
It’s great to see some of the reality of farming thinks rarely go right with farming unlike a lot of your videos if it’s not the weather it’s sick or dead animals or machines breaking farming is usually dealing with problems
Fingers crossed for your first cut. I don't know how many of your chops I've seen so far but this is the first one that I can't tell where the line of swept grass is in the drone video. It's all the same color, cut, non cut, swept, not swept, rough!
That grass is just a salvage harvest isn’t it. Surely itll be full of soil contamination 😔 Hope it goes well, least it’s in the clamp I suppose. So difficult this year for sure 🌾 🚜 Well done Anna on the driving and hauling, fantastic 😊👌🏻
It was bad but its fixable bit of a roll and couple of weeks it will look much better, at least you got it lifted and its in the pit, i mowed 30 acres of 3rd cut few years back and lost it all forecast was wrong and it never stopped raining and it rotted into the ground lovely reseed grass, i felt sick like never before but shit happens we move on 👍
Anna is a breath of fresh air on the video!!! I’ll bet she did great
She really is😊❤
What’s her OF? Asking for a friend
I was enjoying the Girl Power on display in the tractor ❤
Women in agriculture has always been essential for farming prosperity 🙌
Then Tom came along and spoilt it 😂😂
I’m sure that Anna has so many amazing qualities and we’ve seen a lot but from this video I think she needs applauding for not throwing her drink over herself while Tom was going over all the bumps!!!
Love Anna being honest with anxiety running loads the first time, but having the confidence to do it!
keep up the hard work on the channel tom! love every minute of what you put up!
Anna and Kate did an awesome job!!!! YOU GO GIRLS!!!!
OMG Tom, Anna is so skilled and a fast learner. I love her brave spirit
That young lass did a grand job in those conditions and reversing the trailer through an "S" bend to get into the clamp. Credit where its due to all on that wet silage job and a top video!

Anna is the shit, love her attitude and sense of humor
The new roof looks amazing, what an upgrade for the farm!
Anna, optimism is your thing! Katie & yourself are good at what you do, together with Luke. Top Heardsman, keep up the good work guys.
A great team!
👏👏👏 Well done Anna !! Baptism of fire Tom , first time silaging , and the fields are like swamps ! I think shes done a great job for a first time 👍👍
Love the crack when Anna and you get together 😊👍
Great sidekick. Even in a tractor her hair is great. She adds alota humor. Keep adding her. 😊
The big ginger fella is right. It looks a lot better in the clamp than in the field..

"It's pregnant. It was f***** a long time ago", had me rolling. I'm going to have to start using that one Anna😂
Skid away . Wow yes wet . Well it's a begining . Nothing dull about farming .
Thankyou you all .
i love anna she is a great hire to the farm. she has the best personality
Well done Anna. You nailed it! 🚜🚜🚜
Its quite exciting seeing Anna doing it for the first time, kinda jealous to be honest, I (67 young) have never driven a tractor, so I would be crap, but it would be good to try.
Not as hard as it seems. As an experienced man once told me. Tractors go where driver drives them. 👍
Congratulations Anna massive well done, I would love to have a go at this Tom looks amazing and skill in it self
Tom , Anna and Katie done a great job, Well done ladies 👏👏👏 I would cringe at the thought of driving a tractor and trailer forward let alone reversing it around corners . What unbelievable rains you have had this year. Keep the ball rolling dont let the wet spots get you down.
Well done , Anna!

Good you got it in, in a good condition. Well done to Anna on her first carting experience she was a pro at it
You need to do farm drone shots of the entire barn/clamp compound after each addition so those of us that look at Birks Farm on Google Earth can see the difference. Huge difference in the last 3-4 years. Well done Tom.

Okay, haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but the “Transformer” buck rake at 11:20 is SOOO cool!

It may just be me but when the big tractors come out, I am like a big kid again lol. The drone footage was amazing as was the rest.
Oh my word Tom, that field is more “than damp”. It is soaking wet. What a difference between 2023 vs. 2024. I know you know there was little you could have done with the weather. Horrendous rain in your region.

Well done, girls done good
Nice job Anna, that would be scary to do the first time.
Keep at it. You're feeding the world.
6.26, Anna and Katie “thumbnail” brilliant 👌
Shame the weather didn’t play ball Tom. Go for quality with second cut?
Such a crazy year, prayers it will be better…
great video you did well considering it could have bean worse anna is a great addition to the team
It’s great to see some of the reality of farming thinks rarely go right with farming unlike a lot of your videos if it’s not the weather it’s sick or dead animals or machines breaking farming is usually dealing with problems

Lucky to get the grass off
This year .. !
U would be a long time picking
It with a small boat 🚢 &pitch fork
😂🤣🤣
Good morning Tom and family..!!!
Always a good idea to check the new roof clearance before tipping the bigger trailers lol. Good thing you made it so high. 👍🏼😈👍🏼🤣
Anna is awesome and.. Beautiful... Farm Girls!!
Your experience, this year, with bringing in the silage is very similar to what Sandy Brock of Sheepishly Me had to deal with in Canada. Wet mess.
The clam looks so good.
Anna and Katie cool dudes
