What time was it when you were at the Antique Mall? I only ask because I was there around 3 :45 yesterday. I told the friend I was with that Adam The Woo shops here. It's a small world, I guess.
Pay phones usually have their own number printed on them. Next time you see a pay phone, look for its number and try calling it with your cellphone. That should tell you if it works or not.
I don’t remember getting a dial tone before you put the money in. If the dial tone was operating when you pick up the hand set what would stop you from dialing and making a free call?
@@jennag1048 I think different payphones may have worked differently. I recall a dial tone when you picked up the phone, but if you dialed a number without paying a voice would say, “Please deposit 25 cents to complete this call” or something to that effect.
Oooo, love that area of Lakeland by Southgate! The old retro buildings are gorgeous! I remember when I finally got my Florida drivers license, I went to the DMV / tax collector on North Massachusetts Ave, and jaw dropped with that SERIOUSLY cool building design. Someone said it used to be the first Publix.
Love the blow mold. If it doesn’t light, you can try changing the bulb in it or replacing the bulb cord. They basically use a light similar to what you find in Christmas villages or lighted pumpkins at Halloween. C7 bulb on a cord. ☺️🎄🎅🏻
I remember as a kid being at an airport and there were pay phones everywhere. I racked up a couple of bucks in quarters that day from the phone coin returns!! 😀 📞
I was out filming in Lakeland yesterday too! Bummer that the Antique Mall is moving to a smaller spot. Their biggest draw “Recycling the Magic” which has that display with the water tower you showed is moving to Mt. Dora and that’s sad to hear too. I think I subscribed to you back when you made that Edward Scissorhands filming location video years ago. Glad you had a good time in Lakeland!
Be careful at the Lakeland Antique Mall with the blow molds. Some of their dealers are notorious for selling new blow molds from Lowe's next door for inflated prices.
Love the Steamboat Willie statue in the front of the store. Also, the Minion popcorn bucket. To think that globes were so common back in our day. Now you rarely see them. We need to make another visit to the antique mall again soon.
Anytime I need to wind down because of being overstimulated by the rest of the internet(and the world) I come to your channel and enjoy a piping hot beverage with you. Gracias, Adam! And Happy Holidays! ❤
Yes sir this year went entirely to fast just celebrated my wife Shirl and I are married 37 years and our grandson is turning 3 the years are flying by so enjoy the holidays with your family and enjoy your new adventures coming in the future 😊😊😊
Loved the Gingerbread blow mold you bought. I love blow molds. I have quite a few for Christmas & love putting them out every year. I have the Mary & Joseph you showed. It originally also had baby Jesus with it. My set was complete but one Christmas someone stole my baby Jesus & I had to buy another one to replace it. Blow molds really bring back the nostalgia of Christmas! Thank You for updating us on the Lakewood Antique Mall moving. Love going there when in town. Lots of fun stuff. Keep smiling!!😊❤❤❤
Most rest areas were built 50 plus years ago, back when travelers actually brought coolers with their own food . I remember when I was a kid stopping at rest areas with my family and most of the picnic tables would be in use
Adam, really enjoyed your video. Love your gingerbread Man in the cup! I had a cold caffeinated beverage this morning. Looks like lots of cool things in the antique malls. Looking forward to your next vlog.
Almost a year in your, truthfully beautiful house, something i thought would never happen, but here we are about to enter 2025, a home owner, and if everything goes according to plan, a whole load of new content, love it 😁
I also just found out yesterday that they're moving down the street to a smaller store which makes no sense because the current store is jam packed. Current owners want to rent to someone else.
I have the blow molds for you! My husband has over 200 stored, and he is interested in selling some. We would probably do a much better deal on them than the antique malls. 😄😄 PS: We're in Dunnellon
I have one of those Florida rest stops near me that is too close to my house to go to, plus they don't sell any food or anything else. I recently stopped there for the first time ever when my stepfather decided he should probably use the facilities because the next stop is over 50 miles away. So I finally got to visit and it's a nice little area, where you can picnic
Next time you are in Lakeland, you need to go to Decades reclaimed Vintage Depot at 502 West Brannen on the south side of Lakeland. Great Vintage shop to shop
I work at Lowe’s in NJ and we were pretty much cleaned out of all Christmas stuff when I left Friday. We bought a new tree for next year a few weeks ago because I knew we wouldn’t get one if we waited. We definitely didn’t get quantities of merch like previous years this year.
one thing about your globe is that it is outdated since many new countries have formed and other national boundaries have shifted since the time the globe was made. 27:48
That Globe is a great history lesson! Check out all the differences in Country Borders! There were only forty-eight States when that Globe was made, Hawaii and Alaska were just territories!
Congratulations on you're home I own my own one to althou it's only a 2000 not so good anymore since I moved it to where I'm here but it's mine and I love it so congratulations
Those two Rest stops at that location, eastbound and westbound, are the only rest stops left on I-4. I think there’s one still near or around Altamonte Springs, but it’s for trucks only. By the way, the rest stop you’re at has a working payphone. I commented on the payphone before seeing that you saw it
The tag on the Wise Man said the price was for the set of 3. Didn't see the other 2, but the one looked like it would need careful repainting. Merry Christmas Adam and all!
That awkward moment when you live in Lakeland and didn't know that until you see a UA-cam video of your favorite vlogger telling you they're closing smh
I like the Gingerman, maybe get some twinkle lights for it . A few years ago I couldn't give those Globes away at my garage sale.. I had the black one and two blue ones..gosh they might be in the attic.. i still use my blue globe from school days..
I'm so glad you got the piping hot caffeinated cup of coffee or cocoa with a ginger man glow mold. The globe is very pretty. I like the dark colors. I had a light blue one growing up. The Halloween minion is cute. It was a good shopping day. Nice video. Merry Christmas
Speaking of globes I been wanting 3 different kinds one vintage one on a beautiful ornate walnut or oak stand that sets on the floor and two modern ones one glass one that lights up lights up inside and looks like a really cool space age illuminated marble and one that's dark colors like it's night and you'll see city lights in all the country's but also still make out which is ocean sea or land without the lights on.
Trading Places with Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite Christmas movies. You should check that one out Adam if you haven't watched it in a while. Thanks so much for cheering up my day with your videos. Merry Christmastime to you! ❄⛄❄
You don't need to put in a coin before using the phone, you should always if you find them working check for a dial tone, Rare to even find a working model, the same as an old house phone connection, with a phone line, the payphone was for timed usage, you can still get landline service with a cable/Fiber company, most are phasing out copper wired phone services. Antique shopping or flea markets are fun, especially if you know what you're looking for. 1018 AM.☎
Love the Chucky popcorn bucket 😊 you’ve got quite a collection. I’m looking forward to seeing where you go to first to kick off your international travel ♥️ xxx
Hi Adam, I have a suggestion of a unique place for you to visit. Have you ever been to the Wonder House in Bartow? This place would be right up your alley. You would need a reservation and she accepts cash only. It is well worth taking the tour. Recommend going during the day for your first visit.
Who would have imagined you in a Woostead buying Xmas ornaments 10 yrs ago? Never have seen an intact payphone in Socal in eons, usually the handsets are ripped off and practically every other part destroyed. That one looks positively pristine. Loving your piping hot caffeinated beverage with a side of ginger bread boy❤
The Antique Mall may want to have their own area in a new location if u find out were there are moving to let us know, and take a tour of the new location. You are having a 7-11 coffee, I drink coffee from home most of the time. Thanks for sharing this and good morning.😎📸
I am Netflixing my way through Harry Potter! Those are my Christmas movies, and so happy Netflix put them all back on! And yeah, Die Hard IS a Christmas movie...and Die Hard 2 is actually my favorite.
Okay, Adam: did you go to the drone thing at Lake Eola last night? If so, you got some easy content, when the drones started falling out of the sky! That was pretty scary, until it turned out that it was a planned drone display, and they just messed up. If it's too late for the Celebration Presbyterian Christmas thing, you could just run last year's, or promote it again. I saw it last year.; it was really beautiful.

Tell me about it, I’m still trying to wrap my head around that I only worked half the year. I got my wife Six Flags NJ passes as part of her gift
What time was it when you were at the Antique Mall? I only ask because I was there around 3 :45 yesterday. I told the friend I was with that Adam The Woo shops here. It's a small world, I guess.
It's official kids from the 80's n 90's are now the ones that get to say back in my day, we're getting old Adam we're getting old.

Merry Christmas Adam to you, your friends and your family.
Merry Christmas and a blessed, happy New Year! Thank you for your videos.
The retro blow mold and globe are awesome you are keeping the classics going!
Love the blowmold! I have a few. I also vote to bring them back instead of blowup decor.

I lived in one of the homes that they filmed Edward Scissorhands in Land O Lakes Florida. It was the best time ever.
I’m Becky with Recycling the Magic. We have a small place in Mt Dora BUT we are opening our own store close to Disney.

There's a working pay phone in front of a convenience store in DeLand. It has a sign that says "Yes, it works!".
Ooo very cool !
I think you have to wiggle where the receiver rests if memory serves to get a dial tone
Nice relaxing day shopping with the Woo, thanks that was fun. Always fun shopping when it's someone else's wallet 😂

Nailed it. Awesome collection & Christmas cheer.
I think your blow mold lights up I bet it looks cool. Its fun to go out and find something neat when your on a treasure hunt.
It’s cold wet & windy here in the UK so nice to see some blue sky and sunshine in your vlog.
Merry Christmas Adam. Xx🎄🎄
It looks pretty light outside at 12:37 AM! 😅
Good find on the Gingerbread Man blow mold. And that globe reminds me of Elementary school days...
I have a bucket list in my head of driving down from NJ and bringing home something big from Lakeland

Very cool! And Hawaii and Alaska would not have been states at that time. Also, did you catch Russia and Alaska was shown as a huge land bridge!?
@@the4bones74 the tan color outlining the countries isn't land, maybe it's denoting shallower depth of ocean.
