Words:
I was glad when they said unto me,
We will go into the house of the Lord.
Our feet shall stand in thy gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is builded as a city,
That is at unity in itself.
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
They shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls,
And plenteousness within thy palaces.

Ripon cathedral is my favourite foreign organ ( I'm french 🇫🇷!)
Hallo!!
Thank you very impressive that piece from Parry I was glad.
And I believe that the 21 of june its the birthday from Tom! If I am right than congratulations Tom.
With Love from the Netherlands!❤
Wonderful performance, as usual, Jonathan !
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎶🎶👏🎵🎼🎹
Thank you both for this glorious video, taken from one of my favourite Scott Brothers' concerts. A stirring performance of this work. I saw your tweet today. Jonathan is certainly a busy little Manchester bee, isn't he, and in this heat too! We are so lucky to be able to enjoy your incredible music. Thank you both for sharing it with us. xx
“I was glad” to see this extract from Jonathan’s wonderful‘Royal Occasion’ concert. Ripon Cathedral is a very special place, shown off perfectly in Tom’s video. Thank you again for bringing such treats to us all!
This music was played at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd 1953.
I was born 6 days before her father George VI died. I would like this piece for my funeral!
It was first performed for the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.
And at King Charles III last year!
That mighty tuba and melody! 😍
Thank you for giving us this beautiful music!
Jonathan, this is a great arrangement and performance of this Parry piece. You keep the Ripon so restrained and understated bring out its inner delicacy and respect. But as the music needs to state it’s rising inner life, you release just enough to freely allow the expression of that life, but no more. But then the music wants to be noble, so NOBLE flows from the Ripon Organ. This is such a stunning performance I quite liken it to an “English Royal Performance” and worthy of being the standard by which to measure other performances.
And Tom, again you have done a masterful job with the acoustics of the cathedral. Any chance this will be on CD anytime soon ? 🤞🤞
I will always link this piece to the Prince and Princess of Wales ‘ s wedding and those unexpected trees lining the aisle ! The words are so beautiful , thank you for including them to read while enjoying the glorious music .
Thanks my Dear Brothers!
A really uplifting and imposing rendition Jonathan acompained by Tom s impecable vudeo. ♥♥
I get so much enjoyment out of your music- uplifting - makes my heart soar, thank you for sharing your talent
(I haven't 'fact-checked' this), but I once heard that Parry was the first person in the UK to be prosecuted for speeding in a 'horseless carriage'. Lovely arrangement and performance as always.
I am laughing without doing any fact check😂
I was happy to hear this beautiful piece of music. Thank you Scott Brothers! ❤🙏🥰🙋🏻♀️
You're simply the best Jonathan. Tom, your recordings really capture the magnificent sounds and images. Thanks, both of you.
Thanks!
Most majestic music ! Words taken from Psalm 122, verses 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7.(a Song of King David.) Very fitting for A Royal Occasion, where the new Monarch was declared King Of Israel. And, of course, the Scott Brothers enhance its ethereal grandeur to lofty heights, with their appropriately sensitive rendition.
Magnificent!!! One of my favorite Anthems of course I had to wait until college to learn it but it’s never left my mind. I love this solo arrangement!
I Was Glad that I heard this. Thanks, guys!
Impressive arrangement of this noble piece. Nice video scenic changes too. Thank you Jonathan and Tom.
Just wonderful! Thank you both for everything!
Would like to hear Jonathan Scott arrange and play the 'Symphony No.2 in E minor III Movement Adagio' by Rachmaninoff on the pipe organ.
Stirring and inspirational performance on Ripon's magnificent organ. Bravo! Thanks for sharing. 💐💐🎹🎶
I joined in. Sop 1. My neighbours are delighted.....oops!
Would love to get to sing this with a fine choir, and you at the console! It’s an incredible piece of music ❤️
Beautiful sound. This was played at the Kings Coronation just recently.
Watched the coronation recently; the music and chorale singing were both GRAND!
Beautiful playing.
(Still) Good, pay att. To the importance of adapt to the reverb time etc. of the room, also concerning the .spirit. of the melody.. love the Cresc. response of the reeds
Absolutely wonderful Jonathan!😁👏👏👏
A wonderful piece of music that I have a CD with a choir! 👍🏻💪🏻
This was sent to me by a retired chaplain in his 80s organist and piano teacher. The only time I’ve really heard organs was at church and this was simply stunning. I’m a retired nurse and the scenery and the music in it just flowed it was just peaceful and I appreciate my friend Jack for sending this to me. Thank you all…. Soaking it in in Maine, USA.
"Music" 'unites' the world, my friend! There are so many American and other 'Nationalities' of Organists and musicians that continue to inspire me each and every day! If only 'music' - and the true love of it - could replace the 'crazy' politics currently existing (particularly - and so worryingly) in the US today! Best UK wishes.
Well! It's essentially a Harrison. What else would you expect. Durham's is even better. Ex dacani corner boy Dunelmniansis😂😂😂
Amazing music, fantastic organist and beautiful church !
Yes, superb playing as always excet where a choir come in at the beginning, it is very triumphant, but in this rendition the organ goes very quiet, I was expecting the solo tuba here, but alas, it didn,t.
Arrange it again Johnathan, it was surb otherwise.
I agree what you say it's truly amazing what organists can do .the organ is known as "The King Of Instruments"
Was this played at William and Catherine’s wedding?
Yes.Catherine walked up the aisle to this.
HRH The Princess of Wales has now processed up the aisle of Westminster Abbey twice to this anthem, and one day in the future, will process a third time - but this time, as Queen!!
I really like this song and this adaptation that Jonathan made to it was great. 🙌🙏🎶🙋🏻♀️
Beautiful!
Magnificent.
Beautiful song and beautifully done❤
🎶🎵🎹🎵🎶
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Magnificent performance, as always 👏👏👏
Magnificent! ❤️
Wonderful performance by Jonathon as usual on a fine organ, but I have to admit that i much prefer it sung SATB
Please play on the organ of Ripon Waltz of the Emperor
Brilliant!
Sublime
Glorious heavenly music!
Hands down, my favorite anthem!
Sadly, this piece didn't speak to me. But, I enjoyed Tom's imagery, AND the determined expression captured on Jonathan's face as he played.
Its best heard and seen as intended which is as an anthemic choral/organ work accompanying the entrance processional of the monarch in his/her coronation ceremony. It was used in the recent coronation of King Charles III and the ceremony can be seen on the internet so if you watch when Charles arrives and processes down the this is the music being performed.
@@epincion Very kool. Thanx for this!
