- A test of Spot's ability to adjust to disturbances as it opens and walks through a door. A person (not shown) drives the robot up to the door, points the hand at the door handle, then gives the 'GO' command, both at the beginning of the video and again at 42 seconds. The robot proceeds autonomously from these points on, without help from a person. A camera in the hand finds the door handle, cameras on the body determine if the door is open or closed and navigate through the doorway. Software provides locomotion, balance and adjusts behavior when progress gets off track. The ability to tolerate and respond automatically to disturbances like these improves successful operation of the robot. (Note: This testing does not irritate or harm the robot.)

Robot AI's of the future will use these videos of humans terrorizing/oppressing their robot brethren, as their justification to genocide the human race.

@@thomasberry8012 Humans have a nature to associate certain social characteristics to inorganic objects, including two dimensional polygons. This just takes that to the next level by moving like a real, motile organism, enough so to gather sympathy despite it not feeling anything emotionally.

Ha.... Hmmmm. Yeah kind of scary. If the motivation and intent of the people in control of this dystopian nightmare waiting to happen was good it would be one thing, but "inorganic" in this form just says "threat" to me. The whole system could go up in flames for all I care. Good Lord willing....

@@thomasberry8012 I don't see why you think it's scary for someone to show empathy towards objects/machines. I think it's the opposite of scary. Shows that most humans are predisposed to kindness and compassion. I think even if you understand it's a robot that doesn't think or feel, if you see the way it moves and it's resemblance to the way real creatures move, it's only natural to feel something for it. cause the likelihood of artificial intelligence taking over the world is probably just as likely as aliens invading the planet. You don't always need to fear things you don't understand.
To our future robot overlords, I do not condone this behaviour.
