  • HOUSTON, Texas - In her latest book, All My Knotted-up Life: A Memoir, author and Bible teacher Beth Moore delivers a compelling self-portrait filled with unexpected twists and turns with the final destination being God's enduring love and faithfulness.
CBN News sat down with the prominent Christian leader at her Living Proof ministry headquarters in Houston, Texas. The interview came just days after the sudden loss of her brother Wayne who appears on the cover of her new book along with her other siblings.
"I just looked up to him, and just loved him so, so much," Moore said during the interview. "We are reeling. But I had gotten him an advance copy of the memoir and it just moved me so much to know that he got to see himself through my eyes in those pages."

SO many of us women in the 70's, 80's were sexually abused by brothers, cousins, uncles, neighbors... I don't know why those men ever thought it was okay to do those horrible things to a little girl... I speak from experience.

I can't help but wonder if there was influence from the 'free love' and 'anything goes movement of the 60's? I'm not condoning the behavior by any means or trying to explain it away. I too was a victim in those time frames you mentioned. So I was just thinking out loud about how we so easily allow certain culture changes and not expect there to be fallout. Bless you!

I agree. We tend to protect the abuser and not the abused. And the biggest mistake I have made personally, was that forgiveness somehow washed away the sin and made it ok to go back endure more abuse. We can pray for them, but in my experience, I will never allow my abusers access to my physical or emotional self again .

Abusers don't need to be forgiven - God only forgives those that 1) ask for forgiveness, 2)feel Godly sorrow for the specific crime, 3) repent and never do it again. Abusers are the walking dead most of the time and are never sorry.

@@junetaylor8396 Jesus specifically said that we are to forgive in Matthew 6:14-15 - "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."
Too many people think forgiveness is reconciliation but those are COMPLETELY different things. In order for TRUE reconciliation to occur, repentance and recompence need to happen first. 1) The person needs to understand what they did wrong and reject it. Very few victimizers do this! 2) If there's anything that can be done to rectify the situation, the person in the wrong must do it. 3) If the person who was wronged, feels it's appropriate, there can be reconciliation but never before steps 1 & 2 are done!

🥺🥺I believe that the sexual abuse of children in America is one of the key reasons we're being judged. In addition to the racial ugliness. Innocent blood has been shed and there's no repentance for it. The blood of babies and the mistreatment and murders of the enslaved. I pray that if it doesn't STOP, that God WILL come quickly and end this (for the sake of these poor children). It's hard to try to brave through abuse and put on a smiling face, when you're rerunning an assault in your head like a broken record. Then YOU the "victimized" must work through that trauma and forgive the monster. You have no idea how sexual abuse destroys a child's soul UNLESS you've gone through it. Justice, justice!!

This is exactly what happens when you say, YES! To Jesus. As you walk with Him, He changes your thoughts, your heart, and He teaches you how to heal to forgive the impossible. Without Jesus, nobody can do this. Never forget, Jesus loves these people, and He died for them too. All sin was poured on Jesus. He even knew God turned away from Him. God couldnt look at Him. Is what I believe. Jesus even called out to Him! My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me? Jesus believed He was forsaken by God. That was how Jesus felt, and believed. I dont, I believe God forsaken Jesus.I do believe this is what happened. God turned His back so He didnt have to watch. But Forsaken Jesus??? No Way!! Not even for a second. Jesus did exactly what The Father told Him to do. God never loved Jesus more, than in that moment. Yes, I do believe that.

If God allows me to discern something, then I know I need to pray first before saying anything. I ask God for the opportunity, an open-door of sorts, to step in with my thoughts.....but I start with a question. Like asking a pastor or leader "Why do you think very little young adults stay in this church?" Or "Do you think it's been effective money is spent that way?" That's just the way I do it to get conversation going so at some point I can say what I see the Bible saying. For me, I try not to be too straightforward because that didn't help in my marriage.🤪

Beth Moore nailed it. When I tried to open up to my youth minister when I was younger about what was happening to me at home he accused me of making it up to get attention. In the following weeks I had another youth staff member call me to meet with him. I went to the church and into his office for "counseling" and he told me he had a problem with masturbation and was there anything I could think of to help him. I knew then that no one was going to help or believe me and that now I was actually a target for people like that. I told him he needed to speak with another man about his "problem" and got out of there, but I couldn't get away from what was happening at home

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. God sees everything and even if noone believed you, God knows and He will repay. Sadly, there has been a long history of this in the church. These people are not saved and should not be seen as representative of the true body of Christ. They are predators and God will deal with them and hold them to account whether here or on judgement day if they have not repented. Scripture says "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God"! May He bring you peace in knowing that He is a "Just God" and that He knows and He cares about this! You are loved, you are valued and you are not forgotten. Forgive your abusers and let God Almighty deal with them. Hopefully they will repent before it's too late. God bless you.

My abuser was my stepdad. I think the reason I survived as “well” as I did, (I am referring to not turning to drugs or alcohol) is because I was saved at 9 years old. The abuse began when I was about 8 until 12 or so. My mom found out. Did nothing. Forgot about it. She found out again. Did nothing. Forgot about it. Repeatedly. Then after she passed I found a nasty letter she had written 10 years prior about me and some others; mostly me, and accusing me and my stepdad of being in love. I was 61 when I found the letter. My stepdad was a career military man and a pillar of the community. He taught Sunday school and was the church clerk. I couldn’t bear to hear him teach because I knew how mean he was at home. And somehow, I did still love him as a dad. He was the only dad I ever really knew for 50 years. My bio dad was kinda in and out. I told people over the years about the abuse and they either didn’t care or didn’t know how to help. Years ago, there wasn’t help so readily available.
I have a new respect for Beth. We never know what someone has been thru. I don’t agree with women preachers because that’s what the Bible says. But she has my respect.

There is always more to what we *_think we see in the Bible._* I know about the other verses in question, but make no mistake, *_God uses women in ministry._* Plus: in Christ, there is neither male or female, bond or free, Jew or Greek. We are all ONE in Christ *(Gal **3:28**).*
Ask God to clarify, but let this begin to put this division to rest.

@@justfelicia6671 of course women are equal but we have different roles. Women prophets ate fine but teaching men is not (and I'm a woman!). Memorize I Timothy 2:12. ALL scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit. There's a reason God says only men are to teach over men. Most men had bad, absent or so so father figures. They need godly male role models. Men grow from learning under a man. Men who grew up without fathers especially, they have a void and they've been taught by women their entire lives. They need to see a godly role model (often their first role model is their Pastor). Gifted women teach women, who need help more than ever in this crazy world. Let the men lead ladies!

I think most of her Bible studies were pulled due to her lgbt views and how she has changed her ministry. Her views on this are no way Biblical. This is due to her daughters lifestyle. We all love our children, but she has taken this way further than that. As a survivor of sexual abuse myself, I can totally see where she is coming from there. But I do not believe that is at the heart of why she had issues with her denomination and left as I know of people involved with her ministry at the time. I also do not believe cbn believes that is what the issue was. Because it is and was very much public knowledge because Beth spoke publicly about it.

I love Beth Moore! The church *_DOES NOT deal with sexual abuse and issues like this_* at all like it should. It's ignored. For instance, how are men supposed to come to God after abusing their own daughters, other little girls or boys or other women? How can men (particularly) ever truly be free? I'm willing. There has to be answers, but they must come from God.
They are always hiding. It seems like in their hiding, they can never get free.

Her biggest mistake was going woke. She pandered to the wrong people and as we've seen plenty in the last three years especially, it always comes at a price.

I think she may have his narcissistic personality. Very manipulative and still sees herself as a victim. Praying for the Lord to open her eyes to the division she's causing.

@@nellienegron809 shame on you. Open your eyes, lady. She wouldn't even rejoice when Roe v Wade was overturned because she was worried what her "woke" followers would think of her. Wake up!

This is exactly what happened to me in the church......my ex husband was,protected...the abuse was so severe.
I finally left him and the church abandoned me..parental alienation..slander..projection him playing the victim.....its was hell...but GOD was there...He really was ...

So true about churches not caring at all for molestation victims. They dismiss you completely. They simply will not address that childhood trauma of any kind exists. This is why I left all organized religion behind permanently. Ty for exposing this here.

Most churches are part of the problem because they're slaves to the 501c3. They don't have to pay taxes on the donations (tithes) they receive. It's about the $. Most of them merchandise God's Word, (that made Jesus pretty angry back when He was here- Matthew 21:12-13), with clothing, books, coffee baristas, etc., and have one foot in the world (various social media sites) in one form or another, and the other foot straddling the fence, only teaching the Word at a third grade level.
