Cops have been running roughshod for centuries; it's time to hold them accountable. And smartphones, technology, and all the cameras will do it. However, the other big hurdle is still the institution of law enforcement (Tin blue line - Unions) and the judicial system itself (qualified Immunity).

I find it insane that a police officer can beat up to death an innocent person, and you as a citizen, can only sit back and watch it happen. If you try to save someone's life from the police, you go to jail for life.
I'm 71, have never needed a cop for safety, or anything. One came to our aid once (in the '70's) and drove us the last 1/4 mi to a gas station once (busted guage on recent purchased car) then drove us back (hot wife, shorts, tube top) but we didn't need him. Can't think of a person in my big family that ever needed one. Never heard one person I know tell me they needed a cop for anything. Guess that would encompass safety?--Yep, me too.

I have never once seen unedited body camera footage from a law enforcement agency but I see unedited footage from first amendment auditors and cop watchers all the time.
Cops do not think that the constitutional rights of citizens merit any respect. They claim that there is an ongoing investigation to determine if any rules were broken, but the statement in the beginning from the police chief of police seemed to indicate that he has already decided that nothing was done wrong. And I don't believe there has ever been a police officer who has continued employment at any Police department after he has challenged the chief of police. At least not for a prolonged period of time. So it will come as no surprise that after they investigate themselves they find they did nothing wrong, the police chief has already said this is the outcome.

Hopefully, one day you can find your way to Crescent, City, California, and do some cop watching, and maybe some audits of our local law-enforcement. I have no reason to believe that our law enforcement is corrupt, but it does seem like it is systemic throughout the law enforcement community.

I have never once seen unedited body camera footage from a law enforcement agency but I see unedited footage from first amendment auditors and cop watchers all the time.
Cops do not think that the constitutional rights of citizens merit any respect. Cops have zero tolerance when it comes to prosecuting citizens they always stack as many charges as possible hoping at least one will stick. I wish citizens would force a ballot initiative to compel the firing of any law enforcement officer who violates a citizen's rights for any reason. Just do your job without violating the people's rights, yourgun doesn't mean shit, because we have guns, and your badge doesn't mean shit because we the people employ you. If you want respect then give respect, where is it written that the citizens have to respect you as a cop or your bitch made feelings?

The only thing I wish is that you would share with local news. Not everyone know about audits Also sharing will increase views and letting others know their rights. No, the local news doesn't want to report this because they have too many inside channels to the police, city and county that would immediately go dark if they did. The local news is part of the problem, not the solution.

They claim that there is an ongoing investigation to determine if any rules were broken, but the statement in the beginning from the police chief of police seemed to indicate that he has already decided that nothing was done wrong. And I don't believe there has ever been a police officer who has continued employment at any Police department after he has challenged the chief of police. At least not for a prolonged period of time. So it will come as no surprise that after they investigate themselves they find they did nothing wrong, the police chief has already said this is the outcome.
