The reason it’s skinning up the potatoes is because of the rust on the blades and chains. If it had been oiled up with drain oil and diesel like we did on our Lockwood combine potato harvester you wouldn’t have a problem with skinning the potatoes.
In the fall I washed all the equipment ,greased them and sprayed everything with 10% diesel fuel and 90% drain oil. When we got everything out in the spring it looked like I just waxed it. Yo need to get the rust off your chains.

I love your channel. You show so much planting and growing crops, but when it comes to selling them, you only show only a few seconds. It's so relaxing and rewarding seeing your vegetables being purchased. Please can you make videos of just the farmer's market at least 45 minutes. Thank you

Storm Coming my Friend - get things tied down and doors closed, hope the rain sinks deep and no flooding. I would like to see all the veggies after they have their long drink of water. Those ears of corn are gonna be huge. I see you sell your corn for $7.00 a dozen, here they charge $5.00 for six at the amish Market. I do hope that wind doesn't get as bad as they are saying, you guys have enought on your plate to deal with. HOPING for the BEST.

My favorite potatoes is the red ones first then the golden smooth can't remember what they are called. Then the russet white. I eat so many white Irish, russet in mich growing up I was very happy to get back to some red potatoes.

Those tiny ones are the high dollar ones though cause there used for crab boils and crawfish boils were i am from and a little 3 lb bag is $5.98 normally were the 3 lb russet is 2 to 3 dollars during the summer or during crawfish season.

There is the old joke, a neighbor ask the farmer how the potato harvest was going. He said I have a lot of golf ball size, a lot of marble size and a whole lot of little ones.

Ah, the fish numbers revealed! Is that one of each kind ? Perch, Sunfish, Bass, and Bullhead? Or, are we lookin at Harvey's Lake or Lake Carey type numbers? ""Little Debbie's "" going to give everyone a big soaking and a little break. Red or White, I was honestly surprised there weren't more rocks. The Purple Cauliflower looked great. Your family works hard to make everything better and you all should be proud. Stay safe and God bless and enjoy the rain

In central Ohio, they sell those tiny tiny potatoes in a 1.5 lb bag called "fingerlings" and are $4 a bag. Great to wash really well and throw a couple of dozen down in a pan with a nice beef roast. Regular potatoes are $1.67 alb. They don't make 10lb bags anymore and that just sucks. I'm a HUGE fried potato fan. I love mashed potatoes only if they are made from real potatoes and not that boxed dehydrated stuff.

Logan, I love watching the videos. However, is there any way to save some of the scuffed potatoes any way to give to a kitchen that prepares food for the homeless? If it is scuffed up for customers, it can still be used in other arenas. Just a thought. Have a Blessed day!

"Oh man, oh man, who taught you that potatoes should be harvested while their leaves are still green? My friend, the potatoes talk to you when they are ready to be picked, and that's when the leaves are completely dry. Leave two potato plants and don’t harvest them until the leaves dry out. When you do harvest them, each potato could weigh more than 200 grams."

We also pick them after the vines die, but that's personal use. He has to supply potatoes 🥔 for the market, and if they are still in the ground, they can't sell them. First to market gets the best price 👌

"I agree with you here, but the difference between us is that I live in Algeria, and when selling the crop, whatever the type, we harvest everything at once when it’s fully ripe. Then we take it to the wholesale market and sell everything there. I'm talking about thousands of quintals. After that, the traders who own stores buy from the wholesaler and then sell it to the public."
