@@lebanonchristian3951 No. Get Covid instead, since it only destroys the respiratory system, and in some cases other organs. In some cases, all of them basically, resulting from death.
Vaccines do not destroy the immune system. They give a person a small dose, or an altered dose (with just an identifying marker) so that the immune system gets a jump on dealing with the virus if and when it comes in contact. It is our own immune system that fights the virus when we take a vaccine. It is how vaccines work --- similarly to someone getting a milder exposure naturally ---both giving a body a chance to have their immune system work well enough fast enough to destroy a deadly virus before it destroys them.
Masks do not destroy the immune system. Their main function is to prevent the person wearing one from spreading the virus if they have the virus and are not yet aware of it, so that they can carry on and take care of business. They offer some protection, but lesser protection to the wearer.
Masks and social distancing are good at helping to prevent or slow the spread of the virus.
Vaccines are good at helping to prevent a person from dying from exposure to the virus.
I understand that you don't understand any of what I am telling you, because you may not have the capacity to understand.
But it is possible that you just never took the time to study the history of vaccines and how they work, or the history of mask wearing to prevent the spread of illness, or how illnesses are spread. This particular virus is airborne and highly aerosol in that, and highly contagious because of that. That is why mask wearing, social distancing, and vaccines are recommended.
The more people who get and spread the virus, the more hosts it has to aid and abet it, and the more opportunities it gets to mutate into varying strains --- which people can get again, and which vaccines may not be able to keep up with --- so that we can never get past Covid infections and deaths from people having their immune systems overwhelmed unnecessarily.

Maybe Anne should not have been drunk and driving. Maybe she should have stopped after crashing at the parking garage. No she decided after her crash to continue driving at speeds of 90-100mph putting countless innocent lives at risk. Not to mention the lady and her house that she drove through and caused to burst into flames causing the loss of her home and possesions. Thank god that lady and her pets were in a different part of the house and were able to get out safe or your Anne would have murdered her. Where is your sympathy for the real victim in that scenario. As to Anne, the public is now safe from a very dangerous person. Darwin award well deserved

The movie was made in 2006 and used prior Pandemics as its source. Covid is nowhere near the level of the Spanish Influenza which devastated the world in 1918-20.
This movie is more up-to-date than others I've wanted to watch. It's pretty good so far (15minutes).
Every time the screen fades to black before changing scenes I'm expecting a commercial break. I haven't watched TV in years and I'm still traumatized lol

This is my second time watching it during the COVID-19 pandemic which is a new normal after 5 million people died around the world in 2022. Well, I used to do so in 2019 before Covid-19 was transmitted. At that time, I thought about what would happen if it were real and I had no idea. When the time had come, this movie reminded me and it seemed to match. Gosh! This is a top-notch movie and worth your time

One objective appears to be to normalize the concept of quarantining a whole city. Before covid, this had never been done, so why would it be the first thing considered by authorities either in fiction or fact. And before the Boston Bombing, the term "lockdown" was only applied to prisoners.

Great movie, this is the 3rd time I’ve watched it this year alone.😅 Anne Heche was a brilliant actor, in this movie it’s like she turns into the compassionate genius she’s playing, and the cast is excellent.
I love the little things we rarely see anymore - I mean she looks like she’s actually been wearing the same suit for 48+ hours, hasn’t washed or brushed her hair with anything but her fingers. These (woke) days it seems like every actor gets a full body prep/change between takes - they can be in a hurricane and still look like they could walk into a party. Idiotic.
*Anyway!* I miss the good “not-that-old” days (and the movies!🍿) and I miss Anne, she was truly talented, hypnotic. RIP ❤

If there were no conspiracies, why have intelligence services or detectives? Every proven conspiracy at one point was a conspiracy thesis, then a conspiracy theory, and finally a proven conspiracy. For example the Chem trails, which have been admitted to even on the UN website years ago. They even stated that they wouldn't honor any countries airspace and evade it by all terms, of course with the excuse of "saving the planet".
The information is there, but if people don't do their research, they wouldn't know. One can only *inform* others, but one cannot *understand* for others.

Few Countries have the laws and requirements in place to even attempt to protect their citizens from disease and contamination. Unfortunately, as the World has become more Global we are now reliant on others taking precautions just as any civilized Country does. This is has not the case. This will continue until someone wakes up and demands they imply and do so or we stop accepting imports and curtailing travel. My guess is neither will happen so this will continue and likely increase with severity. With International Travel it’s not just our own that needs to concern us but that of all those within our Country. Sadly, this will affect all of us.
Wearing a hazmat suit to inspect the patient then using bare hands to remove the hazmat suit, nurse barges in the room that has had air from the "containment" room blown into, two "doctors" rush into the waiting area without a single basic decontamination procedure. Damn!

Half-way through the movie and I can't believe I'm actually seeing a film about this. 20 years ago I wrote a scenario dealing with the same issue and it was totally rejected by everyone. It's now 2024. Some people were very frightened of making a movie about it. Scared of their careers being ended. Scared what the FBI or CIA might do to them. It would be possible I suppose to introduce an agent through the by pass turbine rather than the hot section or the efflux but either method is unnecessary. That is how experiments in covering the atmosphere with a reflective layer to bounce the sun's radiation back into space have been carried out. People with theories are often dismissed as crazy, yet their theories are rarely ever attempted to be disproven with facts/evidence. It's like placing a label "conspiracy theorists" is a bad thing and that immediately ends the discussion. Police detectives are "conspiracy theorists". Their job is to create a theory on the crime they are attempting to solve, and then go about searching for facts to prove it. Without them many crimes go unsolved. Next time someone approaches you with a topic you know nothing about, avoid the name calling, unless you can prove them wrong with facts, logic and reason.

Love the premise and it makes a great suspense movie. Fortunately for us, there are actually an average of about 7 cases of bubonic plague diagnosed each year in the US because it is endemic in western wildlife like squirrels and chipmunks. It is detectable through symptoms and confirmed with lab tests and most cases are effectively treatable with existing antibiotics, although it does still have an 8-10% mortality rate. So plaque no longer causes the kind of scenario in this movie - whew!
Except that in 1998 resistant strains were found in infected people in Madagascar, it won't be forever before such is found in any area where the plague is endemic. Sorry.

Exactly right. Also, as long as we are fact checking the premise of this movie, it's important to note that the real plague is a bacterial disease and not caused by a virus. (This movie repeatedly states otherwise.)
Antibiotics don't cure viral diseases, they only go against organisms like bacteria. But antibiotics can help against secondary infections that pop up when our immune system is fighting the virus. Therefore the best way to go against viral infections is, to strengthen the natural immune system for it's fight against the viral infection, and use antibiotics against secondary bacterial infections.
Unfortunately there are plenty of other diseases you can get.

C19 put me in the hospital back in 2021 and I almost didn't make it - I have a new found respect for viruses and those medical people who treat them.

This is the first movie that I have watched in year's. I have been wstching you tube videos on various topics but none that are over 40 minutes at most an this is a 2 hour movie.
The most touching scene of the film is when the female doctor witnessed her colleague get a nosebleed, through which she found that he had been infected (by the patient he had been taking care of). What is more moving is his calmness and willingness to accept a quarantine in the face of his colleagues' silent heartbreak. But finally, the doctor was saved.
Touching indeed - but in some other films about this case a family member or colleague dies ... even more touching - but this doc's saving gives hope - that's important ...

If you haven't seen "Outbreak" (1995) yet, that has a similar scene, and it's heartbreaking but true -- everyone who works in Level 4 diseases has already committed themselves to going into quarantine if they're infected, even knowing they will probably die there in quarantine. They know they can't risk infecting anyone else, they're heroic people, I've known a couple 💔
