  • Jim and Fred test out the Pluto water drop system for water drop collisions. There are many systems on the market, equally good, such as the MIOPS system - but the Pluto trigger has many additional features for a similar price. The MIOPS system is a dedicated water drop only solution and Jim and Fred likes the fact the Pluto valve is metal.

Hi, I wanted to know at what height you recommend placing the solenoid valve in relation to the water container. Is there a relationship between height and App parameters? What parameters do you recommend for both single shots and collisions?

That’s a great question! Essentially I would put the water valve at least 18 to 24 inches above the water container. Regardless of the distance you will have to time the second drop With the app timer to get a collision at that point keeping those parameters in the app should be repeatable and you should get collisions most every time. If the valve is too close to the water then the valve may not be able to open and close quickly enough for that second drop.

Great video! What is the name of the cell phone app? What name do I search for in the Apple store?

Search for Pluto Trigger, I just checked and that will bring up the app!
