i love you spreading the gospel of magic!! big love bro!
Thanks Jason, I’m still trying to figure out what I wanna do here on YT, but I think it’s something close to this ... IMO: students could use a mentor with a few years under their belt
@@DougConn Both of you are a great inspiration!! If people aren't following both of you they are missing out. Yes, for everybody when you are done watching this, make sure to hit the like button then jump over to Jason Maher's channel and check out his awesome content. It will "Spice" up your life. Thanks to both of you for giving me so much to look forward to on my magic journey.
@@JCMagic i am here
Long day at work, this was teasing me from my home screen all day. Wonderful bit of education to unwind to, thanks again!
Thnx Drew!
Thank you Doug for sharing your videos and ur tips & advice n gng through some of the techniques / sleights 👏👏🎩 . I learnt some of the coins sleights from David Roth and very useful and still learning.
My pleasure to have an audience, I’m glad you’re enjoying the offerings! Tnx!
These sessions are mega. David Roth videos are a constant. Just plowing through NYC coin convention
Doug, You are so talking my language! I also love and highly recommend the Mark Wilson book - RIP, Mark. My uncle was the first person to show me some close up magic, also the French Drop. Lately I’ve been working on my Classic Palm and thinking about a good one coin routine. Thanks for some good ideas!
VERY Happy to hear the info was useful! The classic palm is INVALUABLE keep up the practice!
@@DougConn Yes, after holding a half dollar there as much as possible for about two weeks, I can feel it is getting easier. I’m determined to get it.
I’d suggest palming two and starting to learn to drop one at a time from the palm. The extra weight should help your practice and dropping coins one at a time from the palm is a good skill to know . Anyhoo: you’re over the hard part!
@@DougConn Thank you, Doug. I’ll try it.
Love watching you, your enthusiasm is infectious. My brother is already a semi-pro magician so I will leave this art to him 🤣 carry on the great work chap
Thanks for the good word!
Great video today. Both men were really amazing and will be missed. I have both books by them.
Ah! You have the Roth book! Love hearing that!
"You can pick up a rock or a shell. Even if it's end times, you can still perform magic."
I can 100% see Doug Conn living in a hut on a beach somewhere, mid-apocalypse, calming down groups of people who are absolutely losing it by doing a fifteen minute set with a rock and a seashell three times daily, and four on Sundays - on the rare occasion that they're able to establish that it is, without a doubt, Sunday. I have no trouble whatsoever imagining this. I just hope I can make it to the beach and get a seat.
My friend Larry Anderson was very much involved with the Mark Wilson Course on Magic. 🎉
Hey, thanks for the single coin lecture. I actually have to give a lecture at the Browsers bash in Toronto in Midsummer, and I’m trying to figure out exactly what I should present.
Doug, whenever I drop a coin, I usually say "I am glad the floor is there or the coin would still be falling". Usually gets a laugh when I pick up the coin.
I appreciate you sending the curious to the books. Always mention the Library also as a affordable alternative. That's where I started and found the Amateur Magicians Handbook, which as you know, teaches a lot more than "moves". I worry about these videos. As a Restauraunt worker for 13 yrears from 96 to 08, I saw the internet (and hand held gaming) begin to encroach on the ability to entertain. "Palming" and the "sleeve" have always been mythical in stature and just an easy OUT when you fooled the laymen. But there's a difference when a 8 year old can bust your hard earned chops with a illustration rather than just his mouth. To me,it's very much like "here ya are...the secret to the Zig Zag Girl"...and NO MONEY changes hands if you know what I mean. My library may not be the largest, but it still cost me 1000's to build to learn the "secret" all by myself. I remember your Second Deal days and miss'em.Really good stuff there. Happy MAGIC!
Hey Roger, thanks for the input (& yes indeed, TSD Days were the best) I Did try and point all students towards books and yes I often recommend the library, I’ve done videos on that in fact… Regarding the exposure: I roll with the punches ...heck I perform magic on the platforms where I’m teaching so I’m obviously not too concerned about it… still trying to figure it all out (status quo for most my life)
Anyhoo... back to it!
@@DougConn I appreciate your reply and God knows we are all feeling our way along. Recently I was watching a so-called beginner card magic video. From the comments it was obvious that they were not ready for a control, dbl lift, or Side Steal and palm off of a card. These moves were shown, not Taught or really even explained and it appears to me that he's stroking his own ego! There is a megaton of great self working card tricks to TEACH with. This is like the beginner walking into a Magic Shop and being sold a copy of Genii when the customer has never handled a Svengali deck.Maniacal laughter ensues...Roger P.S. I seriously doubt a UA-camr parting with the $75 cost for the Roth book.Hell, it hurt me at the time and I saw it as money well spent!
Awesome as always 🤘🤘

AWESOME 🔥 BEST OF LUCK FOR THE NEXT AWESOME 🔥 VIDEO

This man is magically awesome

Mark Wilson did Pillsbury Magic Circus. Pillsbury is headquartered here in Minneapolis.
Oh?! Tnx for the info!
Thank you for sharing 🇬🇧😎
I just purchased the Mark Wilson book on Ebay for $5…. Thanks for the tutorial and Recommendation.
Fantastic!
I own both of those books. Mark Wilson's book is a great starter or reference book. For coin magic David Roth's book is a coin workers Bible, but is no longer in print.
Just helping out the algorithm. Thanks, gef
Hey Doug, Love the channel! Any guidance on learning the 4 coin roll down, trying to learn the variation from Mark Wilson's book. Thanks for all the content :)
It’s a challenging technique that will take awhile to learn just keep practicing
I don't know how, but I'm automatically lookin right where some people keep their magic objects hidden and Im still stuck at balancing a penny 🤷🏻♂️🤔 ....(btw,I love learning magic so much😅)
Great!
Woow I'll use. Thst
Oh good!
I have the exact same suitcase for magic stuff, its the exact same black leather thing XD
When we gonna see you on penn and teller fool us?
Maybe sooner than later! I’m sending in an audition video in Feb!
@@DougConn that's good. Hope you make it!
I learned more good coin work fro this !
are you using a half dollar for the coin roll?
Usually a dollar coin but .50 is good too
Oh my God my. Childhood influence. He passed. Away. I have his. Book I practice. And. He. Also. You right. Was. Bill bixbys. Consultant. For. So. Many. Episode. Well we. Lost. Many masters. Last year's.
