What a great video this was. You're a lot better at these sleights than you give yourself credit for for sure. You threw me off big time when you were doing that back palm technique while tossing coins from one hand to the other. I literally had to rewind twice even after you told us what you were doing.
Haha, along with the Wilson Magic Course book I had Bobo’s Modern Coin Magic on my shelf…I was doing learning magic completely wrong! Thanks Doug, great video as usual!
As someone who has only recently started seriously doing coin magic, i have a couple of questions. 1- my hands are vary smooth and dry, and the coins do not have alot of grip on the skin. The longer i keep a coin in classic palm (and i can only use large coins atm) the coin slowly slips out of place and falls. Is there something i can do to make this better? I know moisturizer is likely the answer for short term use, but in the long run, any tips? 2- You mentioned the thumb sticking out during a classic palm, and that being a tell, i actually have the exact opposite issue lol, my thumb is almost completely under my hand, if my thumb moves even the smallest amount to the side, the coin will drop. Now i fully realize the muscle in my hand is weak, so thats going to take practice, but my main question is, does a coin magician HAVE to be able to do classic palm? My finger palm is vary comfortable and quite natural looking in my opinion. and i do see the benifits of knowing classic palm. But by learning the other techniques, can those do just as well as the classic palm? Thanks so much in advance, love your work :). Would love to see your opinions or routines with Okito boxes.
A seminal video. Very good review of available methods. Bobos is great reference, but be warned, it's not that great to learn from. Just a heads up for beginners... but stick with it. Keep going back and you'll be rewarded with patience!
🙏❤️🪄 yes! Like most good magic books, you can return to Bobbi’s over & over (& yes, it’s imperfect.) Care to cast a diff vote for a good beginners coin book?
@@DougConn I thought the stuff in Harry Lorraine's magic book is quite good. It's only a section of the book and definitely not comprehensive, but he is on the same wavelength as you emphasising finger palm rather than classic palm. He also teaches stuff like Hang ping chen. So you can do coins across, coins through table, misers dream and various other classic effects with his material and it is very beginner friendly.
What a wonderful introduction for back to school week! I can't wait to see what else you have planned for the rest of the week, Doug! Also, I am doing my first ever livestream on Wednesday at 7:30 pm CDT. If you wouldn't mind checking it out it would be greatly appreciated. Have a blessed day everyone!
For 3 days I've been watching classic palming tutorials and they usually goes from A to C. Folks! What happened to B?? This video reveals the missing part part ..muscle development! Subscribed!
Dumb question... what kind of coins are best? These look bigger than American quarters. Half dollars? Special _magic_ coins? Love the channel. It helped get me into magic.
Hi Doug. Awesome tips! I just want to verify the large coins you are using are US 50 cent pieces correct? Being I'm from Canada we don't have coins that large so just dbl checking so I can get a few
Im actually using these coin tricks to secretly add dice to my dnd rolls to keep hidden abilities secret from my players! Its increased the tension and fun of sessions so much! Thank you!
I did your final routine to my boss who doesn't care one iota about magic and she showed a huge smile. Quite an accomplishment. Thank you sir.
Awesome video. You are too smooth. Always great to have a teacher that is a master at his art
Positive feedback = appreciated! ❤️
Beautiful shuttle pass, I like how you pass it over to the finger tips. I will be playing with that handling :)
I could use this video for years. Thx for what you do. Carrying it into the future!!!
Tnx for the good word!
Right on the money as usual! I see I have a lot of homework ahead of me…haha! Thanks for a great tutorial.

Forefinger against the thumb, brilliant tip thanks.
Love your stuff - you’re an inspiration 👏🏼
I've been practicing my dexterity by going from finger palm to the back finger palm. So tough, but great when it works!

I think silver coins make a difference… I’m using Morgan dollars here… My recommendation is to use the biggest coin you’re comfortable with

I’m using Morgan Dollars for the majority of this clip, but I do employ halves during Tenkai Pennies. I suggest using the biggest coin you can
🙏🙏🙏
素晴らしいです❣教科書にさせていただきます❣(^^♪
I'd wanna see you do magic with magic the gathering cards

Any preferred vendor/source for getting Morgan dollars? Thanks.
