Things I would put as a priority for KOFXV to succeed even further: Characters General Feedback Costumes/Stages Netcode Improvements UI Changes Whatever SNK needs to do with "evolving" the game even further will make a lot of people happy!
It would be nice If KoF 15 gets extra costumes for some chara from the initial roster, who never got any besides Terry and Leona only. Also more stages based on old games.
Yes! More classic KoF characters, too. Krauser, Eiji, Takuma, and more O.G. characters. Last 2 seasons have had too many woke character designs from the more recent games. Game needs blood spatter back, too. Why do all modern fighters seem so toned down, graphically?
I am terrible at this game but still managed to put 50 hours in it this year and had a blast. When I finally nail a big climax cancel combo there is no better feeling. I hope they continue adding to the game, but if not, there is plenty more coming from SNK to keep me occupied next year
I'm trash at this game. I'm way better at Street Fighter 6. But KOF XV to me is a better Fighting Game. I just play the CPU all the time. I think I have 600 hours total on Steam & PlayStation just playing the CPU.
I find the season 3 very likely, almost certain. If even Samsho got it then KOF will get it, being the strongest SNK franchise. But maybe it's a little less than the last season because of the work on FF and more games.
I've been loving KOF XV over the past few months, a season 3 of DLC would do a lot to bring a lot more hype to the game but at the same time I feel like SNK is most likely all in on developing the new fatal fury. Either way I'm excited to play these games!
@@conradojavier7547 They're gonna have to rework the roster again, another team plus 5 characters 4 plus a boss should be good enough. The game also needs to bring back stages from past games and others from other SNK fighters. And more DLC costumes for all or most characters and added cosmetics. They need to go out with a bang
@@conradojavier7547 It would be nice but now it's very unlikely after season 2 being solo chars, and there are new games keeping them much busier than last year.
I think the game at this late stage could get more than a new character pack to get a strong revitalization. It would be nice if there are extra costumes for chars from the initial roster, who never got any. Also maybe one guest character?
I think the game is at an incredible spot. Ive been playing some with friends ive meet in streams and they'll tell me after playing "i hadnt been playing much and am still learning but wow this is so much fun. Learning and figuring out how things work and what different characters are capable of feels amazing." I really hope the SWC gets a lot of attention because it should be an outstanding showcase for the game. I could see a shortened season 3 coming next year, personally, just because the way they revealed and released Hinako was very...matter of fact like. Figured they'd make it known the support was done. I expect some announcements either at Frosty's or no doubt the SWC. Either way game is at a wonderful spot on my opinion. Just hope people continue to give it a chance as time goes on and other series have releases.
For kof It just the case of a lot of the other fighting games went through major changes as far as gameplay and dlc. Like GG Strive went through a Major balance patch which gave characters new moves and new system mechanics making Strive a brand new game. Same goes with GranBlue Rising just recently released. Then you have the Tekken 8 Demo and SF6 is still going strong. It more like SNK needs to announce something or add new things to 15 to get everyone back and hype the game up again like when it was upon it initial release. Side Note, i also wish snk would do something to the current SamSho and give that game something and bring back hype to that aswell.
To me SNK could consider designing bulkier dlc packs in response to the current movement in the fg scene regarding content. This applies to KoF and all future games. Nowadays a simple deliver of new chars, no matter how good they are, will start looking kinda cheap or low effort. Other fgs are adding more stuff in dlc updates like stages, or new story content, or new moves, or new system mechanics, etc. I don't think KoF chars in general need more moves, and I'm not sure about extended story yet, but what I'm inclined to are: more stages, more costumes... and most importantly strong versions of existing chars to fill up the boss challenge mode, in the same style of SF5's challenges. To me that's a very efficient way to add more fun single player content, because it's easy and doesn't need new models or such. Like: make a broken Ralf inspired by the 90s version, a broken Ryo and Robert based on KoF 94-95, a classic Kyo with fireball, etc. To the devs really messed up the timing and failed for not exploring the full potential of their boss challenge. But something still can be done to help the case.
An addition to my other comment: I know it's too early to talk about KOF 16, but I think that XV is a game that looks into the past and celebrate the history of the franchise. I anticipate that KOF 16 will be a massive shake up (return of tag mechanic maybe?) with character design changes, and significant evolution. maybe in 2028 :)
I've been a big fan of the KOF franchise since the '94. Even though I had my favorite ones like '97, '98 or 2002, I think KOF XV has become my new favorite since its release 2 years ago. However, it's hard for me (and I think I'm speaking on behalf of many fans) not to see (yet) characters who are a must in any KOF game such as Daimon, Kensou, or Vice and Mature... It would be just great that SNK brought back complete teams as DLC Season 3. I'd love to have Eiji, Kasumi, and Malin for example, or Lucky, Brian, and Heavy D! Imagine a team formed by May Lee, Chang, and Choi... I hope the SNK team hears us out and makes this happen, I'm sure this would make the game live much longer. And yeah, in this era, more stages and costumes could add a lot more to the game.
kofxv es the best fighting game right now. The least popular but the best one out there. Its not an easy game and that may be the reason not many players stick around
I remember the BIGGEST valid complaint about the game. Matchmaking. It took several minutes to find matches. It wasn't even immediately fixed when cross-play was implemented. It's fine NOW. I'd even say it's better than most other fighting games. But it DID take WAY too long. Honestly, that's probably what killed the hype. It's in a GREAT place right now, though. I'd like a Time Attack and Survival Mode added in the next season.
I agree 100% with you Nabil! Definitely the best KOF yet! Can't wait for more content! PS: I stopped playing MK1 after just one week, so disappointing, and I loved MK 11.
It’s a great game, but it needs a better ranking system for the future. A lot of the players are waaaay too skilled, and there’s no true way to separate them from the more casual/average/new players. And being perfected by 1 single character pushes people away. I landed on rank 15, and had 50/50 matches with people. I decided to leap into rank 16-17, and BOY DID I GET DESTROYED. 9 out of 10 matches, I got obliterated. And I realized from rank 16 and up, it’s impossible for a casual to have fun. I had to derank to 15. And even in that rank, there are several people who shouldn’t be in that rank. So I slowly stopped playing online. I probably play online 2-3 times a year. And not a lot of single Player mode. Compared to SF6, where there are several ranks and people are placed more properly and you are actually fighting players your level. I am having a blast advancing through the ranks and even in platinum, I am finding very even and close matches. So I play that game 3-4 times a week. But kof…ranks 1-15 is a mix of new/casual with experts who refuse to rank up, and 16-onwards there are monsters that will destroy you. I hope SNK takes notes for a better system to split players into more even and fair sections in the future. For this game, it’s too late. And for people who are about to tell me…GIT GUD….NOOOOO! I play games for fun. I’m not a tournament or pro player. I am just an average Joe who just wants to have fun picking a game after a hard day at work and relax and enjoy. . My skill set is average, and I wanna play people similar to me. SF6 gives me people similar to me. Kof….once in a blue moon I’ll find someone my level.
They think with KOF in general is that you just need to put in the work. Practice is key. I am speakingfrom experience, ised to get recked in 14 as 9 to 1. It was frustrating but i kept at it. Took the knoweldge and started playing 15, geting initially destroyed in most matches, now after couple years i am happy with my level. I am by no means a great player, but i can hold my own. Now i am habing more fun playing the game. If i have to give one advice, is to master the hops. It really changed how i play the game.
There's a sort of missing feedback mechanism, not just in KOF but in all fighting games, where even losses should have some "reward" mechanism that reminds them they're always getting closer to their optimal skill pool. Everything is a step forward, even if it doesn't feel like one.
While i do agree with all fhe points you brought up Nabil, i think a glaring omission is the matchmaking. From my experience, the netcode has pleasantly surprised me on many occasions and the game is genuinely a lot of fun. That said, it feels like an impossible task to enjoy this game when even to this day i struggle to get matches online and the matches it does give me usually fail to meet the criteria i set in the menu. Granted, i may be the exception to the rule and that the matchmaking must've significantly improved after the cross play patch. Even if that's the case, I'd argue snk was a little too late in that regard and opted to push dlc instead during that time. All in all, I'm happy to get back to playing this game, but with sf6 and tekken 8 on the horizon and potentially proving to be a good experience, it's gonna take a lot to get me back into the KOF fold again
Unfortunately, I have to agree as well. The netcode and matchmaking still felt off and not that good. I've only had one good match ever. Granted I'm not that good at KOF in General and have barely played XV's online mode, but Comparing it to 98UM or 2002UM, I didn't feel as bad. They did add Delay settings to XV and changing the settings didn't seem to help. I wonder if XV is adding more delay on top. I didn't even jump on for hinako, so I'll try it again soon. The single player content in general is definitely lacking and needs more to sink into. This didn't bother me as much because of what Strive did to its unlockables. Don't get me wrong, I love bits of this game to pieces. The roster is Great, the Boss mode was fun, what little of the story there is has so much potential. I really expected more Dead and Absent characters to return. I want to love this game more, but I just can't. It's not bad by any means, but it's not keeping my attention.
100% you are correct. I absolutely believe this is why a large chunk of the player base abandoned this game. The matchmaking was trash, SNK was silent on fixing it, so players went elsewhere. Granted it seems to have improved, especially since cross play was implemented, but it's matchmaking still has issues compared to other fighters that were out. I can find matches decent enough on most days but I still have problems, not to mention I'll wait forever if I don't switch on the opponents rank to "any".
SNK has lost that grittiness to its games I loved how dark and serious SNK fighting games were compared to other fighting games I just hope the new Fatal Fury is more adult themed.
I think SNK should do a much better job with the story mode and better character development in KOF and future games going forward. S3 is a given, but new mechanics and single player content ( maybe not here, but going forward ). Other than those, KOF XV is great and I look forward to see what SNK's got planned for us.
What ideas you have about new mechanics? I know some other games do that in dlc seasons, like GG, and some games expand mechanics like SF5 added variations of VT and VS in dlc updates. But in my opinion KoF is already rich mechanically (even too much to some players of a SF background). I don't think KoF should get new mechanics. Also there are games that add an extended story mode in dlcs, but I'm still not sure if that idea works for KoF in particular.
Now about changes for future games this is what I wish: I want SNK to try more things with the series, because KoF now looks like the most repetitive fg franchise in the sense of sequels that remind the previous games. And we live in an age when all fg franchises are changing that aspect. A while ago the most repetitive one was Tekken, but now its KoF. So I'd like KoF to experiment using CvS2's flexible selection system where you can choose 1, 2 or 3 chars. Just invent a random story reason for that change just like in the time of the Tag games. Also I'd like KoF to bring back the fighting modes like KoF 98 (or grooves for the ones more familiar with Capcom). Not exactly the Extra and Advanced, but the same idea. Besides, nowadays it would be better to make even more modes... Not like CvS2, but 4 is enough (with maybe a 5th custom mode). I find this important because the versatility would help to make the game more appealing. Like for newcomers of SF background who have trouble getting into the game because of run, roll and hops. So having a mode with dash, dodge and normal jump maybe would be more attractive to them. Another thing is that KoF eliminates "forced accessibility" like in KoF 14-15, and instead just add a separate easy mode like SF, TK, etc. That should be the standard approach of future SNK games imo.
The next wave of dlc NEEDS HYPE Characters that will get ppl talking again. Characters such as: Ryu (SF) Heihachi (Tekken) Skullomania (Fighting Ex Layer) Setsuna (Last Blade 2) Akira (Virtua Fighter) etc.
I find SNK quite frustrating they make good games but then have horrible online experiences so they become discord fighters. I feel like they kinda screwed the pooch with KOFXV the game was really good but the match making issues destroyed it and it didnt get addressed in a timely manner so people who gave it a shot just ended up playing SF6 (which has its own online issues)
When KoFXV came out, I called it the best day-1 version of any fighting game ever. Then they ruined the matchmaker and character balance. Now, both are fixed, and I have zero issues calling this one of the greats. Arguably the best fighting game from SNK, and easily my favorite of theirs. So that's where I stand, when I say I think SNK should just run a safe year to cruise into uncharted territory. I don't want a big story mode expansion, put those ressources into Fatal Fury: CotW. I don't want a new mechanic for the sake of a refresh, only if the devs have a really strong idea for one. And I would like one more season pass like SP2, that fills out some glaring omissions (Daimon Goro, Kensou, Vice, Mature, seriously) and brings back some long-lost souls (Shen, obviously, maybe Gai Tendo, Silber, Malin, Eiji.) I would even be okay if they played it safe with the free DLC characters. Maybe it's just me, but happily I'd take a Kusanagi that plays like '95 Kyo and a Yagami that plays like KoFXIII Iori as relatively quick, easy and cool bonus characters. Maybe even a (Robert) Garcia that plays like a charge character. Then fill out the rest of the year with some DLC costumes. Classic Shermie, bomber-jacket Mary, any one of Benimarus, Roberts and Athenas previous costumes, the money is just waiting to be printed. Basically, keep a good thing going without rocking the boat. Fatal Fury is gonna be a massive step for them, because it's one of the few franchises that were not killed off by their first bankruptcy. As such, I would like that to fire on all cylinders upon release, and for KoF to just take a slight step back in scale, to share the spotlight and hopefully built up to an even bigger, better KoFXVI and SNK.
Good recap! I still love XV, one of my favorite KOF in general. I think the game is its best shape right now, and of course that would have been a much better situation if the crossplay and the matchmaking (1.5 year to fix!!!) was this way in 2022. I'm hoping for season 3 with 4-5 characters (expecting Vice, Mature, Shen at least)not sure what else to expect about the game to give it a season 3 boost, a new mechanic would be a bold move
Fr bro even I myself have encountered ppl who're way above me and trust me I got my a$$ handed to me on a silver platter. Now and again I'd run into someone with similar skills like myself I am fairly decent at the game rn. The game indeed does mix the causals with the pros making u having to fight someone who's godlike at the game. If I want I'd better myself even more to blend in with the pros. But other than that SNK has to resolve the issue of matching with players above your level only have causal players match with other causals and have the hardcore/pro players match up with each other in ranked.
I didn't like the change to 3D in KOF XIV, because I love sprites. Garou is my favorite fighting game, I have orgasms when I play it. But KOF XV feel wonderful to play. It's fun, the roster is huge and the systems are solid.
Pseudo 2d is doable aksys proved it. The development team has been improving since samurai showdown while they did get the gameplay mechanics right maybe by the next kof we can see what they can come out with presentation wise
I hope we get a 3rd Season Pass for KOF15. Because there are so many Characters that I still want to see again! Like I want Characters from the Maximum Impact saga return! Alongside the ones from the "EX2 Neo Blood" game! Please SNK, *GIVE US MORE CHARACTERS*
For me what I've realized is this, when it comes to gameplay and balancing Id say for the most part SNK does well in those departments. Sure there's certain characters that could use some buffs but again generally thats fine. But yeah the biggest issue for me has always been the game as a full package, or it not being a full package. Not having an actual dedicated story mode, different game modes, proper tutorial to teach people ect. The game mechanic in XV in my opinion is a better version of 14, nothing was really radically changed, no big shake up. Max/quick mode max and shatter strike. I personally think SNK can and should go the extra mile in the future and REALLY shake things up, throw a wrench in the system to where it feels new for everyone involved. Yes, keep legacy skill a thing and it being important, but like SF6 and T8, introduce some new things to make OG players have to rethink things. Let me say this, I LIKE KOF XV. But we can all agree there alot of things that couldve been done better and lost oppurtunities. Hopefully with COTW that will be where SNK begins to really flex their gaming muscles and go all out with content and gameplay. Thank you for coming to my ted talk, cool vid as always
The mechanics they're more greater , would like next kof to have more deep story like it used to and less otamaraga type of boss bring back human like bosses that doesn't feel empty, and please tell where do u buy ur merch.
I really like KoF XV, and this game is wonderful. You're right about a new potential mechanic...I really want SNK to bring in some characters from MI and EX, yes money is limited, but think about how long it's been for Alba, what about USA Sports Team who's been missing Soo long. I still think there's plenty of life in KoF, the question is how to get more people playing it?
People are more fixated on graphics ; If it looked more photorealistic like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat ; More people would pick it up. They should also have a single player mode, people tend to favor that.
What i think the last few KOF games were lacking is Characters from the NESTS saga.. Sure k, kula, krohnen and etc.. But im talking more about like zero or igniz or even nameless.. Nameless in general is i think superior to krohnen in terms of welp... Design, lore, music, skill set is pretty even but im more towards nameless with that one aswell.. Characters like those have just been forgotten.. Ignis is by far the greatest boss I've seen in a kof game.. And this is coming from someone who played every single kof game since 97..
I didn't know about the new cross platform update, I'm going to have to redownload this. Kof is underrated imo, and is actually quite fun once you get the hang of it.
I went in hard for this game-bought the deluxe edition, most of the DLC, put in a good number of hours in it, and I really wanted to love this, but honestly I'm feeling more than a bit let down. I can appreciate that SNK more or less maintained the integrity of the series in an age in which many other fighting games have been dumbed down and streamlined, but beyond netcode and a fresh coat of OK paint, it just doesn't feel like there's much here-especially if you're a player who likes to explore the rabbit holes and depth of possibilities in the KOF combo systems. It never feels like I'm getting a gameplay experience here that I haven't gotten in deeper and more enjoyable forms in prior KOFs. KOF XIV took out my favorite fighting game mechanic-the Drive Cancel / HD Mode, but added a new dimension to the CD moves and gave characters awesome-looking and fun-to-use wall bounce and wall splat EX moves that opened all new and chaotic combo routes for characters like Vanessa, Rock, and newbie Shun'ei in his first appearance-only to largely nix this latter feature in XV, without adding something else-leading to combos and pressure strings that look and feel stale and very rote. The game desperately needs something fresh to open up the combo possibilities and sense of creativity many KOF lovers are missing in this game.
I do want to see who they add for season 3 especially to se who will be i guess we can say the last boss mode character unless they add 2 Great video Nabil.
SNK should bring back modes with the tag team mechanic from KOF 2003/XI, and the striker mechanic from KOF from the NESTS saga, to maintain the game's hype. I also think there is a need for more costumes, the modding community is really doing what SNK should do in this regard.
I always love kof since i was 13 years old 😅 Not because im good at it but the art and character and back then kof have hong kong made comic magazine which also have good looking art.
I bought this game on release played 60 hours, the online was complete trash so dropped it until today, sf6 is so good so i doubt ill put time into kof but im gonna try it some more
this game is on sale right now on xbox, deluxe editon for 21 bucks. Should i buy it? and is it active? I love fighters and i love sf6 and stuff like that. Looking for unbiased answers. Its on sale for a couple days...really interested in thoughts
To me SNK could consider designing bulkier dlc packs in response to the current movement in the fg scene regarding content. This applies to KoF and all future games. Nowadays a simple deliver of new chars, no matter how good they are, will start looking kinda cheap or low effort.
Ank needs to get with the times. You need content, look at sf6,mk1 and what tekken 8 will have. You cant just drop a game and think thats enough. Only hard cores will remain and they are not enough to hold everything together.
Kinda hard for KOF to get players back with how fierce of a competition it has to face (SF6, MK1 and T8 being the main ones), ido love the game and ireally like the current build of the game in terms of roster and gameplay but on consoles the matchmaking is still bad, the game also lacks offline content unfortunately, it lacks updates that bring on new stuff. In all honesty ithink iwould rather prefer have the team behind KOF focus on shifting to the next installment (they need to innovate or bring back some unique combat mechanics like KOF 2003/XI team switch, why not introduce maybe team combos or make KOF XVI a tag game with a third member being a striker only or even move on to 3D and have a fresh start). Story needs also to be better handled because the Shunn'ei is a wasted potential in several aspects but the fact that villains got resurrected now could really make upcoming arcs amazing if well exploited and executed
KOF15 is great but, the lack of single player content and lack of stage variety bothers me. I know covid made them focus less on content and more on everything else. But I wish that SNK would add that content as dlc. Free or not I do want more modes and stages. That's KOF15's weakness. Other wise KOF15 is very fun and balanced with a meaty roster.
I agree with everything but the time to market in cross play /adjust online play. It matters. There's a bunch of new contenders in fighting games since then and SNK should be more effective on the improvements.
Hi,Nabil, thanks,i admit i have also an hard time on understanding the expansion of this game in some fields, like cosmetics and some mechanics. But i love the essence of what SNK propose to us,so i'm not worried,i'm sure that things will get better and better. Do you know that Samsho will have finally the rollback update tomorrow for pc?
I’m a fan of every fighting game but street fighter, kof, tekken, and mk I love each series but I just don’t understand why here in America it’s not as big as other fighting games
KOF XV is a good game but i cant defend the fact we dont have a proper offline mode, the story is a joke because only some teams have custscenes (just like kof xiv did) and the roster have some weird choices like Najd, i still cant believe why they remove modes like survival or time attack (those modes are on kof xiv) thats why IMO KOF XI still have the best roster and offline modes, i dont like much SF6 but even that game have more offline modes lol
I could understand that SNK is making a comeback ever since the KOF XIV was released, but what I'm excited to see more in-depth story because this Shun'ei saga is too short unlike previous saga which usually need three KOF games to finish
More costumes (bring back Iori's silly tied-up pants!) and stages would be great but considering the amount of characters and that SNK is far from having the funds of the likes of Capcom/Bandai Namco I'd be just happy with them giving us a season pass while we wait for CotW so the game retains its player base. Mature, Vice, Kasumi and Seth would be great additions to the roster in my opinion but I think I'm alone on the Seth part.
GOOOOOROOOOO, how come the best Judoka in all fighting games is not in? Pleaseeeee GOROOOOOOOOOO, besides that, i m in Brazil and had 1 fight with your id and it was smooth, love the game and agree with almost everything you said, exception points? Kasumi? really? great vid and lets keep kofing
I dunno. I'm with you that KOF XV is the best, most polished KOF in history. But my tournament experience is kinda twinged with bad juju; and it's really just because the *timing* of these balance patches coincides terribly with my events. I'll spend months labbing and winning trades only to go to competition, *LOSE* these same trades because of balance adjustments, and the whole thing kinda leaves me soured and bitter. My year one was Terry/Iori/Kula; year two was Kula/Jenet/Krohnen, and year three was Yuri/Iori/Jenet and *EVERY TIME* one of them patches drop, it's been like a personal attack against my characters/playstyle, and it's always just in time to drop me from events. :/ I'd love to see a kind of Round Robin Lobby Mode, or Single/Double Elimination lobbies... or even just a longer "EX Arcade Mode" where you face more matches. But I'm kinda done investing a lot of lab time and matches only to have all that work go belly-up when it matters.
really love kof 15 with art style, characters(compared to 13's roster being very safe/street fighter 6 overglorifying 2 when it should've been alpha, especially 3rd strike and the rest of 4/5's characters in their spots with how much of snk's history is represented very well.),gameplay(really love how fluid yet hard hitting it feels.),passion(them getting the artist of the ova's to make the intro & having interest in making another snk anime would love a kof anime or continuation to the fatal fury ovas.) story(with how snk/capcom alongside arc system works have the best narrative in fighting games compared to mk being a mess/tekken really having to make up for how they screwed it up do wish there was a story mode that i hope 16 does/would've liked scenes with all the teams helping out.) & especially the endings(outside super heroines where mai & yuri should've been idols with kensou and chin as the clown acts, hinako should've been her having her doing sumo with the people she met & maybe having animated endings.) showing the world off alongside giving the characters a deserved happy ending, closure, reintroduction, another chance or getting to do more. my wish for 15's future would be characters(kasumi,shen,vice/mature,krauser,momoko & maybe kensou if he's handled well.),endings for the boss challenges(still feel rugal should've had one/for future bosses would like o. zero/igniz,shion and mukai with botan.) and a gallery mode(like 14/tekken 7 having the entire series media in it.).
Although i do think the balance in the game is better than previous patches, my biggest issue with the current patch is that the strongest characters are some of the most frustrating to play against (Isla and Geese) and characters that were the best got significantly nerfed to the point where they're pretty bad (viable, but very much near the bottom). Both Jenet and Khronen got hit so hard and I felt it was an over-nerf. I loved playing khronen, and I admit he was pretty busted, but a few changes could have easily normalized him. Instead, SNK made him way more annoying to pilot, as some of his routes dont even work consistently anymore. It's a frustrating part of the game where I didn't really want to continue grinding it if such drastic shifts in the meta happened, and characters i really enjoyed playing got absolutely destroyed by a patch.
The reason SNK and ArcSys give for not making DLC costumes is that they consume so much development resources, they may as well spend them making a new character... which sounds odd in KOF's case, as it would imply we could have gotten more characters instead of some of the few alternate costumes. Of course, if the costumes sell well, they basically pay for themselves and then some (to the point that Capcom and NRS are now trying to out-do each other in terms of questionable DLC pricing). It may be that they've done the math, and their games simply don't have an installed base large enough to make the DLC profitable... but I get the feeling it's simply something they're reluctant to do because they aren't convinced it's worthwhile. Like, say, rollback net code. Somehow I doubt they'll stay reluctant once Project L releases, though... competition is good.
Nabil, this video is self explanatory why KOF XV is a great game besides those unfair organizations of actual SNK. A good fighting game isn't needs a good story or even fanserving characters, and SNK knows(even the true motifs of Otona-Raga are unknown). Speaking of her, the default number of characters is 41 with her and ReVerse, and both are unplayable in any version. With the 17 DLCs, the total of characters ups to 58. Few players don't like massive amount of characters in fighting games, but there are many games with more than 65 characters who achieved a sucess, such as KOF 98UM and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. I also hope for a Season 3 for KOF XV, but I not hope for the characters to come are those of most elected by a pool. KOF can be a good game without Shen Woo and Kasumi. It's possible that Alice, Saiki and Kusanagi be included, according for a new and grain of salt rumor.
I believe the game is alive but not where im i live its not that popular but niche at best compared to street fighter and mortal kombat. I enjoy the game and also kof xv was the easiest in the series and perfect for newcomers and yes we need more freaking costumes I understand snk is busy with city of the wolves.
Something I’ve loved about KoF is unique inputs for every character. But the last two kofs making everyone’s level 3 be the same input is kinda mehhhh…
It needs the arranged soundtracks Personally i think abandoning the team dlc format was a mistake Literally no other franchise can do it and make it make sense like kof can
KOF XV needs to have a 1v1 Online Mode. Yes, I know it sounds blasphemous, but KOF is a hard game for a lot of People to learn 3 Characters. & I don't think you're splitting up the Player Base. You're just going to add more People to play the game. Plus eventually a percentage of those Players will get more comfortable with 3 different Characters & eventually want to play traditional KOF. To me, that's better than dumbing your game down to Auto Combos, No Motion Inputs into your 2D Fighting Game.
Kof 15 is the best one yet. I realized that KOF is still niche but much more in depth than most FGC players will give it credit for. DNF duel was a sad story and i guess rollback netcode and cross play isn't enough to save a game, and keep people occupied. it comes down to if you like it you will play enough of it. Honestly if they make kof look different than other fighters it will be hype. GO BACK TO SPRITES in HD like kof XIII that was peak KOF in my opinion
personally the roster and dlc character hurt the game . the game lack to much legacy character , this is my major issue , also stage will be the welcome , let hope season 3 snk buff billy , kof15 isa good game but expect so much more
Main problem i have with the game is the roster. Mainly cause I liked alot of the 14 newcomers and really dont care for the popular ones, so I just dont have 3 characters to care about. But yeah KoFXV is a great fighter, just not the KoF for me. Edit: Also the lobbies. The lobbies are so bad.
XV definitely needs more respect, the hard work they put into this has been nothing short of astounding!
you have no idea what youre talking about
Things I would put as a priority for KOFXV to succeed even further:
Characters
General Feedback
Costumes/Stages
Netcode Improvements
UI Changes
Whatever SNK needs to do with "evolving" the game even further will make a lot of people happy!
It would be nice If KoF 15 gets extra costumes for some chara from the initial roster, who never got any besides Terry and Leona only. Also more stages based on old games.
I REALLY hope there is a season 3. KOF XV is the main fighter I play. Boss Mode Krizalid...I'd love to see that.
Yes! More classic KoF characters, too. Krauser, Eiji, Takuma, and more O.G. characters. Last 2 seasons have had too many woke character designs from the more recent games. Game needs blood spatter back, too. Why do all modern fighters seem so toned down, graphically?
It would get to Season 5 or 6.
SNK plans to support the game for very long.
It would probably enter Season 8.
The next boss could be Orochi more than likely but I'd love for it tb Krizalid or Original Zero especially!
Partially unrelated but those Samurai Shodown wallscrolls are fucking sick dude.
I am terrible at this game but still managed to put 50 hours in it this year and had a blast. When I finally nail a big climax cancel combo there is no better feeling. I hope they continue adding to the game, but if not, there is plenty more coming from SNK to keep me occupied next year
Same here
I'm trash at this game.
I want Season 3 be have 2 new Team, & 4 Singles entrant.
Honestly, for me, Season 3 can just be all additional Boss Challenges. And maybe Oswald. We'll see what rolls out, though.
I think the game is at an incredible spot. Ive been playing some with friends ive meet in streams and they'll tell me after playing "i hadnt been playing much and am still learning but wow this is so much fun. Learning and figuring out how things work and what different characters are capable of feels amazing."
I really hope the SWC gets a lot of attention because it should be an outstanding showcase for the game.
I dont even want to think about 16 yet. Now that SNK has new owners and more money the potential is huge.
The tag system was working great and I think it would work even better today
@@ionutzfulger7347 Or do a more balanced refinement of the striker system
@@kaceejones2282 could be a solution, but i sill think tag is better
I think KOF XV need mini-game update
and Hopefully SNK can announcing KOF XV DLC season 3
Kasumi and Eiji Kisaragi would be epic
I would like SNK to make Art of Fighting 4, & a Last Blade Reboot.
They already said that they started working on a new Art Of Fighting.
4:58 - Geese! Don't forget Geese! And I agree, SNK could monetize some more skins. Just not as expensive as SF 6.
Agreed.
I believe a season 3 announcement could bring the hype back!
And not a lot of single
Player mode.
I understand how you feel
There's a sort of missing feedback mechanism, not just in KOF but in all fighting games, where even losses should have some "reward" mechanism that reminds them they're always getting closer to their optimal skill pool. Everything is a step forward, even if it doesn't feel like one.
I just bought XV, currently downloading. I've been playing XIII for a while now lol
Kofxv is just a really fun game. Sure there may not be as many features as mk1 or sf6 but the gameplay is perfect.
Your set up is fire 🔥.
Thank you!!!
What kind of single player content would you like to see added?
@@NeoGeoNowSingle player matches. Look at MK1 for instance ; Majority of people don't like the CAMEOS. KOF XV needs a single mode where it is 1v1.
Je suis d'accord il faut plus d'arènes dans ce jeu
Great video! Dima Maghreb 🇲🇦
I'm with you 100%, mate. I love Shen Woo (I call him "Shenzão Marvadeza"), Krasuer and Kasumi. Huge fan of those characters too.
The next wave of dlc NEEDS HYPE Characters that will get ppl talking again. Characters such as:
Ryu (SF)
Heihachi (Tekken)
Skullomania (Fighting Ex Layer)
Setsuna (Last Blade 2)
Akira (Virtua Fighter)
etc.
As much as I love SF I can say that KOF has always had a more interest storyline.
I just came back after a long break and now that theres crossplay im getting matches in a minute or 2 , NICEE
And I would like one more season pass like SP2, that fills out some glaring omissions (Daimon Goro, Kensou, Vice, Mature, seriously) and brings back some long-lost souls (Shen, obviously, maybe Gai Tendo, Silber, Malin, Eiji.)
I would even be okay if they played it safe with the free DLC characters.
A new mechanic would be a surprise for sure!
I would like to see Saisyu Kusanagi, Mr. Big, Richard Meyer, Jin Chonrei, Jin Chonshu, return
i loved king of fighters 14 story mode i was so disappointed with 15 barely played it ill have to give another try
There are only a handful of characters i like in MI. Alba is cool though.
kof xv is my favorite kof & fighting games, I want season 3 dlc in kof 30 anniversary
I want it before :D
The mechanics they're more greater , would like next kof to have more deep story like it used to and less otamaraga type of boss bring back human like bosses that doesn't feel empty, and please tell where do u buy ur merch.
agreed about needs more story. The shirt and posters were bought from Japan.
@@StunningSilken people lie about things like that, I wouldn't trust a person say because the Bogard Bros don't look like real boys lol
I hope i see new character such aq khrizald or igniz
That would be dope!
@@NeoGeoNow how is that ?
If they make a season 3 I want these Chracters back:
Chang Koehan
Choi Bounge
Raiden
Hwa Jai
That might be a pretty ugly season.
I hope they release an "Ultimate Edition" or something like that with all DLC characters included in the future so I can finally get KOF XV.
SNK should bring back modes with the tag team mechanic from KOF 2003/XI, and the striker mechanic from KOF from the NESTS saga, to maintain the game's hype. I also think there is a need for more costumes, the modding community is really doing what SNK should do in this regard.
I always love kof since i was 13 years old 😅
Not because im good at it but the art and character and back then kof have hong kong made comic magazine which also have good looking art.
I can't decide kof15 or tekken 8. Never played kof. I'm a tekken fan but kof looks amazing! Thoughts?
I bought this game on release played 60 hours, the online was complete trash so dropped it until today, sf6 is so good so i doubt ill put time into kof but im gonna try it some more
this game is on sale right now on xbox, deluxe editon for 21 bucks. Should i buy it? and is it active? I love fighters and i love sf6 and stuff like that. Looking for unbiased answers. Its on sale for a couple days...really interested in thoughts

Art of fighting 4 could be a great game.
Ank needs to get with the times. You need content, look at sf6,mk1 and what tekken 8 will have. You cant just drop a game and think thats enough. Only hard cores will remain and they are not enough to hold everything together.
Im a bit late to this but. Cries in Billy Kane viability
Story needs also to be better handled because the Shunn'ei is a wasted potential in several aspects but the fact that villains got resurrected now could really make upcoming arcs amazing if well exploited and executed
its the best kof game right now, some players might play 14 for some old times
KOF15 is great but, the lack of single player content and lack of stage variety bothers me. I know covid made them focus less on content and more on everything else. But I wish that SNK would add that content as dlc. Free or not I do want more modes and stages. That's KOF15's weakness.
Other wise KOF15 is very fun and balanced with a meaty roster.
I agree with everything but the time to market in cross play /adjust online play. It matters. There's a bunch of new contenders in fighting games since then and SNK should be more effective on the improvements.
After 2 months, I've stopped playing SF6, because I find it boring. After 2 years, I still play KOF XV everyday! This game is so addictive!
Once you get the hang of KOFXV it become quite addictive!
I agree with yall both...game is fun and match making is a lot better. I wish more ppl were online playing it
It wasn’t necessary to bring up SF6. Bringing down one game to prop up another is a sign of insecurity.
@@azuresaiyan9005 Hardly SF6 is a shit show it shows just how bad it is comparing them
@@azuresaiyan9005 To be honest, they're not to blame. Capcom only gave them 2 costumes for starters. What kind of company does that nonsense ?
Hi,Nabil, thanks,i admit i have also an hard time on understanding the expansion of this game in some fields, like cosmetics and some mechanics. But i love the essence of what SNK propose to us,so i'm not worried,i'm sure that things will get better and better. Do you know that Samsho will have finally the rollback update tomorrow for pc?
I am super excited about Samsho rollback. I was planning to strem the Beta today, but i am just going to wait until the final release tomorrow!
I’m a fan of every fighting game but street fighter, kof, tekken, and mk I love each series but I just don’t understand why here in America it’s not as big as other fighting games
because i think street fighter and mvc had occupied in the USA markets
I just want good connection matches but no one in america is playing
KOF is a very good game ( better than SF6 gameplay wise) but it was DOA because of the terrible matchmaking.
I can find matches all the time now. Just finished an hour long sessions or great matches :D
Is Takuma still missing?
GOOOOOROOOOO, how come the best Judoka in all fighting games is not in? Pleaseeeee GOROOOOOOOOOO, besides that, i m in Brazil and had 1 fight with your id and it was smooth, love the game and agree with almost everything you said, exception points? Kasumi? really? great vid and lets keep kofing
Where did you get the shirt bro!!!
I'd love to see a kind of Round Robin Lobby Mode, or Single/Double Elimination lobbies... or even just a longer "EX Arcade Mode" where you face more matches. But I'm kinda done investing a lot of lab time and matches only to have all that work go belly-up when it matters.
really love kof 15 with art style, characters(compared to 13's roster being very safe/street fighter 6 overglorifying 2 when it should've been alpha, especially 3rd strike and the rest of 4/5's characters in their spots with how much of snk's history is represented very well.),gameplay(really love how fluid yet hard hitting it feels.),passion(them getting the artist of the ova's to make the intro & having interest in making another snk anime would love a kof anime or continuation to the fatal fury ovas.)
story(with how snk/capcom alongside arc system works have the best narrative in fighting games compared to mk being a mess/tekken really having to make up for how they screwed it up do wish there was a story mode that i hope 16 does/would've liked scenes with all the teams helping out.) & especially the endings(outside super heroines where mai & yuri should've been idols with kensou and chin as the clown acts, hinako should've been her having her doing sumo with the people she met & maybe having animated endings.) showing the world off alongside giving the characters a deserved happy ending, closure, reintroduction, another chance or getting to do more.
my wish for 15's future would be characters(kasumi,shen,vice/mature,krauser,momoko & maybe kensou if he's handled well.),endings for the boss challenges(still feel rugal should've had one/for future bosses would like o. zero/igniz,shion and mukai with botan.) and a gallery mode(like 14/tekken 7 having the entire series media in it.).
No more update about the season3 ,I hope the DLC characters have Duck King,Shion,Mr.Big,Krauser,USA team,Eiji and Krizalid
I want to know a way to self boost in ranked mode. I have this game both in PC and PS but couldn't even meet each other in ranked
We need Big bear!!!
Can you plz make the new tier list
do u guys know the sales figures od kof 15 ?
if they can bring some characters from king of combat would be great, brazel and all of the characters
It's possible that Alice, Saiki and Kusanagi be included, according for a new and grain of salt rumor.
i hate kof 98um UI, it sucks and ugly, other than that its great
I was wondering, how Many units KOFXV have sold so far...? Thanks
I'm i the only one who don't like the auto combos i wish it was an offline thing only (I still love the game)
They are pretty useless, i just don't use them and forget they exist. they are also pretty predictable to defend against.
Imho KOF XIV is better. Just but XV's graphics on that one and a better netcode and we're all set.
I believe the game is alive but not where im i live its not that popular but niche at best compared to street fighter and mortal kombat. I enjoy the game and also kof xv was the easiest in the series and perfect for newcomers and yes we need more freaking costumes I understand snk is busy with city of the wolves.
jhun and may lee, stance characters
Something I’ve loved about KoF is unique inputs for every character. But the last two kofs making everyone’s level 3 be the same input is kinda mehhhh…
It needs the arranged soundtracks
Personally i think abandoning the team dlc format was a mistake
Literally no other franchise can do it and make it make sense like kof can
KOF XV needs to have a 1v1 Online Mode.
Umm there already is an online 1 v 1 mode. It's just not many people play it
Samurai showdown needs life and not be put on the shelf
I want lucky glauber to come back. I want a better ui cuz the current one looks not so great.
As much as i would love to see SNK go back to 2D, i dont see that happening. It is way too expensive.
Update to break mods in pc version
personally the roster and dlc character hurt the game . the game lack to much legacy character , this is my major issue , also stage will be the welcome , let hope season 3 snk buff billy , kof15 isa good game but expect so much more
Main problem i have with the game is the roster. Mainly cause I liked alot of the 14 newcomers and really dont care for the popular ones, so I just dont have 3 characters to care about. But yeah KoFXV is a great fighter, just not the KoF for me.
Edit: Also the lobbies. The lobbies are so bad.
I forgot to mention the lobbies! Yes the lobbies are not great that is for sure. I miss 14 lobbies.
Daimon and chin plz
Instead of a Season 3, wait for KOF XVI.
