Yes, I saw the passes are booked for the coming days. Though the gondola ride doesn't work like flight tickets (You don't get a reserved seat). The cable cars continuously rotates around Gulmarg base station, phase 1 & phase 2. So you can a local guide (costs around 800-1000INR/Day). He might be able to help you get inside gondola. But don't worry even if you are able to get to gondola there are ton's of other activities like ice skiing, sledging, snow boarding etc.

Yes I saw it is quite packed for the coming days. But Gulmarg's gondola ride tickets are not like tickets in a plane(You don't have reserved specific seat alloted). It revolves to and fro from base station - phase 1 - phase 2. So I think you can hire a local guide (costs around 800-1000INR/day). And he might be able to get inside with a little extra money. But don't worry even if you don't get inside there are plenty of things to do like sight seeing, sledge ride, ice skiing, skating, snowmobile, snow boarding etc
