I've been keeping Neocaridina for a while, one of my all time favorite aquatic critters. This is the best hatching/first few seconds of life footage I've seen on them! Thanks. But 1 question, how do the eggs transfer from the saddle to the undercarriage of the tail? I'm assuming the saddle is somehow connected to the digestive system and she "poops" them out under her tail? No idea lol
@Bruce The Snoose There's a special pore underneath the tail / swimmerets where the eggs leave her body. It's not part of the digestive system. It's part of the reproductive system, and it's the same pore where the male's sperm enters the female. As the eggs leave her body, she positions them where they need to be using her back legs.
