I love the way the tension is racked up with the accent on the first beat of every bar, makes sure the song is always going somewhere. Just re-commenting on this because I'm working on a real guitar cover for this song, although some parts toned down so they're physically possible of course ;)
I think this song is super awesome. I'm pretty close to 5 star now (I think, whatever 467k is) but my favorite parts are the triplet chords and from Complications to HALT STOP is my favorite.
Well, I would imagine that schmutz decided to abide by a different approach when creating this song. I'm sure that it isn't intended to have any melodic structure. It was inspired by DCoLN, after all.

On the subject of taking emphasis away from FL slayer, FL slayer stands out a lot as you can probably notice, it doesn't have to be THAT highlighted. Making a song sound deeper and have more background tracks makes it more complex and better overall imo.
Though I disagree more on the instrument usage than the song itself, and you have way more musical knowledge than I do, but this is my opinion. It's your choice to disagree with it. I don't mean to say that your songs are bad or that I don't like you in any way, you're still awesome. I'm just tired of synth and patterns is all. I'd say it's time for something new. This song is a good example for that, and I tried suggesting something which I thought could've improved it.

Music is highly subjective afterall. But a pattern is obviously repetition; it has to repeat in order to be a pattern. Your songs are mostly made up of patterns, therefore are repetitive. There's also something hard for me to explain that I feel, some songs feel like they're progressing and the theme changes into something else; other songs just feel like the same thing or have no feeling to them. There's also repetition there.

What I dislike about this is that it's repetitive and pattern-y (like every other custom) because most of the custom song makers today aren't actually musicians and/or don't dedicate themselves enough to every song. I've noticed that InfamousColin's songs (or some of them) aren't repetitive and they're awesome. It would've also been better if you used a heavier beat to match FL slayer, or some kind of bass. I still like this more than your other songs, I'm fucking sick of synth songs.
