    Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting is the best fighting game ever. FIGHT ME. And change the marquee to Hyper Fighting, don’t be that guy.

      I have this exact same cab, except it came already with Hyper Fighting and the matching marquee. I upgraded it to the CPS-2 Grand Master Challenge, and don’t miss HF at all. It just offers sooo much more, and is so much faster. There’s no coming back.

    This was a great video. I had no idea going from SF2:CE to SF2T:HF were just some add on hardware. I always figured it was a new board. This is the one arcade cabinet I wish to own one day as an original. Nice to know I can get it as two versions (whenever that day comes)

      @@RetroRalph Thanks, still anxious to see the Virtual Arcade running FX3 tables. I got my Virtual Pinball cab up and running, but just the internals, I need to build the enclosure, and today I ordered a 27" mtr to replace the 24" playfield. I modified the Coinops Pinball Standalone, it now plays 68 Tables instead of the 40. But I really want the Universal Tables and the Williams ones, but I can't seem to find a solution, other than buying them all on Steam and using that FX3 software in the cab.

      Awesome man, how's the artwork on your cabinet? I'm ordering new artwork for the Bezel as mine is pretty beat up. It's reverse printed on the acrylic so it should be plug n' play. I didn't order the side art yet because the sides need some serious love first.

    • @richphillips6119
      @richphillips6119 4 роки тому

      Retro Ralph hey man, thanks for replying. I want to redo all the artwork on the cab. Other people tell me it’s fine, but I’m very picky and would prefer it looking pristine. Thanks to you I’ve found a couple of websites that sell the artwork.

      Also Ralph, can you share an image/photo of what the original artwork for a SF2 Hyper Fighting edition looks like? I have a feeling mine is not original. It has a texture paint on it.

    With the release of Big Blue and everyone playing Elderly Edition, this video is what the Arcade1Up community needs to see right now lol.
    I can understand if someone does not prefer Super Street Fighter 2 since it has a different music font style and some costume colors are just annoying subjectively speaking (banana ken, orange and brown ryu), but there's almost no logical reason for people to only play SF2 CE over hyper fighting other than they didn't realize they probably were playing SF2 Hyper Fighting or grew out of gaming before Capcom released the upgrade. But at the moment impossible to find HSF2/SF2T players.
    Besides that it was pretty neat seeing the original arcade board upgrade. It's great that you are preserving history in a way by documenting this so clearly and accessibly for us here 👍

    • @RetroRalph
      @RetroRalph  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks bud, yeah, Hyper Fighting is my favorite of all of them for sure. Inspired by Rainbow, kind of a cool story and interesting that Capcom jumped to satisfy the gamers with their own version. Rainbow was crazy though... haha. Anyhow, I appreciate you stoping by and watching and especially appreciate you taking the time to comment.

    • @blyrax
      @blyrax 3 роки тому +1

      Boss, i've got two questions for you:
      1. Why? HF had more special moves. not starting a fight, i'm just wondering why you prefer it; i can't see myself using Chun li without a fireball, or Blanka without a vertical roll.
      2. In CE, are Ken and Ryu's hurricane kicks identical- as they were in WW? or are they different- Ken's being fast with multiple hits and Ryu's having one hit that knocks the opponent down?

    I won a bid on a street fighter arcade cab at an auction. Something completely tragic happened to me, while unloading it at home from the uhaul it lost balance and broke into pieces. The CRT monitor went. Heard all sorts of hissing(tube) and I pretty much lost the cab.
    Now, 2 weeks later a miracle has occurred. A street fighter hyper edition cab on Facebook that needs a new mother board surfaced but unfortunately it has a LCD screen in it. How hard would it be to install a new CRT monitor in the cab should I find one that fits? I’ve been trying to find a video of someone installing a new monitor in an arcade cab for reference but no luck. I know about discharging and all that but wondering about wiring

      There's a lose connection where the video input is on the monitor chassis. I know it's the cold solder joint because I applied a bit of heat and it works for a short time and goes out again. I believe If I fix the solder joint I should be good to go. I shorted the transistor on the neckbeard for red to make sure red is working and it lit up like a Christmas tree so that's a good sign. I'm learning as I go on CRT's but so far so good. It looks like it was recapped recently so I hope it's just the connection and I'm good to go.
