I was very young, I had started listening to music about two years ago and this song left me speechless, since this song I have been a Queen fan. Music has no limits, if you're as good as Queen. Howe played the Spanish guitar, they found him on a street in Switzerland. When the band asked him to add something like Paco de Lucía, he thought that he loved the song as it was, but maybe it would be a good idea to add that "De Lucía" part. When he started doing his job he got scared thinking that maybe he was destroying a wonderful song. In the end. Steve Howe always says that he's very, very proud of that part of the song. Freddie was very sick and that is the reason for the video. They use parts of videos from other albums and use 4 artists to characterize the band members. Freddie is Leonardo, Deacon is Picasso (I don't remember the others). I think the video won some awards. After the video, Freddie said that he didn't want it to end up as a cartoon and in the following videos he would appear in person, more or less characterized.
Yes, Freddie is drawn in a style of Leonardo da Vinci, John in a style of Pablo Picasso, Brian in a style of Victorian Etching and Roger in a style of Jackson Pollock.
Freddie and Roger were mainly responsible for the lyrics. Brian wrote the rock sections. I think the video is marvelous. Just as in their lyrics, Queen loves to leave things in videos up to interpretation.
Phenomenal! This is considered Bohemian Rhapsody's younger sister and "March of the black Queen" is considered the Older sister. Not only is Queen a band of geniuses that transcend everything imaginable and stand the test of time, but of deep, creative thinkers that border on (if not totally delve into) philosophical! Its really interesting and clever how they decided on which artist or artistic style each member of the band was illustrated in homage to: Freddie in homage to Leonardo Da Vinci, Dr. Sir Brian after victorian etchings, John in homage to Picasso, and Roger after Jackson Pollock.
Freddie represented Leonardo Di Vinci Brian May represented Victorian Etchings Roger Taylor represented Jackson Pollock This idea was likely Freddie as he loved the Arts 😊
From what I read somewhere, Freddie and Roger worked on the lyrics for Innuendo and Brian was responsible for the arrangements. Freddie, under the influence of the album he had recorded with Montserrat Caballé, decided that the song would have a Spanish sound. In the video, each member of the band was portrayed as a great painter of history. Freddie was Leonardo da Vinci, Roger was Jackson Pollock, Brian was a craftsman from the Victorian empire and John was Pablo Picasso. Perhaps this explains why his face in the video is shown as a colorful painting. As a suggestion, next time you could react to "My life has been saved".
The images of the band were portrayed as painting styles of different artist, Fred was drawn in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, Bri, in the style of Victorian etchings, Rog, in the style of Jackson Pollock, and John, in the style of Pablo Picasso
There is a story how Steve Howe got to play at 👑 Innuendo: The band was in their recording studio in Montreaux, Switzerland recording the album in 1990, Steve Howe was in Geneva at that time and had a spontaneous ride to Montreux but didn't know Queen were at their studio. They knew and respected each other from 1971. Steve got to a restaurant for lunch where he was spotted by a tech who was a tech for Yes at the beginning but then adopted by Queen. He was surprised and excited to see Steve and invited him to visit the boys in a studio. After lunch Steve walked to the studio and found Freddie , Brian and Roger waiting for him. Steve said: "They were sitting there together. These guys were tight as a duck's arse. 🙃They said: Let us play you the album. I listened to I Can't Live With You, I'm Going Slightly Mad and they saved Innuendo till last. They played me the Innuendo and I was blown away. Then they dropped the bombshell: Do you want to play on the track? 😮 I was stunned and said that Brian has done a marvellous job. But Brian insisted: We want some crazy Spanish guitar flying around over the top! I've done some stuff there but on Spanish guitar I really don't improvise. Don't just sit on that thing, play right away across! ... So I chose one of three flamenco guitars they had and we doodled and noodled and I had thought that I've bitten more than I could chew! I had to learn some structure and I improvised... It took us a few hours. Then we went to dinner and when we got back we listened to that part and boys were amazed saying: That's great! That's what we wanted! 😮❤ ... and that was it. I drove back to Geneva and some days later I received their thank you letter and credits to the song!" ❤
@@CoachCastTVmore I think about how it happened, more I believe that somehow it had to happen that way and it wasn't just a coincidence (almost the universe made it happen) ...
@@gabrielcaprav Steve Howe and members of Queen knew and admired each other from early 1971 when Queen supported Yes at Kingston Polytechnic gig. 😮 Steve said that later they were all running into each other at studios and socially too. He also said that he likes bands that have camaraderie and Queen were a great example of that. He thought of them being down to earth and never looking down on anybody. All different personalities but very much a self-contained band. They were like family. Steve himself is a very humble and down to earth man and exceptional guitarist. He was so proud that he was the only guitarist that ever played on the Queen song. He spoke about Brian and the boys with a lot of admiration. ❤️
To me, Innuendo is one of those songs that grow on you the more you listen to it. Complex for sure. I have another song for you and Mrs Coach (as if you need it) ... if you want to hear just how great Freddie Mercury is live, check out Rock in Rio Blues (live). Definitely not your typical Queen song, it was written just for the fans at the Rock in Rio concert. Freddie's vocals are amazing! You'll wish you got to see him perform live after hearing this one!
Early Queen, Late Queen, I love it all. A bit of history on this, it came about in a jam session when they got into the studio when Freddie was near the end of his life. A few years ago some Queen fans got to go and listen to the jam recordings after winning a competition, hopefully they will one day be released to the public.
G'day Coach & Mrs Coach. hadn't heard this one before. Freddie's voice at it's best i feel and the guitar work brilliant. Roger at his best. Love the feel of this. Queen did Queen, end of story. The lyrics are brilliant , the visuals quite chaotic and I guess an enigma. Great honest reaction from you both. Cheers, Rich
actually i find the video quite perfect to the song because as the lyrics approximately say „whilst our life is dictated by tradition, superstition and greed, the world goes slowly down through those humane struggles“. those struggles are clearly depicted in this cool video in my opinion.
The innuendo songs is definitely influenced by Led Zeppelin according to Roger. Brian asked Yes guitarist Steve Howe to guest on the track playing the wandering minstrel part ( Spanish guitar)
Hey guys‼️ Your channel is doing so great! Congrats. 🎊🎉 And, thanks for doing the Queen reactions, I do love them‼️ This music video won the Monitor Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Video Filming!! And, the song is a masterpiece, part of the Queen trifecta - March of the Black Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, & Innuendo! Happy 4th of July‼️🎉🌠🇺🇸
Great song! Speaking in innuendo is when you say something indirectly - often of a hurtful or sexual nature. Innuendo in Latin means "to point to" or "nod to." When you refer to something indirectly, you point at it without mentioning it, making an innuendo.
This song is so complex and yet so throught provoking. Steve Howe (Yes Band) is playing the Spanish Guitar with Brian. The year the video came out it won the award for the most innovative video.
Queen number ones in UK where Bohemian Rhapsody ( Nov 1975) then Under Pressure (Nov 1981) followed by Innuendo ( Jan 1991) then Bohemian Rhapsody (Jan 1991). Face It Alone released in 2022 was the most downloaded song in the world for five days in a row and topped the iTunes download charts in 21 countries and number one on the UK Official Vinyl Singles Chart on 25 November 2022. The music for Innuendo was written by Freddie the lyrics were written by Freddie and Roger. The song started as a jam session in Switzerland amongst Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon in spring 1989. Freddie Mercury was upstairs and heard them playing the beat, and turned it into a song, creating the melody and starting off the lyrics. The song was credited to all the band as all the music on the Miracle album was. Freddie'a health was failing him by the time the was released hence the video style. Personally I think it's a masterpiece.
If you want to hear Brian absolutely kill it on his guitar react to the lyric video called Bijou. It’s 90% guitar with Freddie only singing one verse. It’s simply amazing.
this is their last studio album they recorded...together. It is quite a genius song, and the video is odd, but at this time, Freddie was done doing videos. I love that they are their own genre, it keeps them so interesting to me. A little something for everyone!! always love and appreciate your reactions!
Queen could be very proggy, the prog genre is just fantastic, bands like Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, ELP, Dream Theater, Riverside, Marillion, Kansan, Rush, Gentle Giant, Moody Blues.
@@bluebell3720I’m fairly certain at least 3 of the following also reached number 1. Another one bites the dust, crazy little thing called love, one vision,a kind of magic and I want it all.
Hi folks! Boy, it always gets great right at the end, yeah? When this came out, I couldn't believe it. The "old" Queen was back! Having no idea it was Freddie's tip of the hat on his way out the door. This whole record was stellar, but this one, batting leadoff no less, outshone anything they'd done musically, lyrically, maybe since the 70s. It made a world of difference when they started crediting all the songs to everyone. but we all knew who wrote what. The only song this compares to is Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir", which Robert Plant couldn't help dropping in to his performance of this song at the tribute show. (It was nice, but I think his ego made him do it. I think he was a little jealous.) When I play this one, and I play it a lot, I play it *loud*. Love you guys!
Hello guys, first time commenting on your channel, hope all is going well there! Innuendo was the last work the whole group recorded together. As for the video, I recall hearing in some interviews with Peter Freestone (Freddie's personal assistant) that Freddie did not want to be remembered with a last video as a sort of puppet or animation, so then they recorded the very last and emotional one "These are the days of our lives" which was the very last one, and as a farewell with one last message to Queen fans at the end of it. Also, another very powerful song on this very same album is "The Show Must go on" I think that one has the most powerful vocals from Freddie. May I suggest a song Coach will also probably like, "Princes of the Universe", you need to check that one out, Brian is not using his usual Red Special on that one. Much love from Spain!
From Innuendo album I strongly recommend listening to: *I'm Going Slightly Mad, *Headlong, *All Gods People, *These Are The Days Of Our Lives, *Hitman, *Bijou, *The Show Must Go On I like all the songs .... ❤ yes, even *Delilah 😅 (I admire how Brian is making his Red Special MEOW 🙃 and how sweet Freddie sounds singing about his beloved CAT)
While we live according to race, colour or creed While we rule by blind madness and pure greed Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion Through the aeons, and on and on
John's image is Picasso inspired, whilst Rog was Jackson Pollock, Freddie DaVinci and Bri was a Victorian etching (think i remembered that correctly lol)
It was Rogers conception, this song is often quoted as being Queen's only protest song and Roger has a history in that department, you need to check his song"The unblinking eye" to appreciate what I mean.
It's not my favorite Queen song. But when you listen again, you will appreciate the sounds and lyrics more. I think Queen is the only band that is not afraid to try different styles when it comes to music. They are really amazing! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Coach for your honest reaction. Stay safe!
Hey Mr. and Mrs. C., I really thought you would have loved this award-winning masterpiece... if you watch it again, I'm sure you will learn to appreciate the intricacies of its brilliance... Here is what Wikipedia had to say... "A very elaborate music video was created to accompany the single and released on 20 December 1990, combining stop motion animation with rotoscoping and featuring dolls in a detailed miniature cinema set. The band members only appear as illustrations and images, mainly taken from earlier Queen music videos (such as "The Miracle", "Scandal", "Breakthru", "The Invisible Man", "I Want It All", and clips from the then unreleased "Live at Wembley '1986"), on a cinema screen in the same manner as in the film Nineteen Eighty-Four, with Mercury drawn in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, May in the style of Victorian etchings, Taylor in the style of Jackson Pollock, and Deacon in the style of Pablo Picasso.[11] It also featured a montage of historical stock footages, including from both WWII and the Gulf War. The interlude of Flamenco music showed claymation figures of jesters performing, which were animated by Klaybow Films. The video received heavy rotation on MTV Europe[12] and won production company DoRo (who also produced the videos to all other singles from the Innuendo album) a Monitor Award for Best Achievement in Music Video." Some people refer to this song as the third masterpiece in the trilogy of masterpieces that are Queen... the first being "The March of the Black Queen", then "Bohemian Rhapsody" and then "Innuendo"... although I believe Brian's "The Prophet's Song" is the most underrated song and should be included in their great masterpieces in its own right... such brilliance in musical artistry is almost beyond comprehension... love and blessings to all.
Jhon is a Picasso.. This song has been recorded during the falling of Sowiet Union and basically it's about the unknown about the future.. The future of the people of that time of course.. and there's a little bit of his pain about the fact that he was diyng and he knows it.. very sad.. that's why this album is a very dark one.. but far their best
Hello Mr & Mrs Coach. May I remind you that Inuendo was made months before Freddie Mercury's death. So wasn't fit enough to appear in person for video. So this is why it's like this. I do agree with your view regarding John Deacons portrail on the video. This is song is like Bohemian Raphsody with regard it seems to be a mix up of songs rolled into one song. This is my insight about it.
I had to cheat i googled it. According to google Queen had 6 number one hits in the UK.Bohemian Raphsody ďid reach number one twice 1975 and again after we lost Freddie.
Dr May would like to have a conversation with you about time.. what other band has written a song about time relativity (and actually knew what they were talking about). Track is called 39!
All the members are drawn in the style of famous artists. Not a matter of being lifelike... Mercury: Leonardo da Vinci Deacon: Pablo Picasso May: Victorian etchings Taylor: Jackson Pollock
P.S. The band are done from composites of earlier videos as Freddie was way too sick to be on camera at this late date. That was the way John looked in, oh, I think it was one of those "Magic" videos. My memory these days. Anyway, all those came from past videos.
I love how authentic your reactions are... just yesterday I was watching a reaction by a "music producer", who said he had never once in his life listened to "Bohemian Rhapsody"... It was so fake that I stopped watching... and went to your reaction to "Somebody to love" to clean my palate hahaha
🤣 That's still one of our favorite videos. We obviously had heard some Queen music in earlier years but have discovered so much about them through having this channel and all the wonderfully informative comments.
I love early Queen, I love late Queen (in fact Innuendo, Show must go on and Mother Love are all late Queen and imo great songs). But it is true. Even I as a die-hard fan have difficulties to like certain Queen songs. But it is only a handful that I cannot listen to at all. Since 1988 Queen is my passion.
Actually false information Queen had 6 No1 single hits in there home country United Kingdom 🇬🇧, also Queen greatest hits album is still today the best selling album ever in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, up to Freddie’s death Queen had 14 albums,I actually attended many Queen concerts during the 70s and 80s they in my opinion one of the best live bands ever, great reaction thanks 🙏
I wish they had Uk Bohemian rhapsody x 2 Under pressure Innuendo Technically these are the days of our lives 1991 only because it was double A side with Bo Rap When it was previously released independently it did not reach top ten 1991 all media only refered to Bo Rap as being no 1 not both
The acoustic guitar is played by Steve Howe. He is from the Progressive Group Yes. Another fine group with albums up to date. They had great albums from 71 to 80 except one that was a clunker. This track is going back to Prog. My mother loved it, but generally didn't like Prog music.
The first time I heard this I didn't like it at all and planned never to listen to it again! Yet, the more I listen, the more powerful it has become. The characters are all designed after famous artists' work, and John, I believe, is designed in the style of Picasso. Persevere with it!
The Spanish guitar is played by Steve Howe, a British guitar virtuoso, best known for his participation in the prog rock band "Yes".
Some of it not all of it.

Yes, Freddie is drawn in a style of Leonardo da Vinci, John in a style of Pablo Picasso, Brian in a style of Victorian Etching and Roger in a style of Jackson Pollock.
That's some very cool background info. Thanks for sharing!
Amen to that people🙂
❤❤Each band member represents a different style of art.John represented Picasso
Ah, very cool.
Freddie represented Leonardo Di Vinci
Brian May represented Victorian Etchings
Roger Taylor represented Jackson Pollock
This idea was likely Freddie as he loved the Arts 😊
Great recommendation! Unlike most of the hardcore fans I like the 1995 version the most 😊
Freddie wrote all the music and half the lyrics with Roger.
The images of the band were portrayed as painting styles of different artist, Fred was drawn in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, Bri, in the style of Victorian etchings, Rog, in the style of Jackson Pollock, and John, in the style of Pablo Picasso
O alcance vocal do Feddie Mercury era impressionante
There is a story how Steve Howe got to play at 👑 Innuendo:
The band was in their recording studio in Montreaux, Switzerland recording the album in 1990, Steve Howe was in Geneva at that time and had a spontaneous ride to Montreux but didn't know Queen were at their studio.
... and that was it. I drove back to Geneva and some days later I received their thank you letter and credits to the song!" ❤
Wow, that's a fantastic story of how this came together.
@@CoachCastTVmore I think about how it happened, more I believe that somehow it had to happen that way and it wasn't just a coincidence (almost the universe made it happen) ...
Thank you for sharing that story, man! Innuendo is one of my favorite Queen tracks but I never knew how the Steve Howe collaboration came about.
@@gabrielcaprav Steve Howe and members of Queen knew and admired each other from early 1971 when Queen supported Yes at Kingston Polytechnic gig. 😮
Steve said that later they were all running into each other at studios and socially too.
I'd *LOVE* to see you guys react to Queen's official music video for "Princes Of The Universe" from *_HIGHLANDER_* 🗡
BoRhap's "little"sister, just as "March of the Black Queen " is it's "big"one. Queen's holy trifecta of absolute masterpieces.
Early Queen, Late Queen, I love it all. A bit of history on this, it came about in a jam session when they got into the studio when Freddie was near the end of his life. A few years ago some Queen fans got to go and listen to the jam recordings after winning a competition, hopefully they will one day be released to the public.
Wow, that was surely a big deal to those fans.
Thanks a bunch!
Classic Queen!
You should also check out the song Headlong from this great album. Thanks guys.
Great reaction guys love the way you both open minded to the message in this song
actually i find the video quite perfect to the song because as the lyrics approximately say „whilst our life is dictated by tradition, superstition and greed, the world goes slowly down through those humane struggles“. those struggles are clearly depicted in this cool video in my opinion.
Hey team ‼️back to good stuff again 😎great reaction yet again 💥💥terrific lyrics on this one
That's interesting, very cool reaction!
Hi there! Thank you so much for the kind words. We will certainly need to do the first part of the trifecta soon.
Great song! Speaking in innuendo is when you say something indirectly - often of a hurtful or sexual nature. Innuendo in Latin means "to point to" or "nod to." When you refer to something indirectly, you point at it without mentioning it, making an innuendo.
From the same album you've probably had several requests: The Show Must Go On.
Last dance for freddy .. not last song but....for me a masterpiece 😘
Lyrics were written by Freddie and Roger!
This song is so complex and yet so throught provoking. Steve Howe (Yes Band) is playing the Spanish Guitar with Brian. The year the video came out it won the award for the most innovative video.
It's definitely a creative video.
You were kind of speechless there 😁 great and authentic reaction, as always, thanks!!!
Sometimes Queen just makes you lack for words.
If you want to hear Brian absolutely kill it on his guitar react to the lyric video called Bijou. It’s 90% guitar with Freddie only singing one verse. It’s simply amazing.
As for the depictions of the band members. They decided to illustrate each of an a specific artist rendition. John picked Picasso.
this is their last studio album they recorded...together. It is quite a genius song, and the video is odd, but at this time, Freddie was done doing videos. I love that they are their own genre, it keeps them so interesting to me. A little something for everyone!! always love and appreciate your reactions!
Not true, he did three other videos after this one...the collage fitted the video better...
Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor wrote this but, credited to Queen .
Queen could be very proggy, the prog genre is just fantastic, bands like Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, ELP, Dream Theater, Riverside, Marillion, Kansan, Rush, Gentle Giant, Moody Blues.
They had 3 uk number ones. Bohemian rhapsody, under pressure and this.
Thanks for that info.
Queen had 6 number 1 singles in the UK. All four members wrote parts of this song.

I support and suggest Gimme The Prize 🤘
I agree!! "Princes of the Universe" has one of the most astounding vocals by Freddie (and that's saying a lot!!!)
We appreciate the great comment and suggestions. Thanks for watching!
From Innuendo album I strongly recommend listening to:
*I'm Going Slightly Mad,
*Headlong,
*All Gods People,
*These Are The Days Of Our Lives,
*Hitman,
*Bijou,
*The Show Must Go On
I like all the songs .... ❤
yes, even *Delilah 😅 (I admire how Brian is making his Red Special MEOW 🙃 and how sweet Freddie sounds singing about his beloved CAT)
🤣
John Deacon is rendered as a Picasso.
Roger described the song as Oscar Wild meets Led Zeppelin
😁
While we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
Through the aeons, and on and on
John's image is Picasso inspired, whilst Rog was Jackson Pollock, Freddie DaVinci and Bri was a Victorian etching (think i remembered that correctly lol)
John was in the style of Pablo Picasso, Freddie was Leonardo Da Vinci, Brian Victorian Etchings & Roger Jackson Pollock x
It was Rogers conception, this song is often quoted as being Queen's only protest song and Roger has a history in that department, you need to check his song"The unblinking eye" to appreciate what I mean.
Is This The World We Created?
It's not my favorite Queen song. But when you listen again, you will appreciate the sounds and lyrics more. I think Queen is the only band that is not afraid to try different styles when it comes to music. They are really amazing! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Coach for your honest reaction. Stay safe!
You should react to Brighton Rock - Live killers, I've seen a very few videos reacting to that song and it's completely amazing
It's the 90s bohemian rhapsody...well bohemian rhapsody was no1 3 times and a number 1 with Bowie but aye only songs as queeen...crazy
Hey Mr.
The video received heavy rotation on MTV Europe[12] and won production company DoRo (who also produced the videos to all other singles from the Innuendo album) a Monitor Award for Best Achievement in Music Video."
Some people refer to this song as the third masterpiece in the trilogy of masterpieces that are Queen... the first being "The March of the Black Queen", then "Bohemian Rhapsody" and then "Innuendo"... although I believe Brian's "The Prophet's Song" is the most underrated song and should be included in their great masterpieces in its own right... such brilliance in musical artistry is almost beyond comprehension... love and blessings to all.
Great info. Certainly a lot of artistic talent went into this one, both musically and visually.
Barcelona has to be next guys 😊
On the channel now, in fact.
@CoachCastTV I will check it out thanks 😊
The Innuendo video was made in 1989-90 , Freddie passed away in November 24th 1991!
Actually video was made late 1990 and released on 20th Dec 1990...
I had to cheat i googled it. According to google Queen had 6 number one hits in the UK.Bohemian Raphsody ďid reach number one twice 1975 and again after we lost Freddie.
Good to know. Thanks for fact checking.
Dr May would like to have a conversation with you about time.. what other band has written a song about time relativity (and actually knew what they were talking about). Track is called 39!
Under Pressure was number 1 also here in the UK
Freddie started with a lyric when he heard the others jamming but Roger took over and wrote most of the lyrics
Freddie main lyrical part was be anything you want to be
Composed prodiminatly Freddie
Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor wrote the song but was credited to Queen
All the members are drawn in the style of famous artists. Not a matter of being lifelike...
Mercury: Leonardo da Vinci
Deacon: Pablo Picasso
May: Victorian etchings
Taylor: Jackson Pollock
P.S. The band are done from composites of earlier videos as Freddie was way too sick to be on camera at this late date. That was the way John looked in, oh, I think it was one of those "Magic" videos. My memory these days. Anyway, all those came from past videos.
Very good info. Thanks for sharing!
😮😂❤❤ I totally agree.
Under Pressure also was number 1
Freddie=Leonardo da Vinci
May = Victorians images

The acoustic guitar is played by Steve Howe. He is from the Progressive Group Yes. Another fine group with albums up to date. They had great albums from 71 to 80 except one that was a clunker.
This track is going back to Prog.
My mother loved it, but generally didn't like Prog music.
Remember, Freddy wasn’t well and they did this “animate” video was probably to help hide this.
Makes sense.
This is some great information. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Freddy and Roger wrote it
The first time I heard this I didn't like it at all and planned never to listen to it again! Yet, the more I listen, the more powerful it has become. The characters are all designed after famous artists' work, and John, I believe, is designed in the style of Picasso. Persevere with it!
