So sorry you lost your Father this weekend. Zach you and Jen are making him proud by helping people by being great educators. Bless your family. Just by watching you he had to b an awesome man.
I am sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost mine loo ast year in September. I love watching you two g and eat teachers. I was going to sell my jalapenos but I think I will make jalapeno cowboy candy. Stivers are the best. God Bless
My father in law had a HUGE garden years ago and as a thank you for letting me free pick I wanted to make him salsa for lunch one day. I learned the HARD way about hot peppers! I had to take two Benadryl to stop hurting so bad and then had to go back to work for two hours after that! (I was bus aide for handicapped children back then) worst day ever lol!! I’m so sorry about your father 💔 sending some love!
Hey Zach, we found a much easier way to freeze corn on a cobb. Out side in big pot boil corn in the shuck for three minutes. Silk comes right off and it is ready for the freezer. Also if you are cutting corn off the cobb it makes it so much easier. Was so glad when I found this easier way. Saves much time. Enjoy your channel so much!
just made cowboy candy for the first time and canned it. 17 jalopeno plants. canned 24 pints made lots of stuffed jalopenos. and even dried some.. love your family and love jalopeno peppers
HOW CUTE IS THAT TINY PUMPKIN! 😱😱😱 HES THE CUTEST FELLA EVER ❤️❤️ Also, we had a good friend in Cali that didnt follow the ‘wear gloves to chop chilies’ rule, ended up danglin his dingaling in a glass of milk to try ease the fire. As hilarious as it was to us females, every man shed a tear for him that day. Fellas, wear your gloves. Lil mate will thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awesome funny your kids are looking so alike You. The boy looks like the Mom and the girl looks llike Dad so funny and cute. You are a very Nice Family with lots of love that is beautiful to See . 👍🏻👍🏻
Off topic but..... my very favorite part of your intro is when you are at the stove at the very end.... the love with that hug is felt all the way up here in northern Minnesota ♡ what a blessing to your kidlets to have a loving momma and daddy ♡ you can feel and see the love in your home ♡ thanks for sharing with us....
I cut up 28 jalapeños today and pulled vegetables from garden onions, carrots, bell peppers. And had 4 green tomatoes and use Mrs. Wages Bread and butter pickle seasoning so easy and all your seasoning is there. So delicious
I also freeze corn. We just shuck it, clean it, wrap it in heavy duty Reynolds wrap and put in the freezer. That's how my great grandma taught me. She also made cream style corn and she put it in freezer bags and froze it as well.
I made my first batch of Cowboy candy last fall while I had Covid! I had no sense of taste or smell at the time. I remember being excited that I caught the faintest whisp of a vinegar smell, only to find out from our son that everyone else was being chased out of the house by the powerful smells! Now I can smell and taste, and one of my go to treats for pizza or crackers and cream cheese is the cowboy candy. It's sooooo good! Will definitely make it again.
Hi Jenn&Zach!!! I really enjoyed watching you make these jalapeno candies. My Son and Grandsons would really like this recipe for sure. You 2 are just so sweet I am enjoying your channel. May GOD be with you family at this time of loss. Its always sad to loose a parent ♡. Take care. A fan&friend. DiDi
I also freeze corn, i make a corn brine, and add it to my corn. Buddy loves cowboy candy like a crazy man.. you can cut them in half, take seeds out and you just have spear cuts, you can also add back in the amount of seeds you think will give you the heat you want, without blistering your mouth.. Beautiful Blessings on your dinner table, continued prayers.
3 Wal Mart bags, holy cow!!! Jen telling it like it is!! WEAR GLOVES ,LOL!! You cutting cukes is like GDP digging holes, lol. Cream corn is my jam, but my favorite is fresh on the cob!
Definitely going to make me some of that cowboy candy. I used to blanch my corn too but one year I had limited time. So I cut it off the cob, bagged it and froze it. If you put it in sandwich bags and then into a gallon freezer bag (4 sandwich bags per gallon bag) you can keep the corn up to 3 years. Yes, it still tastes good.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR OPENING, sorry about the caps, the music, and the tour..as I've said in the past, you guys are the best!! I've canned a lot of peppers but never made Cowboy andy so I'm anxious to watch today.
I love the way you work together and that you keep positive through the roughest of times. You are an inspiration. THANK YOU😊 Sally, born in Dorset 🇬🇧smallholder in France🇫🇷
nice haul on the table thats some purdy food, I really like cowboy candy and put it on nearly everything, eggs, sandwiches, burgers... but this is the first recipe I have seen with pineapple added, looks good. thnx for sharing. I love you guys and ur content.
The vinegar is the one ingredient you shouldn't mess around with because that is what provides the acid in order for the pickling to work. You need the water to vinegar ratio to be correct to preserve the food. You can mess around with the other ingredients but the vinegar to water needs to be correct proportions. Basically you can have more vinegar and be safe but not less.
I love banana peppers canned and stuffed with hot dogs. They are awesome canned with a sweet pickle syrup. Yummy! Make sure you wear Playtex gloves when handling any hot peppers to keep from scalding your hands. You don't know pain till you get your hands scalded by hot peppers. Always wash your peppers and let them dry before you start cutting them and don't let them go back in the water!!!
I made cornmeal for the first time(with a blender and a sifter lol) and I was blown away by the difference in smell and taste, compared to the box! And the cornbread, omg the best my husband and I have ever had! Now I'm obsessed with growing as much corn as possible. lol
😂🤣🤣So this comes with a warning? Lol. Oooh yuuum 😋. Cowboy candy burger! Great blessing with your harvest! 🤔Wondering if you can flavor the beans before freezing and if it would keep the flavorings.
That looks really good! You all have been working hard. Thank you for sharing your video. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
Another EXCELLENT video from the sweet Stivers family.. So informative and helpful... I love you guys and I hope you all are doin well.. May God continue to bless and keep you all.. 💕
Hi. I really enjoy your channel. The mini whites are supposed to be harvested way before they turn yellow. To my knowledge all cucumbers turn yellow at the end that is when they are technically ripe. We pick them early because that is when they're most flavorful and tender.
Been awhile since I had Cowboy candy. But I agree with the Tony's it is a Must Have for everything. We use it on.. Everything, well not a PB&J but otherwise.. :) We just cracked open the last jar of Habenero Peach jelly I made 4 years ago and it's still just as good as it was when I made it. God Bless y'all
Guys I was about to say I made it my own and put crushed pineapple s ,it's like a staple around this house now,I also added a lot of onions but if you do like hot dogs it's great on hot dogs also but just crackers and cream cheese with the cowboy candy on top is heaven
I AM NEW TODEYOUR CHANNEL AND HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU NOW FOR A COUPLE WEEKS AND I REALLY AM ENJOYING YOUR VIDEOS. I LOVE THE TEA GARDEN AND SALVE VIDEO YOU HAVE DONE AND I MIGHT TRY ESPECIALLY SINCE MERIGOLDS GROW SO EASY IN WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA.
