"Hot Dreams" is quite a beautiful song. Timber Timbre = Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Elvis, The Doors and Portishead. Brilliant!!!! Great blend of genres from folk/rock, to trip-hop, to jazz, to R&B. One of my favorite bands of the last 10 years.
I first saw him at the Crocodile in Seattle opening for Low Anthem around 2009. They were mostly unknown and so I stood at the front right by the stage. Taylor sat at the drum kick, stared at the floor, and played a set that spoke to my soul. Years later (2019) he came back to Seattle and I had obsessively listened to each album release since then. This next set he was suddenly a showman. He stared out at the crowd and opened his arms and looked us in the eyes. The music was no longer folksy, but it, as usual dripped with atmosphere. They're my favorite band now and there's simply no equal. One other thing: to know and listen to this band is to see them perform live, as their music takes on a new dimension when they play live. They fuse their songs together, change the pace, create absurdly long bridges between songs and droning intros that keeps listeners suspended and hovering in anticipation. Watch their live shows on youtube, see them perform live, and listen to their albums, these guys are true artists.
This was the best concert I've had the pleasure of going to. When Taylor came out on the stage by himself for the encore and started to play Demon Host, I weeped like a child. This concert was one of the most artistically gratifying experiences of my life and it will stay with me forever.
I've seen them two times live in switzerland. The first was a very small club with around 100 People...and the tears are dripping from the rrrrroof. i will never forget this...
Fantastic sound and beautifully filmed. Regularly getting back to this wonderful video. I hope that the complete show will someday be available. Saw them the same year in Prague in a small cellar venue at Halloweens eve. It was absolutely amazing... must have been nearly 10 years ago. How time flies...
Everytime the guitar solo from hot dreams start, I just start shedding tears. I’m usually not an overly emotional guy, the most emotional I get is when I’m really happy or angry at someone. Except for that song. Timber timbre are true masters of their craft and every note from that entire song feels personal. Every hit on those drums seems intentional and every stroke of those guitar strings comes straight from the heart. Im not religious but the beauty of music and how a specific array of sounds can move people has to be the work of some higher being.
dès les premières notes, je me suis tendu, les poils se sont hérissés... il commence à chanter et les larmes affluent... j'essaie de les contenir et y parviens difficilement, l'orchestre entre, je craque, il continue de plus belle et je m'effondre...
I am so in love with your sound Timber Timbre!!! I listen to your songs when I paint and you are such a crazy amazing inspiration!!!!thank you so much!!!!please come to Hamburg, I would love to see you live!!!
It's about time! Ever since we saw the show live I have been waiting for this. Why only 5 songs? It was a superb concert - make it a live CD please!!!!
My inglish (i'm brazilian) is an shit but, i can't belive in this kind of material without any comments, probably anyone will gonna read this, probably that is the last undiscovered big band of our time, the letters, melodies, i could put all the grandiosity of this in words but i think Taylor Kirk just done this better.
I still complaining on "hot dreams" the sax solo... why don't you play it at the shows? hot dreams has become an anthem for the young generation! the sax solo is like the cherry on top of the cake. it gives that flavor to the song. Not saying that Simon doesn't do it right, OK. I'd love to see you back in California !!
Does anyone know where i can find a full version of "demon host" that they play during the credits? That version is amazing, i wanna hear the restttt!!
FINALLY! video was great, tho a little sad it only captured 5 songs and that BIG tease during the credits playing a short clip of Demon Host! argh! lol is there ANY chance this gets a full release? 1st live album perhaps? seems like such a shame to not relive it all again when it was captured all so well (video and audio)
just a question: has anybody here seen them live (not on youtube)? They are coming to my city, but it is a sitting concert, and I'm not sure if I like that. Has anybody else seen them while sitting? Just seems a bit odd to me, but might fit to their slow tempo after all
no one is mentioning the that fact he's totally fucking up the timing on all these songs. which is frusterating cuz they're on the brick of such epicness.. they are one of my top five favorite bands of all time...but ill save my money next time they come to town and listen to albums again...and again..and again... til my needle's a nub....but i couldn't watch this live... thumbs down... sorry buds...
The best thing that ever came out of Canada since Norm McDonald
Words cannot describe how I feel when I listen to bad ritual
Couldn't agree more, never fails to speak directly to my soul.
It just calms you down
So fucking good.

+Tom Jones Agreed, amazing footage. Just curious, was it actually a half hour set?
+TVCasualtee no, it went on for much longer.
@@tomjones560 A tragedy we don't have all of it
This could’ve easily been filmed by David Lynch as b-roll for Twin Peaks. Such a stunning performance.
This is fucking greatness. Outstanding drummer. I never get tired of watching it.

Saw these guys at Lee's Palace in December. I was in awe.
First I heard of these guys was Hot Dreams, but this video (with it's great quality) has introduced me to a few more of their fantastic tunes. Thanks!
Oh Man ! I Love Timber Timbre ! :-D
It's about time! Ever since we saw the show live I have been waiting for this. Why only 5 songs? It was a superb concert - make it a live CD please!!!!

I saw this concert and to this day, that lack of sax still bothers me! But wow Hot Dreams is such a special song!
Christina Da Re and the music video is even better, isn't it? These guys are really serious at creating dark sounds and twisted lyrics.
Artifice Crown Not just anyone, it was Colin Stetson. At least it was on the 13th when I was there.
Artifice Crown I thought it was him. I remember reading an article shortly after the show mentioning that it was him who played.
Artifice Crown Yeah the sax at Lee's Palace was totally radical
did they play a full set or just these songs? would love to buy a full on dvd. it's spectacular
There was more - I'm trying to find the setlist
@@MonoIce350s wish the whole things was recorded.
