Just a quick correction, u can use Wallpaper Engine even if you have low specs, because wallpaper pauses itself when you're in fullscreen apps such as games, browsers and media players in full screen etc... therefore there won't be any performance impactions, u can even set it to completely stop when you play games and run full screen apps so even the 50-60MB ram that is using will be gone.
First off, you can chose for it to completely stop running in fullscreen or in-game. If you have multiple monitors for example, then it can run on those as well. But the wallpapers don't take up as much ram as it takes up the CPU or GPU.

There's something called Bitday which is reactice to current time. The current downloadable version has 12 different images that cycles throughout the day. You can also modify the code in the program to work with images of your choice, the exact time that you want the switch to happen, and how smooth you want the switch to occur.
Just bought it, I am super happy with it! for like 3 bucks, its dirt cheap for the value, I love eye candy and its a quality of life improvement on my pc
In the UK it's also very cheap (£2.99) and honestly one of the best things about this software is that it's so cheap; it's great and you get so much for very little spent and there are no further costs within the app. It's awesome!
This runs fine with Windows 11. Make sure if windows is running slideshow wallpaper... When using this, either disable slideshow or only have slideshow change the wallpaper like once a day... Otherwise it'll make wallpaper engine appear glitchy...

I used wallpaper engine for years and it never disappointed me and if you want something even more impressive, install TranslucentTB (makes your taskbar invisible for more beautiful looks) and install Rainmeter (clock, player, weather and other stuff) so it looks even better. Still not enough? Alright now this is like actually if you just wanna have something impressive, set all your programs on "start minimized" Get yourself a animated loading screen wallpaper in your style and make yourself a playlist of wallpapers that basically just makes you have a cool loading animation when you start your PC. (and it only plays when you start your PC) With a good playlist of really impressive wallpapers you can improve design of your setup by a lot. So yes in my opinion it's worth it even if you just use it normally but if you love having a impressive setup then it's even better.

Anyone else find this software buggy AF? Why do I spend ages finding a nice wallpaper and it doesn't save it in my "installed" list? I shows in my recent context from the sys tray but then selects something different when I click on it. It's so annoying to use and the GUI is so non-intuitive I just can't be bothered.

The wallpaper turns off when playing games so it doesn’t actually affect performance
So you have to change it back every time after your done with a game

wallpaper engine is great, i bought it years ago and just last night i figured out i can use it to also make my own animated wallpapers very easily. i made a sick custm wallpaper and i love it so much. one of my new hobbies is using it to make awesome wallpapers, its so easy a a caveman can do it! highly recommend, amazing product.

Luca Tarqua When you go to change the wallpaper there is a button that says show on start. Make sure that is checked and that should fix the issue
And you have to tick start with windows in the settings

Do the animated wallpapers run in max refresh rate? I have a 165hz monitor and it would look amazing if I had an animated wallpaper in 165fps
The max is 144 i think but i wouldnt recommend setting it over 60 fps cuz its gonna make ur pc run slow
