Portawell Mini Water Filter System - The Ultimate Solution for Clean Water While Overlanding

- If you're going on longer Overlanding trips or living out of your vehicle, you've probably run into issues getting or keeping enough clean water to meet all your needs. Whether it's washing dishes, showering, drinking or other uses, having enough water can be a challenge.
In a couple of months, I'm going through some of the most remote parts of Quebec for 2 weeks and over 4200 miles with 7 other rigs. In order to meet our water usage needs, we're going to rely on this Portawell mini water filtration system.
For less than $250, it can clean a gallon a minute and uses very little power from your existing 12 volt batter sources to run the pump. There are a ton of benefits to this system over some of the more expensive options out there that make it super compelling, so watch the video to learn more!
NOTE: One thing to note is that I mention in the video that you can more easily find filters for this unit, but FYI, with their full size unit with 10" filters, those are much more readily available. For the mini, it uses 5" filters so those are a bit harder to find. Just wanted to add that update so that it was clear! If you click on this link and look below the pump, you'll see the two filters required and total, they're about $30 for a pair: bit.ly/3oTGN8u.

That is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!
Awesome, glad it was helpful!
This looks amazing. I travel mostly in the PNW so water is generally available. Having a small setup like this, at this cost, could really extend my trips. Looking forward to further reviews of this system.
Such a good deal for what it is. More to come for sure!
I've always used the katadyn be free water filter but this looks like something I might have to upgrade to. Looking forward to the video that shows it in action!
Those Katadyne's are nice, just a little work. I'm excited about this thing because I can hook it up to a battery and just bulk fill water containers from it with almost no effort, :D. More to come on it!
Any updates yet?
Still working fine. Haven’t used it as much as I thought I would but I have a buddy who’s building a trailer who I think is going to integrate it into that build.
I haven't used it as much as I thought I would, but I have a buddy that's building an Overlanding trailer and he's going to incorporate it into that build. It's a great little piece of machinery though.
Just to make sure i understand. This can absolutely turn raw water into drinkable water?
Yep, you got it. Hook to power source, plumb water source through the filtration system, and clean drinking water comes out the other end.
Can it be used to recycle water?
I’m sure that it could be.
@@AllThingsOverlanding Thank you. Love the content on your channel BTW.
@@ericschmidt3759 thanks!
I just use a gravity filter tbh.
Those work fine too! My main use case is going to be on a 4200 mile trip up through remote areas of Canada and we've got 8 vehicles going so this little guy is going to keep everyone's water topped off throughout the 2 week trip.
Next time show it working
Don’t you tell me what to do! 😂
