Even if you add a chlorine tablet AND/OR Boil the water, that only kills microbes, Chemical contamination is still there. Heavy metal contamination is still there. So always be mindful of the SOURCE of your water

Maybe boil the water, then filter through the straw filter, then put it through the charcoal filter. If you let it settle you’ll get fewer larger particles and your filter will likely work better
