Hi! There is actually a better way of doing this. First of all, by using the method described in this video you can not only get unwanted parts of adjacent sections (as happened here) but you also disregard changes in tempo, markers, signature, etc. However, by going to EDIT > RANGE > CUT/PASTE TIME, you get it right the first time. This way, you also manipulate signature, tempo and other kinds of tracks, all in one, with fewer steps.
Btw, that range taken into account is the one in between your left and right locators. And you can always use the shortcuts CTRL+SHIFT+X and CTRL+SHIFT+V or whichever you set it to.
Thank you so much for this..... exactly what I am looking for.... those tempo changes!
@@truthseeker630 That works nice, except do you know why... When I now try to change time signatures earlier in the song, everything after it gets messed up?
tysm pal
xoxo
@@jmlfl0ydrose that is because the bars in between change you could.find a walk around like moving that part to the end with the method I described, make the changes there and then placing it back where it belongs, or some other stuff.
It would be nice to have this done via the arrangement track...
I agree with you
Clever use of the tools available. It also makes one wonder if a workflow improvement should be considered in future development ;)
Never knew about creating a MASTER folder.......really nice time saver! ;:-)
Beautiful!
..please Steinberg make something like track stacks in logic x...i really miss that feature from logic...puts tracks in folder and adds a bus...pro tools has it now too....!! regards
Hopping That Cubase 11.5 Has Some New Features Thanks For The video
Thanks for this inspiring vide, please do how where you able to get a full screen zoom of your cubase?
Great tip thx!!!
Very helpfull, but I think it's faster and easier to create loop and then-split loop->select in loop->global copy->paste. 4 shortcuts
you have to do cut to avoid errors so I prefer edit range / cut time from the menu
Helpful tips. If I can make a feature request here: Something similar to “Shuffle mode” In pro tools or “delete time” like in Live so you could delete empty space and everything would slide to the left would be very helpful. Also a multi tool so you don’t have to switch from arrow to range also would be so helpful. Thanks for everything guys! X
This does exist
Shift and delete will delete time
Cubase has had shuffle mode under snap settings since sx1. Combine selection and range tool came with version 11 I think. And as already stated shift + delete will delete the time between the locators.
@@kevvinster thank you!!!
@@JESSEROYAL pleasure. A lot of features in Cubase are actually there, but not as up front as other daws.
You can do this, check my comment above.
Thanks for the idea - although be aware, this will mess up any automation on tracks that are not included in the master folder: master automation, VST automation, FX automation and so on. It will also discard any transitional FX (u suggest to delete them). I was hoping to a better solution. Of course en even better solution would be for Steinberg to include VST automation on track level instead of having it on the VST track like it is today.
is it possible to save metering plugins visuals from one track to another for comparison?
Thankyou for tutorial , please show us the group editing ,,,
I know Cubase has the arranger track. It would be nice to use the arranger as intended and then hit a button that solidified you arrangement and copy pasted and cut and deleted all of the part automatically.
Not sure what I’m missing here but for moving entire sections I just flatten an arranger track.
Does cutting work across any kind of data ? (audio tracks vs midi tracks? or instrument tracks?)
Thanks.
Definitely needed a slower pace to make sure you are also including which keys to hit when moving tracks or parts . This is more geared towards a much more experienced user
This is a great tip that I will actually use! Thanks. Where can we send feature requests? I would love to see things like undo and redo in the sampler track and being able to play loops at half times and double time in media bay.
I'm totally confused. How are you splitting your tracks? I have tracks that I want to cut and move. A whole section so I can record a bridge into that part.
Can't you just right click on the part in the arranger track and copy/paste it there?
But how can I do this, if the tracks contain automation? They don't move along...
Check out the "Arrange like a Boss" Video by Dom Sigalas!
"Automation Moves With Parts" I actually have it to a keyboard shortcut for whenever i want it on.
Read my comment above
Bus automation doesn’t get copied when copying a group with bus automation in it
"always have to doublecheck .." cutaway parts..... not very practical! :(
Typical video from Cubase - moves way too fast and assumes that the viewer is already familiar with the process. Not helpful at all to a novice user.
A really d7mb thing.
Studio One has the same arranger track and you won't believe it...
He controls the parts of the arrangement!!!
Ableton has the same loop range selector and you won't believe it...
You can use it to copy, move or delete any part of the arrangement!
The famous cubase makes you do nonsense. LOL
Explainations very fast, it is not for beginers
This was NOT an easy way to re arrange tracks.. please make a better video
You too fast when you explain it's not helpful
Your content would be great if you didn't talk talk talk talk talk and just got to the point.
Can u import other songs and do the same thing? like pull apart some ice cube songs and mix em up with some chilli pepper baselines?
