Girrrrrl! You brought it today! This is a first! I have never heard this rendition before but it is fly! Thanks for sharing!!!💔 It is definitely going on my playlist! Great content and keep up the good work!
This is the first time I've ever heard this song by them the one I know is by It says Quincy jones But the song is performed by Al B. Sure, El Debarge, James Ingram and Barry White
JFI, Pamela Williams is the sax player, she used to play live on tour with both Patti LaBelle and Teena Marie. The first in the trio of vocalists is Pat Peterson (not Regina Belle, who was pictured in the beginning of this video). Thanks for reviewing this rare gem, not many seem to know it 👍
I am THEE Teena fan. I know them all!! When were were dating, my husband bought me a greatest hits CD once because it had a "new" track. I was like, "Boo, this isn't new. This is just an extended version of the song. . ." Do you know Pamela William's song "Latin Lullaby" featuring Teena? That's another hidden gem. Oh, and Teena's version of "Wishing on a Star" by Rose Royce?
@@LYBism I am also a HUGE Teena fan. I have all of her recordings. I saw her probably over a dozen times live in concert, including with Rick James in 1981 when they were both at their peak of popularity! I have all of those rare cuts you mentioned, and more... including her demo CD of Black Rain, when she was shopping around for a record deal, many of the songs found their way to the La Dona CD. I even bought the QT Hush album (Teena proteges) for the duet with Teena "Soul Mates". Anything with Teena on it I bought, including Gigolette by Ozone, and the CD "Drama, according to Bernadette Cooper" ...I saw Teena just months before she unexpectedly passed performing at the L.A. County Fair, I even posted a few of the songs from that performance on UA-cam, including Teena singing the Mary Jane Girls classic "In My House" ...yes, I know Lady T very well, I miss her, R.I.P.
@@erichessel5255 , Teena was more than a singer; she was a poetess. She never got the fame she deserved because she was too deep for people. They could jam to SQUARE BIZ, but they couldn't understand songs like TUNE IN TOMORROW, ROMANTICA and CONGO SQUARE. Man, I miss her so much. I learned a lot from her music; a lot about history (and Black history, at that). I am literally in another place and time when I listen to her music.
@@LYBism you got that right! Back in the 80's when I'd buy one of her Albums... the best part of listening to it was opening up to the sleeves to read her Liner Notes because she always included some of her poetry! When I first moved to LA, they had asked fans on the radio to show up to the making of her "Lover Girl" video. I was so excited to attend that. Who would know that years later we would become good friends?!?! She was a real down to earth person. I sure do miss her.
@@MonieMusic, I'm sooooo jealous!!! I wanted to sit down and talk to her; pick her brain. She was so BEAUTIFUL to me. Her soul was deep and lovely. I was simply fascinated by her. Growing up, my four favorite artist were (in no particular order) Michael Jackson, Prince Teena Marie and Janet Jackson. My older son recently asked me if I had to listen to just one of them for the rest of my life, which one would I choose. I told him that I COULDN'T choose, so whatever were to happen to me for not choosing would just have to happen, LOL!! After Michael Jackson died, I was so devastated. My family and friends were calling me to check on me like I was really part of the Jackson family, LOL!!! My husband told my mama, "Now, if that White lady dies, y'all will have to bury her with her!" And doggone it, the very next year, Teena was gone.
Oh yeah! Mz. Saxtress ~ Pamela Williams be Brangin' it! That's my girl right there! That's off her first Album! She was Patti & Teena's sax player! So they were more than happy to contribute to her first album! I was fortunate to be the one to pick Pam up from the mountains (where she was almost snowed in) to take her to the airport so that she wouldn't miss her trip to Texas to finalize the album! I'm about to see Ms. Patti perform in concert next month! I sure do miss Lady T though!

@@erichessel5255 Okay I will give that it isn't Regina Belle singing (it did sound off), but they used Regina Belle's picture here on this video. I'm sorry but I've never heard of or know how Pat Peterson looks (no shade, I just don't know). I do know Regina Belle when see her though.
Really enjoyed this track! This is a great cover of Quincy Jones' song that was released in 1990. Hadn't heard this before but Pamela, Patti, and Tina certainly put the sexy into it from a woman's perspective. Loved it! Ashley you now need to react to the original featuring Al B. Sure, James Ingram, El Debarge, and Barry White. You're going to absolutely love it! It's going to definitely go on your Grown and Sexy playlist!🤗
This is the female version of the Quincy Jones song Secret Garden, which included the male voices of Berry White, AL B. Sure, El Debarge, and James Ingraham. I believe that you have reacted to the male version!!!!!😢
Where they been hiding this song. Never knew they made a female version. Love it man❤

Quincy Jones knew what he was doing when he produced this song. It continues to showcase amazing performers. Very intoxicating vibe. 🔥🔥🔥

The first woman singing is Regina Belle and that is her pictured first.
Regina Belle is not singing in this song. The first vocalist is Pat Peterson, she does sound a bit like Regina though.
