Joining New Edition to replace the most entertaining star of that era, brought out the Johnnie that you hear on everything he has done since N.E. Heartbreak. He had the vocals before but was not able to reach his potential until Mike gave him the Swag, Ronnie showed him how to move, Ricky and Ralph challenged him vocally, and together they learned what it took to make the transition from BOYS TO MEN. The hardest thing for him to be in New Edition was learning to dance.
