This video describes exactly what happened to me but I can’t share it because there is no diagnosis called “parental alienation” which means that any court involved counseling is being done by those who are not qualified to help the situation. This only causes more problems for the “alienated” parent and the child. This happened to me and since the court refused to require a diagnosis other than “anxiety”, the alienating parent (with the help of a court appointed counselor) has been able to deny me of all contact with my only son who I raised for ten years. It’s been over four years since he has been able to see his siblings or any member of his family. This problem is actually called a cross-generational coalition and emotional cutoff in family systems therapy. It’s called pathogenic parenting in attachment pathology. This pathology is already in the DSM-5, on page 719, V995.51 Child Psychological Abuse. There is a substantial overwhelming amount of research foundation to all of this. The moment that our courts start demanding a professional diagnosis - the application of the scientifically established knowledge of professional psychology to a set of symptoms - we can begin to solve this problem. We can be part of the problem or part of the solution. Spreading awareness is important but it can also be harmful if you are spreading the wrong information. If there are visible symptoms of “parental alienation” (as described in your video), then there should be a proper assessment by a qualified mental health professional. This assessment will lead to a diagnosis which will then lead to treatment. As your video clearly shows, there is now no treatment for the child because there is no real diagnosis of the problem. Judges often send the child to live with the psychologically abusive parent who is using “parental alienation” as a tool to convince the court to remove the child from the loving parent. Judges are taking the word of mental health professionals who are failing to diagnose the real problem because they are simply not qualified to make this diagnosis. Thank you for reading this and please take a deeper dive into this easily solvable problem as we need the legal profession and the mental health profession to understand what is really happening to our families. I would love to hear any type of feedback that can help lead to an actual solution vs. just another description of this problem.
These videos are written by the most intelligent, most educated, highest qualified authors, worldwide lecturers, and court room experts. These words are theirs, and not mine. Any objections that you have with their books, research, opinions, clinical trials, and other highly respected peer reviewed articles, I recommend that you take it up with them and their medical/psychological/psychiatric communities.
@@lawrencedemarco2729, what a response! I’m pretty sure Bowlby, Minuchin, Beck, Kernberg, Linehan, Lyons-Ruth, and Tronick are just a few that would be considered more intelligent, more educated and more qualified. Even these people never referred to themselves as “experts”. You meant to say self proclaimed experts I assume. I’m not sure why you included “court room experts” in your response. I do not know what that is or how they are helping to stop this “parental alienation”. We are talking about emotional and psychological child abuse, not legal issues. I was simply making an attempt to educate you on the situation we are all dealing with since you seemed to care enough to post a video on the subject. If you can name one solution that these “experts” have brought to the table to help stop “parental alienation”, this would be a good opportunity for you to do so. It’s been a couple of decades now and all I see is a growing problem and more broken families with no solutions in sight. I do appreciate your response but it seems you are simply promoting this group of “authors” and “lecturers” (many of who I highly respect). This is a child protection issue, not a child custody issue. Like I said in my previous post, we must all choose to be part of the solution or we will find ourselves being part of the problem. As parents, we see the problems very clearly. There is no more time for lectures and book tours. I did appreciate the video and I’m glad you are bringing awareness to one of the biggest problems that families of divorce or separation are facing today. I hope I don’t appear rude but I’m having a hard time with all of this resistance when I simply point out facts that could possibly help. I’m just a parent who has experienced this all first hand. Maybe I should start calling myself an expert. Thanks again for the video and the response. Maybe I’ll share both. It all makes more sense now. I forgot to mention that over 25,000 parents presented a petition to the APA so we have already taken this up with them and their community. It’s been a couple of years now and there has been no response of any kind by any of them.
@@joemilligan6536 Joe: Thank you for your thoughtful response. Your patience, class, and comments are appreciated. I was rushed and didn’t put the attention to your comment it deserved. I apologize and will try this again. I’m sorry you are going through this. You ARE certainly an expert, and unwilling one, no doubt! How awful it is to be dragged into this morass. I pray for a good result for you and your family. Nah, I don’t mean to promote any one organization, group, or individuals over another and I invite and appreciate any criticism, critical commentary, or feedback. I defer to experts with these scripts, because I don’t want to get into nuanced arguments, I just want to spread awareness and helpful info. I will be sure to cover legal issues like the one you raised in the next set of videos, as Ashish S. Joshi, L.L.M. has offered to co-produce a second cluster of videos involving litigating parental alienation in court, he’s just working on something and doesn’t have the time to begin immediately. Thanks again for your feedback, your comments are always welcome. Larry
@@TheLawCenter, thanks so much for taking the time to write that response. It’s means a lot to me. I’ve watched the world move from PAS to PA to calling this the abuse that it actually is. I have no where left to turn so I’m trying to help move this entire approach forward in any way that I can. I am just a parent who has seen how easily some people can twist the good work that so many have done to gain what they see as an advantage in family court. I have high hopes that we can rely on the mental health field and the legal field to work together to stop this problem immediately. We can gain serious traction if we can expose the severity of this problem to those who are in a position to protect our children. Although these communities seem divided, I do know that everyone wants this to end and many have dedicated their lives to making that happen. I also know that we all have a duty to protect all children from all types of abuse. I suppose I am focused more on finding a way to prevent this than learning about it at this point. Finding the actual cause of the adversity and stopping it from progressing is something that should be done first in each and every case. I’m sure it can be done. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
I'm not sure what you mean. There's a playlist about parental alienation with well over 5 hours of content. I don't know where "joke" comes in about something so tragic.
@@TheLawCenter your right it is tragic. The fact that the courts profess one thing and justify another based on gender is far more tragic for both parents and the children. They system would be much better off being mothballed.
The system is cost-prohibitive yields poor results and robs vulnerable parents and children of the potential funds that could be used for education or other meaningful endeavors. Legislate 50-50 parenting, divide the assets based on participation and hand the remainder over to the criminal courts who by the way need sensitivity training. Stop dividing the genders.
