After watching this a billion times and slow planning I'm proud to say I installed mine on all doors and dashboard. I actually tapped my lights to the passenger foot well light so that they turn on just from me unlocking or opening the door, it really adds so much to already walk into nicely lit cabin. I did have to use vcds to code the mmi screen to have foot well light option so that they are always on. Thanks a ton for the info, it helped a lot when I was confused
That's actually smart... But that means the controllers in the door are 24/7 powered? Because if you put them on ignition, they are off when opening the car and there is no power in the door controlled by the footwell light.
@@tristaaaaan3473 the footwell lights are on when you open the car doors and then I had to use VCDS to code ambient lighting within the MMI screen so that they remained on while driving. the door controllers receive signal from the main dashboard controller so no its not powered 24/7. i haven't had any issues with my setup
@tubbycustard8866 where did you find power and gnd sockets on the dashboard? Or did you just use the Power from the door and let it power the dashboard too?
@@Alvah37 there are taps you can plug into the fuse box - that's your power. Then you can use any screw on the metal parts of the dashboard - that is your ground.
Hi i am really impressed with your work and would like to ask if you offer any services to install LED lights onto my BMW F21 1 series 116d m sport 2016 plate?
I think it looks really good! I dont know what people are talking about, ”too much”, have you seen a mercedes or rolls royce? They are too much lights😂
getting a bit confused about the variety of links in your description.. if i wanted to have a full kit, (except for door handle and storage lights) extra long for dashboard, connectors etc.. what kit do i buy? and also, i would just need solid color. this exact car.
sure sorry about the confusion, this video might help explain the difference between all the kits: ua-cam.com/video/ibQNgO5t87c/v-deo.html but from what you mentioned there, you would need a minimum of this kit: ebay.us/yDsImt You might need to order an extra strip (ask on eBay) and that way you can also get the extra strip across the passenger side of the dash.
So with the kit, you get 6 strips but 4 control modules for the door trims and dashboard. And then a module for the footwell. So how would you wire up the dashboard with only 4 modules. Cos each module would be for each door. But you’d need a separate one for the dash but it doesn’t come with extra. So how do you combat this? Do you wire the dash to the footwell module or?
Sure so the main module has the footwells and the 2 dash strips with it. So there are 5 modules where 4 are in the doors and the 5th is in the centre for the dash and footwells
Do t do it lights are from china and work for less than a day mine did. There are sold under generic name rgb. But they are from china. Symphony means nothing except color of lights. But don’t be fooled they are not American made but from china. So yeah they look cool. Is it worth the hassle of pulling them back out. NO furthermore you’ll notice when researching they only show cars with straight lines on dash or a very slight curve. 90 degree angle forget about. Also the rgb halo are exactly the same thing but charge you $259 for the word halo. You’ll notice on the website they say fiber optic. But the pics are led strips. Two different things. Total scammer.
Are the links for the kits ones that you made and sell or no? I have a android unit in my car and think this will go well as it could bluetooth to that.
After watching your video I bought the same kit and have a question on the door controllers I have 2 of them fully installed and the main controller installed and I tested both doors for power from the Audis door modules but when I turn the car on I have lights on the dash and foot wells but nothing on the doors is there something I’m missing and extra info would help full thanks
Hi mate, great videos. I've recently installed some led strips similar to yours and hooked them up to the doors exactly as you've done. Unfortunately, 1 week after, not just that the door modules do not light anymore, also the LEDs that light up the door switches stopped lighting+ leds from central console(that surround the shifter). Do you have any idea what could have happened? As you have installed quite a few of these led strips, could they be drawing too much electricity from the door handles so that a fuse popped? The main module works just fine, it is just the door modules. Any idea would be highly appreciated as I do not know what to do. Edit: the next day, the door handles led came back up but the sub-modules do not light up, is there any way to reset the sub-modules?
Hey friend thank you very much for the very good video. I have just a question, can you replace the orignial foot light with the one from the kit? Or do i have to use both of them next to each other? Thank you for your advise! :)
I'm a lil confused with all the different options in the description, which one did you use or what was the combo? Also do you think having the lights on the speedometer is distracting?
Here are the 2 things you need to purchase to get this look - Symphony Version with Door Handle & Storage Lights - ebay.us/BRimPg And - Extra long strips for Symphony Dash - ebay.us/QARnzT

what did you do with the OEM door handle lights? my car has them there already and I don't wanna have to destroy them
y dont many places not code the lights to the car system like the MMi set up ?
Whats the downside of just having the lights controlled just by an app?

This is awesome. I have a 2015 B8.5 and this looks like an awesome thing to have. Much love
Trust me, you need a new display, I installed a 12,3 inch Display and in combination with this lights... Wow.
Hello, i have a question, will you do an A4 B7 in the future? i would like to do these lights myself one day.. Thanks
There is now big difference between the Models. The installation is the same.

Can i ask what kit you use? Is this your own kit or does the customer have to supply it.
Its the ones in the description, I normally supply them for my customers but you can purchase them too
Could this cause parasitic drain since those are permanent lives that you used for the doors?
Hi there! Nice work. Did you use a fuse to connect the red wire to the live? Or there is no need to do that?
Are the links for the kits ones that you made and sell or no? I have a android unit in my car and think this will go well as it could bluetooth to that.
are the leds basically being powered by 12v source?
Yeah pretty much. And you just need to find a source of 12v to power the modules

Where did you find switched 12v from the doors?
How do you connect to the app. It doesn’t seem to work
