Elaine Paige and Siobhan McCarthy, the original duo of Florence/Svetlana from the musical 'Chess', perform the hit song 'I Know Him So Well,' popularised by Elaine and Barbara Dickson. Written by Tim Rice and Benny and Bjorn of ABBA.
This is perhaps the only 'official' video of the pair singing together, other than at the Chess concert in Hyde Park more than 20 years later.
Tommy Korberg is also seen in this video, who then goes on to sing 'Anthem' from Chess, and absolutely owns the song.
Neither Elaine or Tommy won the awards this year, with Michael Crawford taking best actor for Phantom. And rightly so! (Sorry TK!)
MANY thanks again to David Leck for this, and many other, great Elaine videos. Be sure to check out my other uploads and also www.freewebs.com/operathephantom for any Elaine trades.
One of the fine pairs singing this from Chess, but always with Elaine Paige. Wonderful.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!
Great song and meaningful thanks for posting.
I saw Siobhan play the part of Florence at the Prince Edward Theater in London in 1987. She was great.. I also saw Tommy Korberg too. Good to see this. Thanks
She played the part of Svetlana, not Florence.
@@MmeKastaffiore After Elaine left, Siobhan took over as Florence and Grainne Renihan became Svetlana.
'The original duo from the musical' not from the concept album. I know well enough who they played, check my Elaine Paige collection. Also look on UA-cam I have a few videos of Elaine singing this song uploaded, but there are other recordings out there of her doing it.
It's so strange Siobhan McCarthy also played on Chess which was created by Tim Rice and B&B which later on she played the principal role of Donna in Mamma Mia! again by B&B (Judy Cramer's idea and concept).
Spectacular.
I always knew that my cousin Siobhan (pronounced Shivawn!) was brilliant... I never saw this video before. BTW In the original London Evita Musical, her song was "Another suitcase etc"
She seems to have made a thing of doing cover versions of Barbara Dickson hits.
Where is Siobhan now ❤
Wonderful... great to see it again after all these years. Do you also have Tommy singing Anthem?
ok

Barbara Dickson has nothing to worry about. She is in a different class to this
Absolutely right!
Very disrespectful comment 😢
@@jimbyrne3375 But absolutely true!
