Sadly, not for me. I agree, this version is great, truly great and definitive, too. However, the most recent versions I've heard of this song show he has gotten into some very bad habits vocally, which might be partly because he's having to use little tricks to get around his voice not being as reliably strong and powerful as it used to be. So I would respectfully disagree with you on the point of him still delivering to this day - but here, surely nobody could top this?
@@AmandaJYoungs He have aged, not been broke to pieces. As the most natural thing in the world his voice have grown lower, he can't sing this in it's former key. This is not "lerning bad habits" or I've been learning bad habits of not seeing as great as I did as young. Tommy Körberg still kicks ass well over his 70' and if you don't understand this journey life is and what it does to all of us, it's your loss.

INCREDIBLE! I have watched this non-stop. His vocals are like a well-tuned instrument. He uses every aspect of his mouth to sing the best notes possible. He actually uses his freakin' teeth to shape some of the notes (1:46, 2:30) when he deems necessary - Just astounding. I've been listening to the Broadway Cast version since I was a wee lad. And this...well...It just doesn't get better.
actually, Sinatra did have singing lessons and even went on to publish a booklet of singing lessons written by his voice teacher. (ua-cam.com/video/2gfmHsLte_A/v-deo.html). I have no information about Tommy's voice training or lack of t, but he does sing with flawless technique, especially in breath control. That makes for a mystery. The subtleties involved are just not natural.
Meh, whenever there's a rumor about someone being an amazing singer without singing lessons, it either turns out to be a lie, or they end up losing their voice after a few years, and then it's wither ruined forever, or.. they get singing lessons.

If there is any doubt that his awesome talent has been perfected through deliberate technique, listen and watch how he shapes - and then changes the shape - of the final note for the last word "heart." Follow from 02:45 and notice how he changes at 02:48/49. That is technique at its most artistic perfection.

Anthem was written specifically for Körbergs voice. Körberg is a great singer but not the best, but for anyone else to preform this at this level is very hard because of that.

I don't know why critics bagged this musical. clearly they have no idea what musicals are all about. do yourself a favor and buy the sound track, its brilliant. If you have a home theater system, play it on that. you will love it, or a good set of headphones will do the trick as well, and listen to the story.

They had not figured out a way to include this sort of song on a pop record so it was sitting around for about nearly a decade, popping up in late ABBA demos recordings in the early 80s titled "Nationalsang", and even a portion of the song can be heard in the guitar solo of "Our Last Summer". It goes to show how the duo had a fondness for the tune. Which brings us to this video. You could see in the end the joy in Benny to finally see this amazing song work after all this time!

Marcelito Pomoy didnt have pro lessons and learned everything through imitation. It can be done if ur ear I'd good enough and u watch pros closely.

Gud velsigne Sverige! Dere har gitt oss kultur og tradisjoner som vi bærer med stolthet her i det nordligste av Europa. Dere var vår inspirator da vi skulle lage vårt eget "folkhem". Med linjer fra Marquis Childs’ (1936) bok "Sweden - The middle way" ble moderne velferdssamfunn i hele Vest-Europa utviklet. Sverige gav oss balansen mellom individuell frihet og kollektiv samhandling som sikret vår verdensdel alle goder vi har. Takk til alle hyggelige og snille svensker som tok i mot oss da verden gikk i knas for oss under krigen 1940-1945. Dere blir aldri glemt for det! Velkommen inn i NATO. Dere er med på å skape sikkerhet for fred, velstand og frihet for nye generasjoner! Takk! Takk! Takk!
