I have the axure as well. I use it combined with my copy of Odin 3 and Shreddage Hydra for my demos. Having vst instruments is great because it allows you to write with your brain first so you don't lean on muscle memory with guitar and you can write more interesting riffs!
@@iAutodidact I swear they must have made some of the old Erra breakdowns by tabbing 4 bars of 16th note 0's then closed their eyes and deleted random notes
3:36 Bends? Usually, you can just use the bog standard pitch bend automation of your DAW. Not sure it if is an actual limitation of Axure, but usually ptch bends aren't sampled since you can do it via automation.
@@pelennorDSP Hmm... interesting. I have a couple of Shreddage 3, Ample Metal Hellrazer, and others (Submission Audio, Native Instruments, etc.), they don't have sampled pitch bends; it doesn't seem to be common. From what I can tell, it seems Odin 3 and Djaa Maasta have sampled bends, which is news to me. Sampled bends seems to be interesting, but mainly for specific types of bends that are not easy to recreate in a virtual guitar (ie. djent bends/fast bends). Shreddage 3 has support for unison bends, but I don't think it is playing samples.
I've been doing this while at work ever since, now I have a new song every single day 😅

My last two EPs have 80% programmed guitars (Odin), along with bass and drums and synths, because even though I can also play guitar I wrote with them and just liked how it sounded. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, actually i tried it in one of my latest Songs and it's pretty dope. It can be helpful, maintaining a consistent range of Frequencies. And it evens out little imperfections of your real Guitartracks, if that makes sense. It's, at least for me, easier to mix this way. But i use the VST PlugIn ''RealEight'' , i don't have Axure yet. But it sounds Great.....both of them. And i don't use their built in Amp Sim's etc. I do use the Archetype Nolly X aswell.
Always enjoy a video using guitar VSTs. If you get a chance, the Otto Audio DJAA Maasta guitar VST looks really interesting (but pricey, so NFR would be the way to go). Outputs DI ready for your amp sims of choice, can go super low, and built in double tracking (via two sets of samples). Their amp sim is extremely highly regarded, so I suspect they've done very well with their guitar VST, too.
When you program your bass do you vary the velocity and timing or just run it tight to the grid ? I could see myself to use this to program ambient cleans.
I'm surprised that this is surprising. Most of the stuff of Guitaryoutubers sounds that there's not real instrument involved (until they need it for the "playthrough" video)
Stereo image is pretty bad. Is there a stereo mode where one side is slightly behind? Playing them at the same time sometimes cancelles out the stereo image.
2 questions. Before I get to that, this is crazy. You should try to make something you think is unplayable and program it and see how it sounds. Question one how do I get you to listen to a song of mine in that live stream? Question two do you have actual days of the week when you listen to other people's mixes?
There are many round robins and there is still a risk due to grid placement, but we include many samples in each velocity later that will eliminate any phasing if at all by using different velocities or offsetting the other midi track by a hair.
Cause I was listening really hard it felt like I knew the guitar was fake, but if I wasn't paying attention I don't think I would really know. The one thing I DO thing sounds super fake is the lead. I would assume it's some type of synth over a guitar. It's very robotic
I'm not familiar with Axure, but in other Plugins you can make it sound very realistic nowadays, but you have to deep dive how to program and its a lot of work. Probably it's the same with Axure.
It kinda sounds like it's tripping over itself if that makes sense. Maybe a problem with the programming though, I get that you don't want to spend a week tweaking it lol
Sonically sounds balanced and great. The execution and feel i get is just homogenized hogwash. Very uninspiring approach to writing quality music... Even though im sure its here to stay, i am hoping people once again rely on talent and creativity as opposed to midi based laziness..
Thanks, and we totally agree depending on the application. Using our library is just another tool to inspire creativity. It’s where people get into AI to depend on creativity that will start to ruffle some feathers. We don’t aim to eliminate creativity, only enhance it!

Can it replicate an 8 string?
Chris Bedan is killing it with only using midi instruments. Highly recommend people check out his channel.
I second this! That guy's a machine.
I third this.
fourth this. That dudes content has inspired me to start writing again myself. absolute mad man.
I'd definetely recommend Odin lll. That's the one i'm using.

Thanks again for the review Keyan! Glad you’re enjoying Axure!

Heck yeahhhh!!!!! Welcome to the club brotherrrrr
Let's gooo \m/
I was expecting you here, bro never misses :)
TONE IS IN THE MIDI !?!?!?!?
Apparently so
That’s why you gotta bump the mids
Alan Rigdon (ex-Erra) developed that midi guitar, right?
Yea
You can definitely tell
100% its his carvin guitar and his playing.
It’s funny because I believe he and Jesse wrote early ERRA with TabIt and I hear it here
@@iAutodidact I swear they must have made some of the old Erra breakdowns by tabbing 4 bars of 16th note 0's then closed their eyes and deleted random notes
This is actually how I’ve been writing for quite some time fantastic to demo.

I use guitar VSTs exclusively (sadly) and almost all of them have pitch bends as a standard articulation
@@pelennorDSP Hmm... interesting. Sounds better than anything I've ever recorded with my real guitars
I still can't get over the drums, they sound sick
Axure goated

As someone who uses guitar pro to demo most of my stuff, this is super cool and makes me want to transition to demo like this!
As long as you consider the octave differences of midi after you export out of guitar pro. You can easily transfer to midi guitar libraries.
@@colinmitchell1287 true!
Good to see someone else properly using the JST Kaos FX bundle :)
Keyan... Buddy... its MIDI. You can do bends with the pitchwheel. 😂
I feel like the best win would be layering VR guitars with real ones.suoer sick though. Really love your content and your music. Rock on brother

Sounds great. The only bit that stands out as very 'midi' was the lead tone. Still super impressive though.
Could imagine that i would use this in a demo to get the ideas out quicker instead of using hours on recording the same riff.
Color me interested!!

Praise Midi-core!
The lead tone lets it down slightly. Otherwise, sounds pretty good!
What you doin dropping a video at nearly midnight?! I’m sleepy 😢
Even though we are in the future, we must cater to the majority who live in the past (North America and Europe)

everything sounds super realistic other than the lead guitar and the bass to me.
Stereo image is pretty bad. Is there a stereo mode where one side is slightly behind? Playing them at the same time sometimes cancelles out the stereo image.
We are aware of this issue and will be fixed with full stereo capability in one preset among many other things on the October update!

I know there are round robbins but are there risks of the rhythm tracks summing to mono if they are identical midi/ tones?
There are many round robins and there is still a risk due to grid placement, but we include many samples in each velocity later that will eliminate any phasing if at all by using different velocities or offsetting the other midi track by a hair.
@@studysoundaudio thanks for the response! I’ll be considering picking this up in the future
did you mix the drums as well as using turbo or just turbo?
PComp, Reverb and Saturation added with very minimal mixing, 90% of it is turbo mode

Attack doesnt sound right. Sounds like hitting string with a hammer.
The attack knob is very aggressive on our library. We recommend blending that knob to taste with automation.

They should reconsider the "SS Audio" abbreviation if they want to get traction in and around Germany 😅
I mean, the plugins aren't fake though; they do exist. 😅 (referring to the thumbnail)
